Hi there, I think your staff and the store is great, however I would have given you 5 stars except there was a rather curt young lady who served me at the end when taking my money and it kind of ruined the whole experience for me. I felt very under valued when leaving and didnt appreciate her attitude as she made quite a few mistakes, like forgetting to take of the 20% you offered. Up until that point I thought it was superb.

False information.

False information.
Your website claims all your glasses and sunglasses have Zeiss lenses. I phoned before ordering and was told we only use Zeiss lenses. The sunglasses arrived, no Zeiss etching on rear of lens. Phoned, was told only prescription lenses are Zeiss!
I wonder if Zeiss know what you are doing? I have already informed trading standards.

Hi, thanks for your honest review. I'm sorry for this confusion - we certainly don't intend to imply that our sunglass lenses are made by Zeiss. We are currently training up some new staff who we feel will be terrific for our store experience, however it is a process and I apologise if you received unclear information while they are getting to grips with the product catalogue. We can arrange for Zeiss sunglass lenses to be fitted, so please feel free to specify next time you're in the store and we can have these made up for you. Thanks

My daughter and I booked an appointment…

My daughter and I booked an appointment for an eyetest in the store. Came back the following week. Waited to be served - it to be told that you do not do eye tests for young teenagers. We wasted a lot of time - and it was meant to be a special experience for my daughter becoming a grown up and getting grown up glasses.... She was very disappointed... My treat to her turned into a tiring disaster. As glasses buying goes - would have struggled to be a worse experience.

Hi Kaihaan, thanks for this honest review - I'm very sorry that you didn't receive the service and experience you expect from Kite. While we'd love to serve Kite customers of all ages, we don't have the very specific technology and equipment needed to conduct eye tests on teens under 16 years of age. It's clearly a communication issue in this instance, which we will seek to address - we are currently training up a number of new (and very competent) staff members, but I'm afraid they weren't yet briefed on this particular detail at the time of your visit. I hope you'll accept my apologies and consider visiting us in the future. Thanks

Great product but service lacked

Great product, price and eye test. However downside when I came to choose glasses the sales staff member (stylist) seemed completely not interested in serving me. Barely spoke no eye contact and seemed to want to be anywhere else than serving me.

Happy with end product but overall experience not great.

It has taken rediculously long for the…

It has taken rediculously long for the company to make my glasses... I’ve used Kite several times before and been so happy with how straight forward and easy it was! But this time hasn’t been good at all!!!

With our in-house lab, we do try to deliver orders as soon as we can. But sometimes (and we’re not making excuses), with more complicated orders or special lenses, it may take us a bit longer.

Awful

Awful , very unreliable service, last minute multiple cancellations. I do not recomended Kite.

On the day of your eye test, our optometrist was very unwell and not able to come in. We are truly sorry for this. As a result, we are expanding our optometry team to ensure that we have cover if this happens again.

To be honest 1 star is 1 star too many.

To be honest 1 star is 1 star too many.

Great service from the optometrist and was then handed over to a sales assistant.

Very friendly service but delivered in a very condescending, over-bearing, "Shoreditch" manner, (to be fair it is in Shoreditch, so to be expected) after which I was pretty much cajoled into buying a pair of £150 glasses, that I wasn't really sure about, something that I told the sales assistant.

I was then told that my glasses should be ready for collection in about a week or so!!!!

On getting home I did a little research on Kite's website and saw that had I bought online I would have had my glasses sent to my home address for free, I emailed Kite and asked if they could post the glasses to me, they were very happy to do so.

On receiving my glasses, I really didn't like them. Looking on their website I was in luck to see that I could return my glasses within 30 days if I wasn't 100% satisfied, something that I was not told previously. The returns policy says -
"Return delivery is free when you use our prepaid return label. Please contact Customer Care (see Contact page for details)."

No label was provided in my delivery, I really got the feeling that they did not want me to utilise the return policy. I emailed Kite and asked for a prepaid return label, they did better and sent a courier to collect the glasses the same day, the couriers tracking app told me that Kite received the glasses. I sat back very happy with the returns procedure and waited the 3 days promised to receive the refund.

Suffice to say that I did not receive my refund after 3 days however I understand that things do take time so I sent an email to ask when I would receive my refund, apart from the automated "thank you for contacting us" email, my email went unanswered, so 4 days later I sent the same email, this also went unanswered.

I waited 2 days for a response and gone none. I felt I was being treated very rudely and unfairly so I sent a further email in which I regrettably threatened legal action if I did not receive my refund immediately, funnily enough I received a phone call from Kite where a very nice representative proceeded to concoct a cock and bull story about somebody being away and not answering emails "blah, blah, blah". I received my refund a couple of days later.

In short:-
- Pushy, verging on rude sales techniques
- Did not inform me of 100% satisfaction guarantee
- Did not initially supply any means of return
- Tried to withhold my refund, I can only assume as some kind of punishment for returning the glasses that I had made clear to the sales assistant that I wasn't sure about.

Steer clear, all frills but no knickers!!!!!!

We are reviewing the literature which arrives with deliveries to make it easier and more efficient to return items. Our 100% ‘satisfaction’ guarantee is something we’re very proud to offer but it appears we need to do better communicating this. Finally, we aim to respond to all emails and communications within 24-48 hours so in this instance our processes have again let you down. We are putting in measures to ensure this isn’t repeated.

Kite eyewear love love love

I already had and loved a pair of KITE sunglasses but after having an eye test in the amazing new shop my appreciation of the brand reached new levels. High design standards. Highly recommended!

empty promises & disappointing experience

The short version of my experience. "I would like to glaze my own frame and looking for 1.74 or thinner zeiss lenses, how much would you charge?" - "we have a flat fee £100 for all single vision lenses. "
''ok, I'll go for it. My frame is very loose, can you ajust it? "-" yes, we'll go it after your frame arrives within 5-10 working days. "

That was was promissed. What I got in result:
- frame was over two weeks late, I had to call at least 4 times to chase it.
- the sales assistant attepted to ajust the frame, twisted the handles at different angles. I asked to make them symmetrical, and the girl asked me "what is symmetrical?". Eventually I brought the frame to John Lewis, where it was perfectly ajusted.
- the lenses were thick, much thicker than my current 1.68. The optometrist in John Lewis checked the index, it was not what I was promised at all. I came back to the shop and asked the same girl to provide me with the index details. She started to look for it in the bin. Couldn't find and asked me to call them tomorrow.

I wish I paid 3 times more and had my glasses done sooner and better.
