I’ve given 4 stars for the packaging/items/ease of delivery and general entertainment value. Not all the experiments worked or worked very well hence not 5 stars.

We have just finished “stage 1”. My son (8) and I have enjoyed working through the first 3 boxes. Box 1 worked very well, box 3 mostly worked well (and had some messy/wow factor stuff so v enjoyed) but box 2 (lots of static energy stuff) didn’t work well at all - despite a lot of simple things that should work + a lot of effort (rubbing balloons etc). Nothing really did what it was meant to and a couple of things I felt could have been better thought out. Also we were supplied with a powder poster paint which differed from the manual, I tried to mix with water for the related experiment but it didn’t work and we just had to skip that one. However, my son has very much enjoyed all three boxes, regardless of results/success. It’s been a fun bit of non-screen time fun for us on rainy afternoons. The manuals are short/child friendly and give nice explanations. We are looking forward to trying the stage 2 boxes.

However the webpages are clunky, with frequent 404 errors I was unable to update my address or bring next box forward after pausing my subscription so had to cancel.

Not only does this company make wonderful kits that my 6-year-old granddaughter loves receiving, but they went the extra mile in customer service. I ordered a 6-month subscription, with the first kit being sent to me so I could hand it to her in person when I visited. When I saw that it wasn't going to reach me in time, they rushed another kit direct to her home address, and all I had to do was return the original kit to them when I got home. Which I did of course, because I'm honest and because they were very helpful!

Love these boxes. I home educate my 12 year old- he has a very short attention span, but learns so much from the experiments and short explanations. They’re great value and we enjoy doing the experiments together. The certificates are an added bonus.

We received the first Letterbox Lab box in the post today.
I have been apprehensive about doing science experiments, but knew the value they would bring to my 9 year old daughter's home education. 
All I can say is Wow! She was so engaged, as we did experiment sets 1 and 2 today. 
I'm so pleased that I chose to subscribe to Letterbox Lab, my daughter is so engaged and its written in a way that I don't have to worry about how I explain each experiment as it's all there for me.

Letterbox Lab are what they say: a company which produces attractive & interesting science experiment boxes which do fit through most letterboxes, so they don’t sit on the doorstep advertising that you’re not in. I took out a twelve month subscription of the Explore boxes for my young grandson and he has really looked forward to them and had enjoyed using the contents. It has made him even more interested in how things work.

The boxes are amazing. Really engaging, and super fun to do. We loved that they had everything you needed, as well as little surprise gifts.
They’re affordable too, which really helps.

We recently found these guys after looking for a science club for our son who is 10. He loves every aspect of science. Our first box arrived the other week, and our son has not stopped smiling, it was jam packed with all the things he needed for the experiments, with easy to follow instructions. It is one of the best things we have happened to stumble across. Would highly recommend to anyone who has a budding mad scientist in their family.

As a busy home ed mum, I love that Letterbox makes science accessible. Everything is included and I don't have to source any hard-to-get equipment or ingredients. And if we do run out and want to try the experiment again, we can easily order refills from the website or find much of it in our kitchen cupboards.

The instructions and explanations are really simple too and there's extra info available on the website for parents which makes it easy for me to explain big concepts to my 4 and 6 year olds.

My kids absolutely love the kits. I always dreaded science at school but they look forward to the box dropping through the door each month. Making slime, racing rocket balloons, performing static electricity magic tricks, foaming volcanoes; they've had so much fun! (It's stealth learning!)

They especially love the characters Meg and Pico and once we've finished an experiment they'll go off and make up stories about them, incorporating science into their play.

We've bought one-off labs as presents for friends and they've now signed up too.

I really recommend Letterbox Lab: it's fun, affordable and makes teaching science easy whether for home ed or supplementing school. I'm learning too!

Customer service is fantastic, the videos are helpful and the items in the boxes are of great quality. I have three kids of different ages doing the experiments and they all love doing them.

We love everything about these kits. Great experiments that are packaged so they can be completed in one day or over a few. The booklets are easy for my 7year old to follow and really foster her love of science.

We were gifted another well known subscription but this is way better.

We are currently on our 4th Investigate box and my 2 boys (aged 7 and 10) absolutely love them. It is their favourite part of the week when we sit down and they do the experiments. Each set includes everything you need and the instructions are laid out in an easy to understand way that my children can follow easily. The questions and explanations are age-relevant and help them to understand the science behind what they have just discovered. I was looking for a practical way to do science with my children when we started home education as there are workbooks and reference books but they is nothing like learning through actually doing the activity yourself. I couldn't recommend Letterbox Lab enough, it is exactly what we wanted and the boys get very excited when the next box pops through the letterbox. Thanks again for making science fun!

The investigate series is perfect for my 10 year old. Exciting experiments, with an actual point. The series leads from one experiment to the next in a well-thought out sequence that encourages age-appropriate scientific thinking. They really do include everything you need to do the experiments too. I've had great interactions with the team too, whenever I had a question or request.

As a modern parent of an only child I’m constantly struggling with the dilemma of finding interesting things for her to do that don’t involve watching TV or playing in an iPad. It’s fair to say that lockdown and home-schooling has massively exacerbated this! Letterbox Lab provides interesting but educational activities that I enjoy as much as my 7 year old daughter. So far my favourite box was making slime. :-)

Letterbox Lab is a brilliant monthly science subscription for hands on learning. We have done all 12 boxes and we are gutted there are currently no more.

Brilliant subscription box, my 8-year old daughter has really loved this and is just disappointed she's come to the end of the 12 box series. Everything being in the box is the best thing about it, we've tried lots of other science kits and online science activities but trying to find the ingredients is such a pain, so this is ideal. My daughter did need some help to do the tasks, we enjoyed doing them together. Pitched at just the right level. Also every single one worked (we've tried science experiments that haven't) so it's never disappointing. Hope they come up with some new ones!
