Assault at NCB Old Harbour
I went to NCB Old Harbour on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, and I had a horrible experience for the most part.
It was a busy day, so the line was very long. When I reached the lobby area, I was still waiting for some time, so I decided to go about a chain or two away to conduct some other business. I indicated to the customers both behind and ahead of me that I would return shortly. I also mentioned it to one of the Guardsman security guards, but I do not recall receiving confirmation from him; hence, I am uncertain if he heard me clearly.
On my return at about 11:30 a.m., those who were ahead of and behind me were already inside the main building. I indicated to the security guard that I had been in the line and had gone nearby to conduct other business. I also gave a brief description of the customers who were in my vicinity. Of course, I am aware that anyone can say he/she was in the line, but he did not even attempt to verify this. Instead, he told me to rejoin the line. I replied that I would not, as it was too long. He then responded, "Well, yuh naah com in yah todeh!", and he pushed me three to four times. This constitutes assault.
I made a phone call and was instructed to report the matter to the police, as the station is located across from NCB. I did so, but the police treated the matter as a joke. I gave a statement, but I did not realise that I had not been asked to sign it until after reaching home. The officer who took the statement told me that I should instead report the matter to Guardsman Security. I asked how I could do so without a name or badge number, and I also stated that the least he could do was accompany me to the bank to speak with the security guard. After a lengthy wait, he did.
He spoke to the guard, after which he told me not to escalate the matter any further. I made it abundantly clear that I would. I eventually went inside and spoke to another guard, informing him that I would like to speak with a manager. He followed the proper procedure, and I waited a while before speaking with a supervisor. She spoke with the guard involved before calling me in. She was apologetic, but because I did not suffer any physical harm, I do not believe the matter was taken very seriously. However, she ensured that I received assistance with the business I had come to conduct.
This is clearly an assault, and I intend to escalate the matter further. No one has the right to touch another person in that manner. I question whether he would behave this way toward his mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, spouse, daughter, or niece. Some men show a lack of regard for women, and this must be addressed.
The Guardsman Group must ensure that their security guards are properly trained, NCB must ensure that every complaint is treated seriously and that appropriate action is taken, and the police must carry out their duties with professionalism and integrity. This was an extremely distressing experience for me.

I wish I could give a -0/10, not even 0 /10. I have been a customer for years with NCB, not only that my entire family and some friends used them as well. I think there is something weird happening within that bank, I keep paying my bills, flow, insurance etc before due date and I am getting emails for arrears and also calls. Why? Because NCB didn’t send over the funds! I have to be calling customer service to raise case # for it to be sorted. Most recently sent money to a scotia account, it’s almost a month tomorrow, still no money seen, they told me it is all sorted , then wrong info used, which I proof that there wasn’t any wrong info used. It’s ACH it takes time , but I know it doesn’t take a month. The merchant ask for written proof so they can present to their receiving bank to investigate. What did NCB do, ignore my concern and said issue resolve because they have sent i. I will advise anyone who reads this to empty your accounts and go somewhere else of value. As for me and family, we will be removing all and closing our accounts. Good bye NCB!! Horrible experience!!!
Pointless Institution
I don't want to refer to them as a bank, because that's an insult to the banking sector. It's like banking with a village full of special needs individuals, where up means down and down means up (nothing makes sense). I made an international transaction, the bank stopped my payment as they thought it might be fraud, but still charged a $600 transaction fee. I rang up to complain, only to be told, We know it's unfair, but as you tried to make the payment, we still have to charge you. I was told it takes 24/48 hours to remove the block (why can't it be done instantly?), and I would also need to pay the transaction fee again. What planet are these people on? Their policies are like a 3-year-old has written them. Every time I call they hang up the phone, or say they have technical issues, or can never really solve the problem, and when they can, the time it takes, you could of flown to Jamaica to resolve the issue in person. This bank is awful, they have ZERO common sense.

Customer service is slow
Customer service is slow. I have been waiting in the customer service line for over 30 minutes. And the guy didnt even have the curtesy say, "give me some time, l'm working on something esle." Every few minuets he gets up walk across the floor all while there is more than half a dozen people waiting.
Tight Policies
My credit card was restricted since September 2024 because an unauthorized person tried to use it. And I have been trying to sort it out from then. I have been referred to their online platforms, "manage my cards" "close my credit card", but they just don't work! Luckily for them they have good workers like Andre who helped me sort it out after 10 months of trying. I had to pay the annual fee before I could get it done. No consideration was given to me, seeing that I had been struggling to get a replacement card or close the account for 10 months. There policy says I have to pay the annual fee or I would be unable to close the account. This bank has no heart. And is operated only by its policies. That's a terrible rip off of customers.

Do NOT trust NCB!!! I have never been a customer of NCB, but I have been getting emails where NCB has been sharing one of their client's private information with me. I told them in August 2021 that I did not recognize the transaction and remove me from their email list, but they didn't. It is now June 2025 and for FOUR YEARS they have done NOTHING to change it though I keep asking them to fix it. I continue to get private emails about banking clearly belonging to someone else! They stop taking loan from saving without authorization so the loan would be late and charge a late fee, when I found out I started sending money directly to loan account. From March I told almost all the money in the savings and put on the loan account determine not to have a late payment so money in the saving was less than the loan payment and quest what NCB did leave the money on the loan account and took from the savings that was not enough then charge me a late fee.
