I first met Mr Ballagan at New Cross Hospital, when he diagnosed a Epiretinol Membrane.
I next sought Mr Ballagans advice privately, when my eyesight began to fail over a very short period of time, and he diagnosed cataracts in both eyes.
Mr Ballagan is very attentive, and always thorough in his examinations and diagnostics. I have never felt rushed during appointments, even when he’s been running late.
Both surgeries at the Nuffield hospital were painless and stress free and the theatre team at the Nuffield were so caring and reassuring - big shout out to the anaesthetists who on both occasions, made a real effort to engage and chat, which was lovely of them!
Mr Ballagan was calm, reassuring and efficient.
The results are excellent in first eye, and as very recent, still improving daily in second eye.

After the way I was let down and poorly treated through the NHS for such a long time, meeting Dr Kam Balaggan was the turning point I desperately needed. I had been struggling badly with my left eye and felt ignored, frustrated, and honestly losing hope that anybody genuinely cared or would help me properly.

The care and attention I received from Mr. Balaggan, his team, the nurses, and the catering staff was outstanding. My vision is now fantastic after cataract surgery; I can see both near and far without glasses, which I never thought would be possible.

Because I was very anxious on the day, the staff went out of their way to put me at ease and reassure me. The procedure itself was quick and painless—I was back in my room before I knew it, enjoying tea and a delicious lunch (the food is outstanding!). Mr. Balaggan's secretary also followed up the day after both surgeries to check on my recovery and was incredibly helpful. I couldn't recommend them more highly

I have always been apprehensive about eye surgery, but having undergone double lens replacement surgery with Mr Balaggan two weeks ago, all I can say is that I wished I had done it many years ago. From the initial consultation through to the follow-up assessment, the whole experience has been incredible. Mr Balaggan explained everything clearly and concisely, including all the potential benefits and risks associated with the procedure. and any question, no matter how trivial, was answered with professionalism and courtesy. From being incredibly short-sighted, my sight improved immediately and is continuing to improve. I can read a book, work at a computer, watch television and drive, all without the aid of glasses. Mr Balaggan recommended the Clareon Vivity lens and the results have been amazing. It has been truly life-changing and l will be forever grateful. Thank you!

Having recently had cataract procedures in both eyes, Mr Balaggan ensured that the experience (on both occasions) was a positive one. Mr Balaggan explained every step with care and empathy, allaying any worries I had, and was reassuring from start to finish, including super aftercare too. My recovery from both procedures was seamless, vision in both eyes is now amazing, and I can drive confidently at night again!!! Thank you too to Debbie, his secretary, always at hand on the other end of the telephone or an email, and to his team of professionals.

After our local eye hospital saying my eye operation was problematic. Both had Cataracts but with other issues. Because of cataracts, my eyesight had deteriorated to the point where it was almost illegal for driving. I therefore resolved our cataract surgery and chose Mr Kam Balaggan as my surgeon. Because I have a lazy eye, I couldn't have trifocal lenses and had to have extended vision lenses. However, the results were remarkable and my eyesight is now almost fully recovered. I will only need glasses for close reading.

Fantastic service from start to finish from Kam and his team. The cataract procedure was completed without any problems and had exceptional sight within 48 hrs. and getting better. No complications thereafter. Everything was explained in detail and in advance.
