Applied to study and was completely rejected
Applied to study and was completely transparent about my past. I provided everything reasonably available to me, but was still blocked from starting my course because I couldn’t supply information that no longer exists or can’t realistically be obtained years later.
My probation ended in 2021, I’ve completed my sentence, and I’ve rebuilt my life since release. I’m now in stable work (including a supervisory role), have secure housing, disability support (PIP), and I run my own music production work and studios.
Despite clear evidence of rehabilitation and stability, I’ve been told I cannot start and may have to wait until 2026.
I also have a disability and don’t feel reasonable adjustments or flexibility were properly considered regarding what I’m being asked to provide.
The overall process has felt disproportionate and has had a serious impact on my ability to access education.
I’m sharing this so others are aware of how rigid and difficult the process can be, even when you are clearly trying to move forward in life.
