Locked out due to faulty mechanism.
I waited 2 hours for a visit and was told by the locksmith on arrival it would cost me £150 to gain entry to my home.
A crowbar was used and the faulty mechanism removed, taking a total time of about 5 minutes.
Even though I would need a new lock, he was not going to leave without payment, so I had to pay online whilst he waited in my house.
I was told by said locksmith that he only lived 2 miles away from me and I therefore want to register my extreme disapproval at the cost of the entry and the way in which it was handled. I felt that I was taken advantage of because of the emergency nature of my position.

We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. Just to clarify. We gave you a price to gain access over the phone which you agreed. We updated you as we were running behind due to unforeseen circumstances.
On arrival your Upvc door mechanism had collapsed, the only and best way to open is to use spreading tools to gain access causing no damage very quickly. We advised you would need a new multipoint mechanism which we gave you a price for and you agreed. We ordered the required parts which you cancelled leaving us out of pocket. We did not take a deposit for any parts as we trust our customers. On completion of work payment is due. You said “I will make payment again”. We said payment is on completion of work. We agreed then that you would make a BACS payment which I gave you our bank details. “You wouldn’t walk out of a shop without paying for your goods”. We hope this helps reflects a true reflection. We hope you got your front door fixed and wish you all the best.
