Avoid - worst retail experience of my life.
By far my worst retail experience ever. Ian Smith is the most obnoxious, ridiculous, blame passing clown I've ever had the misfortune to have to deal with. Customer care? - non-existant. Shame I can't give a minus rating.
I bought the Gaughan R/evolution cd box set and the Live vinyl. The box set was perfect. But, the vinyl had a scratch/popping first time on the turntable. I called LNFG. Ian's response was "What kind of turntable do you have?" Once he deemed my Technics deck as worthy, he went on to explain how people with "cheap Alba decks" complain there is a problem with their vinyl when, in fact (according to his years of superior wisdom) it's the customer's shoddy equipment. That was the first ridiculous thing he said in a mind blowing 7 week period of denial, blame passing and general ill mannered customer relations.
I returned the LP on 23.1.26. in the hope of a quick resolution in the form of a replacement.
From Julia:
We suspect that it is just the record needing cleaned. We have a proper record cleaning machine at home so will give at good clean this weekend.
To Julia:
It happened on the first play.
It’s almost a month since I returned it. I’d prefer you just send me a replacement.
From Julia:
If there is nothing actually wrong with the LP, we will return it to you. We absolutely do not replace LPs for new ones simply because there is a tiny amount of dust needing removed.
To Julia:
There obviously is something ‘actually’ wrong with the vinyl. It’s disappointing that in the three weeks you have had the LP you haven’t addressed the issue until I contacted you a few days ago. I don’t want the scratch buffing out. I want a brand new album (that I’ve already paid £30 for) that doesn’t have a defect in the first place.
I would have received better customer care from Amazon.
Then Ian joined in:
I'm sorry that you feel this way, clearly not having your every desire attended to is troublesome for you.
I have pressed over 200,000 records and I have cleaned every single one before first playing because of the potential for dust and grime post manufacture. If you have never done such a thing, that is indeed fine but it does mean that you will be passing off every pop and crackle associated to dust as a scratch, when in fact it is not such.
Everyone has been perfectly helpful, you have returned a record, which we very clearly said we would clean and check for flaws, If we discovered flaws, we would replace, if we discovered it was simply a cleaning issue, we would return.
You are unhappy with this! Why?
If we have for some circumstance received some especially dusty records, you want us to send you another unopened copy and risk the very same thing again. You also wish us to waste two copies of a record for one customer. We have not confirmed we are returning your album to you - you are protesting at this before we even begin. It is very curious.
Offering to professionally clean a record for you, is a positive thing. Most people would be delighted by the offer.
Anyway - I'm sure this reply will simply add fuel to the fire of you feeling mistreated because we offered to handle a matter sensibly, efficiently and without unnecessary waste.
So for convenience, we shall simply refund your record, it is in exceptionally short supply, is a fund raising record and thus being wasteful is not a preferred option for anyway.
To Ian:
A refund (including my postage) is ideal. My account is...
From Ian 9.3.26:
Once the record is returned and confirmed as faulty we will be happy to do that
To Ian:
You’ve had the LP since late January, it's faulty.
From Ian:
So you say
I've been in NY I have no knowledge of such
To Ian:
Why are you being so obstinate over this?
All I want is either a refund or the product I paid for in perfect condition (which is what anyone would expect- and not an unreasonable desire as per your previous opening comment).
From Ian:
You do understand that the problem might easily lie with your TT or stylus and we simply pleasantly requested the right to check something. We have three staff, we are not the Amazon sized company your communications and expectations seems to suggest you think we are
We are helping a third party run a fundraiser for a musician and ensuring every penny is protected is part of this process, we do not control the purse strings of this project and I would have thought this might also be of some importance to you
To Ian:
I’m fully aware of the good cause behind this project, being a huge fan of Gaughan's music and ethics. I think he would be appalled at your treatment and attitude towards a supporter.
FYI I never use Amazon.
Finally from Julia 13.3.
We listened to and cleaned it which took care of the static but there is a discernible pop on the opening track. We will ship a replacement.
There was a whole lot more but no space.
Not one apology.
What a waste of everyone's time.

Best record store/label in Glasgow
All the folks at LNFG/BigBlue do an incredible job. Friendly, helpful and they love what they do. Long may it continue

I ordered a batch of LPs from their recent promotional sale. Ian kept me informed and responded to my questions promptly. Everything arrived by Royal Mail tracked in a timely fashion and was well packaged.
I would recommend purchasing directly from them so their artists receive more royalties. Overall, this was a good experience and I am enjoying listening to the music.
Had the misfortune to buy tickets from…
Had the misfortune to buy tickets from these clowns.
As a first time buyer they have completely lost my confidence as a company. Never again will I buy anything from them. They have the customer service of a moldy rotten potato stuck in a sewage pipe.
Gig for 13th Dec was cancelled
Thay told me refunds would be processed on Dec 31st, a strange day to process refunds. Why wait so long?
I gave them a few weeks before I emailed them, I received an email saying the refund would be processed immediately. No such refund arrived. I emaild them again with options of how a refund could be obtained. Again an email saying it had been processed and the money should be in my account. I waited several days, guess what, no money had been sent.
Eventually I called Ian and he proceeded to tell me to check my Shopify account to see my refund, trouble is I don't have a Shopify account, Ian insisted that I do have a Shopify account and at that point told me the refund was not his responsibility and that I had to check my Shopify account.
Ian, Kenneth (company Directors) and Julia (company) secretary, they and they alone are responsible for the actions of their company, not a third party company such as Shopify.
I got the tickets from a link on their website advertising the gig. I bought them as a guests on Shopify, meaning I didn’t have to set up a Shopify account as Ian insisted that I had to have done.
Eventually after another email to them I received another very rude reply.
Eventually I got my refund on the 3rd of February. From the date of the cancellation of the gig till I receive my refund took 52 days including 34 days of continued promises that the refund was on its way or had been processed.
In short I was continually lied to by the owners of last night from glasgow for over a month.
As a first time customer I'm not very impressed by them and will avoid ever knowingly buying any form of products from the again, and so should anyone else.
Overall last night from glasgow are Cheeky, Rude, I'll-mannered, Impolite, Evasive, Prevaricating and Hostile people.

Great company, brilliant ethos.
Great company, supporting artists.
Their ordering process is a bit busted. Keep popping up discounts that then disappear at checkout. Have pointed it out but they just blank refuse to acknowledge .

Wee visit to pick up some orders
Wee visit to pick up some orders, including one I didn't know was ready 👍. I love this place it's basically wall to wall records, which every room in the world should be like. I was pushed for time and didn't get a browse. Always another day for that. Glad to say I am now a member and would hope anyone who read this review, will take a look and take one out as well. Please let me say, I do not work for and I am not related to the folk who own the establishment. I am just an enthusuastic music lover and supporter of what Ian and his team are doing for artists. Nuff said Brian Mac Gold 15 Member 👏👏
Disprespected
My order for 4 Xmas gifts was cancelled with no reason provided until I enquired. Apparently it was assumed I was planning to re-sell. No issue with such a policy if made clear at the time of purchase. Disrespectful.
UPDATE: pleased to say I got hold of the editions I needed for Xmas elsewhere, thanks to my CC fellow fans! All is well. Merry Xmas!

Essential Listening Pleasure
Phenomenal output from a small friendly team. Staff are informative and helpful at all times. Fantastic support for the artists on the label and they thoroughly deserve the growth they have experienced through hard work and dedication. Amazing value for customers yet at the same time giving more to the artists. The best membership you will buy from any label. I have been buying from the label for over nine years now and they never disappoint and output outstanding music. Always are warm welcome at their instore, concert and HQ events.
Great Way to find new music
I’ve bought a few records from LNFG, always been a good experience. Generally I’ve ordered online and picked up in store as I’m fairly local. Recently I ordered Fontaines album and also included the ‘Take a chance on us’ bundle of 5 albums for £30 (great value). A couple of bands I knew and a few I didn’t, but just a great way to discover new (to me anyway)artists.. recommended

Please keep supporting new Scottish music and stay away fae "Simple Minds"!
Supporting bands the right way
Supporting bands the right way. A membership well worth paying for. Never quite sure what will turn up in the post is part of the pleasure - had not bought much new music for a while and would never have found my way to great stuff like Constant Follower or Wojtek the Bear.
Happy Customer from California 😁
I ran into LNFG label when Peter Capaldi decided to use them to front his next album. What originally was a CD pre-order became a membership with a copy of the year's releases and the milk white PC vinyl with signed liner.
Julia was in touch every step of way when it came to prepping for delivery. Only wish teleportation existed so I could come out to see PC at end of July!
What a fine little label that brings indie singers and bands forward and experiment. Keep doing what you're doing!
TIME IS TOO SHORT FOR THIS OFFENSIVE INDIVIDUAL
Too old and time is too short to try and deal with these people . Due to medical issues it takes me 6 hours just to prepare to travel to Glasgow but it just isn't worth it when you don't know what they have for sale.
Website shows items and give details of limited editions but when you try and find out what they have in stock before buying it's like getting blood out a stone.
Just not worth the bother . Will stick to Ebay from now on.
Re Reply :- As others on here have said a rude, nasty and offensive person and all I wanted to do was buy from his Shop. I was buying and selling records before this guy was born obviously respect for elders not to mention elders that are terminally ill is clearly something this individual has never heard of.
Better places to spend my money in the time I have left.
No doubt this review will get a similar piece of written offensive vulgarity.
Why anyone would buy from someone who clearly places no value on their custom and views customers as crap on the sole of their shoe is beyond me.
Civility costs nothing !!

Beware - never ships anything on time
Seller never ships goods on time and when you complain he responds with a volley of abuse blaming you for his poor service and how you buying things from him is exploiting his business. Based on the previous reviews on here, I cannot wait for the tirade that will inevitably be coming my way!!!

LNFG
I often find that the best way to rate a business is how they deal with the situation when something goes wrong. With this in mind the experience I had with LNFG was perhaps the worst I have ever encountered. As a long time member of their subscription service I would have expected them to bend over backwards when the records I ordered weren't delivered. You would kind of expect an apology at the very least. But no, the term apology is not in their lexicon. Week after week, month after month with no sign of the records being sent out, despite several enquiries, I received nothing but a tirade of abuse from owner Ian Smith. This guy is a thoroughly despicable individual who frequently disparages customers on facebook and via LNFG mailouts. The records did eventually turn up more than 4 months late, but not the exclusive member versions I had signed up for. This wretched, petty individual had deliberately substituted the colour vinyl variants with inserts for the standard versions. Needless to say I am no longer a member. Pitiful, poor and unprofessional.

Excellent service and Skids vinyl
Hi,
Just wanted to say what an excellent pressing the Skids 1978 - 1980 vinyl is.
The sound quality of the vinyl is superb.
Communication re updates on the release kept me informed as it was a pre-order.
Thank you and your team for another excellent release on your label.
Looking forward to The Armoury Show new release.
Cheers
Mani
Very very slow and wrong record sent
Record shops and record sellers often speak of having a tough time surviving and yet here's one that seems to be rather indifferent to customer service and perhaps will wonder why they lose repeat customers. My record order was delayed by around 5-8 weeks. Yes there was correspondence during the long waiting time but this was about delays in issuing signed versions of the record. I actually thought I'd ordered a signed version - but apparently not. There was also promotional mail-outs sent which was rather insulting as the record I wanted hadn't even arrived yet. The record finally came today and the dusk blue vinyl version I ordered appears to have bleached white in the post - they sent the wrong record. I cannot be bothered to even liaise with the record supplier as I have no faith it can resolve anything and life is too short. There are other record suppliers out there.

I am a complicated customer. LNFG is top.
I am a complicated customer. I live in France. Since Brexit, I have relied on LNFG for most of the Scottish music that I like to follow. I also get tempted by other stuff as they often offer special deals at random moments. Ian sends the vinyl bundles to Mum's UK address twice a year and I pick them up when visiting. Occasionally, and I mean very occasionally, there is a mix up or maybe a delivery fail. Whenever this has happened, Ian has been quick off his feet to sort it out. All communication is polite and friendly and at the end of the day, the music arrives and I'm more than happy. Especially as I know that the funds are ploughed back in to supporting Scotland's young and old music scene.
Non delivery / response for pre-order
Attended China Crisis gig, bought an advance copy 'voucher' for greatest hits (mate also bought two). Never arrived for either of us. Have written to the organiser, no response. Assumed delayed production - album clearly in shops now. Very poor after sales response. Even if error, feel ripped off.
