My Experince with Kalam and Future Group

I'm working with Kalam and Future Group for more than a year now, the team is very friendly and respectful, whenever I need help they're always there for me. Further more, the payment is very smooth and is on time every month. They follow every standard in a modern team management, and they always use a great plan to face any challenges as a team.

Edit: No one forced anyone to give positive reviews, this is just my honest experience with the company and I never faced any difficulties with them, and again they use the best strategies to deal with any challenges as a team.

Great supervisors and interpreter relationship

Great supervisors who make it easy to look forward to a Monday. My problems were solved immediately to help with meeting kpi needs. I love the group I am in now and I would like them to continue as they care for the problems we have by having monthly and biweekly meetings and solving issues we have as interpreters. Will continue working here. Love fg under tbw 💖💖

No improvement possible

No improvement possible. Low pay, no respect towards employees, their whole bussines model is based on hiring unexperienced interpreters and milking them as much as possible. The recruiters, and interviewers barely speak English, the pre-onboarding process is a farce - making me purchase a ring light, a horrible good-for-nothing headset and 3 backdrops that I DIDN’T EVEN USE IN THE END since they wanted me on the OPI line.
When I switched to VRI I found out they’re using a virtual backdrop and basically any flat monochromatic surface would work just fine.
They make you work for 5$/hour, I negotiated 5.5$ (and they still tried to scam me twice and on a payroll it stated that my rate is 5$ instead of 5.5$).
During my first month I didn’t not confirm my hours on Transparent by a set deadline (because of site error) and their “support guys” were supposed to help me which obviously didn’t happen.
Because of these indiscrepancies, they didn’t pay me for the first two months (I got the money later) but if I weren’t living with my parents at the time I wouldn’t be able to pay my bills, get groceries etc.
And then there is the management, your supervisors… To be completely truthful I don’t want to bash most of the supervisors since they are following their company’s horrible policy but there is one person that should be mentioned and it’s Mr Ahmed Samir - watchdog mentality, very rude and disrespectful, at times creepy as hell sending me dozens of messages and calling me 10-15 times on whats app after I started my shift 4 minutes late. Honestly I wouldn’t even waste my time writing this review if not for the people I’ve worked and passed the training with. We still have two whats app group chats and today another person quit (found a better job) so I thought maybe my review could help someone avoid this bad experience. From around 60 people who passed the trainings (two training batches) 2 or 3 still work there.
There are many other companies out there that hire “entry level” interpreters so please don’t waste your time with Kalam/Future Group.

They should be heavily fined

They should be heavily fined. They literally offered me a freelance contract which is the same as nothing and a payment lower than the minimum wage for a job that requires to be at least bi-lingual and even requires you to dress a certain way since I would be interpreting the interactions between medics and patients. It's nothing but a shamefully display of corporate greed, a scam and at least for me it would be illegal to work for 4€/h yes 4€/h to be an interpreter. It could be a joke but unfortunately it's not.

Unprofessional Management, A Waste of Time, Energy and Money

I had a terrible experience with this company. I applied for a medical interpreting position and was accepted after the interview. For two weeks, I communicated back and forth with someone named Mohamed Yasser, who kept asking me to edit my setup repeatedly, the background, lighting, camera, headset, etc. I ended up purchasing several items just to meet their requirements.
I also signed all the contracts they sent, submitted every document they asked for and followed all instructions carefully.
At one point, Mohamed Yasser told me I needed to take a third branding photo, which he said was the final step. Then, just an hour and a half later, he sent me an email claiming I hadn’t submitted ANY documents!!!! when I proved I had, he simply replied with “yes dear, the documents are being reviewed"??????? with no explanation or even an apology for his previous email
And after all that, after I submitted everything exactly as requested
they completely ghosted me. No replies to follow-up emails, nothing.
This entire process was a waste of time, energy, and money.

I applied, they accepted application and later said they are not hiring.

I applied for Spanish interpreter, Hazem Aly sent me an email saying "Thank you for your application for the VRI Medical interpreter Vacancy position. After reviewing your resume, we’re pleased to inform you that your qualifications meet our initial requirements.
We’d like to invite you to an interview. Please use the link below to schedule a time that works best for you". I scheduled a call by Zoon according his calendar.
The day of the interview he didn't show up.
I sent an e-mail saying he had scheduled a call with me and asking if he was going to join or not.
He replied: "Hello dear, Kindly note that I’m not hiring Spanish interpreters at the moment"

This is very disrespectful. They accepted my application, they scheduled a zoom call on the same day and they didn't show up because they are not hiring anymore? Very unprofessional, this is a waste of time.

NIGHTMARE

I worked for Future Group Language Solutions for three miserable months. However, the recruitment process started almost 6 months before that. I had applied for an interpreter position, and at first, everything seemed normal. I received an initial offer of $5 per hour—which is an absolutely offensive rate—but I was desperate, as I’m sure most of the people who work for them are. This company takes advantage of people living in developing countries because they know we don’t have many opportunities.

The recruiter I dealt with was named Ashrakat Youssef, and she was the most unprofessional person I have ever come across. The lack of communication from her was unbelievable. She had her camera off during the interview, didn’t allow for any discussion regarding the rate, and for every three emails I sent her, she’d respond to only one—if that.

After the first interview, I attended a pre-onboarding session where they explained the next steps: a branding photo session and meeting certain technical requirements. This turned into a nightmare. They asked for a grey background, a ring light, and professional attire—all of which I had. But nothing ever satisfied them. First, they said the shade of grey was wrong, so I bought a new backdrop. Then they said the lighting was too harsh, so I got another ring light. It was one thing after another, and this dragged on for four months. During that time, they were clearly stalling because they had no actual position for me.

Eventually, I was placed in a (supposedly paid) two-week training session, followed by the ALTA test. Depending on your score, you’d either work for MNX or IMS. I passed the ALTA with a high score, which made me eligible to work on MNX. I received an email stating that I had been placed on a waitlist and would be contacted when a position became available.

About two months later, Ashrakat contacted me again and offered me another training for MNX, this time promising I’d start working immediately afterward. I agreed, repeated the training, passed the ALTA test again, and finally started working.

That’s when the real nightmare began.

From day one, I was subjected to constant harassment by the supervisor—especially Ahmed Samir—who made work unbearable. Future Group has a WhatsApp group called “MNX Coverage,” which is used to enforce one of their worst policies: if you have an emergency (such as a power outage, internet issues, or any personal problem), you must find someone to cover your shift. If you can’t, they deduct 20% from your salary—on top of not paying you for the hours you missed. Yes, you read that right: they don’t pay you for the hours missed, and then they still penalize you by reducing your salary further.

They know that 90% of their workforce lives in developing countries—some without reliable internet—and yet they make impossible demands. They are utterly unprofessional and have zero compassion for their employees.

According to the terms of my contract, I was supposed to be paid for the two weeks of training upon the third payment cycle. When the time came, they denied it, saying, “We never stated you’d be paid for the training.” These people are crooks.

I haven’t even touched on the verbal abuse employees endure. The horror stories I heard from my colleagues were endless. Future Group preys on inexperienced interpreters who are desperate for work. I have colleagues who are paid $3.50 per hour—which is vile.

My message is to the companies giving Future Group contracts—Martti, Boostlingo, Voyce: STOP.
They are mistreating their employees, cutting salaries unfairly, and violating contracts left and right.

The worst company.

The worst business to deal with

Among the worst workplaces I've ever been to. The supervisors, who are, quite honestly, the worst team I've ever seen, make the absurdly low pay even worse. I strongly advise staying away from Kalam.cx (Future Group) completely. Each month, they defraud you by taking a portion of your paycheck and paying you less than what is due.

Don't join them if you don't want to waste time or end each day feeling irate. What about all those five-star reviews? They are phony; their internal team or supervisors posted them. The job itself was the worst experience I've ever had, and the training was hardly a 6 out of 10. I feel foolish for ever putting my trust in these people.

I had an interview last week. They said i passed and send me technical requirements and very specific instructions about the setup to prepare by Friday.
Spent a lot of energy and money preparing everything… i sent pictures of my setup on Thursday, no answer. Friday, no answer. Today its Monday, finally they decided to answer my 20th text to tell me that the vacancy got postponed.

Unreliable company

- Low wages, different agents have compensations offered (even within the same language pairs).
- Deductions with unclear rules and no communication (eg. they would apply 'x'% deduction to your salary, would not inform about it. Only if you ask they give you a random reason such as "you missed a call last month", the % of deductions are random, too).
- You work as a freelancer, yet you have to sit there 40h a week, 8h a day as in a regular job and they call you weekly to check your KPI as you were an agent in a corporate company.
- They are not flexible at all, you cannot choose what days and timeshifts you work.
- If you ask them anything, they tend not to respond. I have asked them multiple times about the company's data (such as legal name, address and tax number), because as a freelancer in my country you have to declare where you are getting money from, and I never got that information from them. So I assume they are not a legitimate entity.
