Jet2, OKmobility, rentalcover.com on notice.
As part of our holiday package we included car hire and full cover car hire insurance. The rental car company was OK mobility, the insurance company was Rentalcover.com. All arranged as “add on” through Jet2.
We returned the car as instructed with full tank and no damage, placing the keys in the Dropbox. On return home we received a charge of £712.04 (£20 non sterling charge). We contacted the insurance to make our claim, and we were informed by rentalcover.com that we needed documentation and invoices from the car hire company to process the claim.
We contacted OKmobility who have still not replied (3months).
We contacted Jet2, two automated email replies and one customer service call later, still no documentation.
We returned home on the 25/10/24, sent our claim in 28/10/24.
When I called the Jet2 customer service line 6/12/24 I was informed that complaints up to 16/10/24 are currently being handled.
I have spoken today 13/12/24 to a representative from rentalcover.com (which is handled by a call centre), and been informed the charges are for “missing fuel” (the document charge for this is £150.00) and “vehicle damage”? When I asked for the documents to be forwarded to us to enable our claim, I was informed that we had to request from the car hire company OKmobility.
The car hire insurance cover extends for 3months from end of protection dates. Fortunately we placed a credit card down to cover the £1200.00 deposit, the bank has stepped into recover funds paid out, but this process is potentially a further 45 days.
If there is any connection between OKmobility and rentalcover.com this would seem to be a scam, and Jet2 must vet their partners thoroughly.
We have been given the run around for 3months it’s been stressful and frustrating to be met with no assistance and fictitious claims.

I could not believe how many bad reviews I found for Jet2 car hire. My experience was complete opposite. This was a second time we hired a car via Jet2 as we have traveled with them several times and it was always pleasure experience for us.
First time we booked a car in Sibenik, Croatia pre-Covid. This time we needed a car for 5 days in Montenegro (October 2024). Everything went smooth. From the choice Jet2 gave us via their websites I carefully chose Alamo, not the cheapest not the most expensive. Car (Renault Clio) was ready for us at Tivat airport (we had already been in Montenegro for a couple of days) at the agreed time. The procedure was quick and efficient, communication was done in good English. The second day we had really bad puncture "in the middle of nowhere". We called Alamo team and they came in 1 hour with a new car for us. Yes, of course we had to pay tyre replacement but it was covered by the premium axa insurance offered in Jet2 website as well. In the return we were delayed by an accident on our road and had to once again call Alamo team and agreed return next day. The return itself was as smooth as the pick up.
Overall I might use Jet2 website again but also I would do my own research of those car hire companies independently. I found Jet2 prices cheaper. The confirmation email with paperworks came immediately so win win.
Duplicate car rental as no email booking confirmation/voucher received
In July 2024 we attempted to book a car with Jet2 for our Holiday to Kefalonia and wanted to do it all together to make it easier to keep track of everything. However it was a couple of weeks later that we realised we could see no car hire email confirmation for Jet2 car hire. We double checked our emails and spam and could find no email confirmation with booking reference or voucher etc. We called Jet2 to get the details and was told that there was no car hire for Kefalonia. We checked our credit card and could not see any payment to Jet2 car hire. Whilst we were a little surprised that there appeared to be no booking, as we had no reference, email confirmation and having been told there by Jet2 that there was no booking, we thought we'd better get some booked. When I called I was offered a quote by Jet2 but we compared prices and eventually booked it through Trip.com. We immediately received an email confirmation with a voucher and their terms and conditions. So on arrival at the Thrifty/Hertz car rental desk at Kefalonia airport, we were shocked to discover 2 car rentals in our name. We handed over the Trip.com voucher and went ahead with the car rental thru them. We explained that we had no knowledge of a rental made through Rentalcars.com by Booking.com but we did start to worry. Thrifty said they wouldn't cancel the booking in case there was another booking but that they would email us if no one turned up, which no-one did. Thrifty provided us with the reference number and left it with us to sort it out. We then spent the next 3 hours trying to get it sorted, checking emails, the Jet2 and Booking.com apps and made several telephone calls. We eventually discovered that there was a payment and booking with rentalcars.com? They eventually agreed to cancel the rental and after much back and forth agreed to refund 8 of the 11 days car rental. We were extremely disappointed with Jet2 , there was no confirmation email, no booking showing on Jet2 app or website and no booking according to their call centre.
Yes we have been refunded some but argue that if we had received confirmation we would have never duplicated the car hire booking, so continue to battle with Jet2 to get our point across and the remainder refunded.

Won't use Jet2 car hire again!
When booking flights to Mallorca in May I noticed that car hire from RecordGo was cheaper when booking through Jet2 than direct. Thinking this was a no brainer as I always use the two companies independently, I booked both the flights and car hire paying for the insurance upgrade to fully cover the vehicle for any accident or damage. Immediately I had confirmation of the flights and car insurance but not the vehicle hire. After chasing Jet2 I was assured the booking had been made.
On arrival at RecordGo the car was indeed waiting but a €900 bond needed to be paid to cover any damage. On explaining that I'd already paid and showing the insurance companies email I was told the policy didn't cover their vehicles and paid another £140 something pounds instead of the bond.
I have always booked car hire direct with the RecordGo and will keep doing so avoiding Jet2 car hire at all costs.

I rented car from Wheego in Alicante recently, they were recommend by JET2.com . What a total scam! I’m surprised that Wheego is supported by both JET2.com & booking.com ?
Just like the other reviews, when I arrived to return car, a company representative came to check the car. She found immediately a single small hole barely visible to the eye. She found this tiny chip immediately & unless you know exactly where it was you would never be able to find it. But she "weirdly" went straight away to the tiny "damage ”. Then her aggressive boss a threatened to call the police when I took my own photos! I knew right then i was being scammed. . I have now been charged my entire 900 Euro deposit (to the penny) for this. JET2's Introduction to this recommend car hire company has been one of the worst care hire experiences ever, they also refuse to help me! I will never use either of them again!

I wish I’d seen these reviews before I booked a hire car!! I am unable to print off my car hire voucher and have had no help from Jet2. They have directed me to rentacar who are unable to retrieve my booking details. Luckily we do not go on holiday until 2 weeks time so I will have to pay out for another car and hope to try and get my money back from Jet2…….wish me luck and avoid at all costs!!!

Avoid at all costs! I had difficulty downloading the car hire voucher and rang the customer service to ask to help. They had no idea how to solve the issue as the 'system was down' and could not even send the voucher via an email! Instead they said they would cancel and refund me...all a day before I was due to travel....shear incompetence all round and perhaps a blessing in disguise as the company clearly have no idea how to treat customers...so bad it was embarrassing 😳

Absolutely shocked at my Jet2 car hire experience. Trust the brand and have used Jet2 for years re flights and holidays but this was the first time using them for car hire. As I presumed they simply act as an agent and your car hire is through a local resort company. In Greece for me the company was called Autonation who are an awful company. On return of the car they were clearly desperate to add additional charges for “specialist cleaning’ that wasn’t justified. I refused to pay and returned to the UK. On my return I’ve noticed that this company has debited my credit card without my permission for the cleaning fee (I unfortunately had to give them a swipe of my card on hiring the car). I’ve had to block my credit card to prevent them taking further amounts.
Shocked that this happened and shocked when I then did a search on Trustpilot to see what a poor service Jet2 car hire provide when I feel all other aspects of the Jet2 business is trustworthy and reputable.
I wouldn’t use them again as they clearly don’t vet the car hire companies they pass you onto.

We book a car with them. Flight was 2 hours late and nobody waited for us to give us the car. Next day reservation was cancelled by the local supplier so we weren’t able to get the car the next day. After ask for refund they keep me almost 50£ for nothing. Awful experience. Just dont use them and book a car the time you arrive at your destination.

After paying over £3400 the room at the San Antonio hotel was very poor it over looked a very busy main road with a sports bar right in front of balcony 2nd night bathroom flooded had to wait for maintenance 4th night couldn't get into safe had to wait in for maintenance and the last straw was when we were locked out of room for 2hours because electronic lock broke plus it stated air-conditioning but none was available when I asked about it I was told we only switch it on certain times a day and told they weren't allowed to tell me when this was it was never on very disappointed

Avoid at all costs. I naively trusted Jet2 car hire as their flights and customer care are so good. 1. Jet2 car hire is a front for other companies. 2. The terms and conditions bear no relationship to the actual product, i.e in terminal pickup meant for us a corner in the carpark waiting for a bloke to pick us up and drive 0.15 minutes to their office. 3. We got extra insurance £130.97 for a week, but wasn't worth the paper it was written on, got charged extra £324.25 I did scrape the sill of the car, but we had the extra insurance cover. Initially I refused to pay, they threatened me with the police, yes do call them I said but they didn't, then the guy went next door and got 3 of his male mates in, very threatening, and wouldn't drive us back to the airport until we had paid. Jet2 refused to help, only repaid the £32 which we had been charged for the satnav, there wasn't one! Boycar Antalya avoid! Barclay card were fabulous and did reimburse me.

Absolutely disgraceful company, hired a car at Malaga with Fire Fly through them, took the full insurance, when I went to collect the car Fire Fly made me take their full insurance anyone at €195. I couldn’t get back into the terminal to go to another company and was stranded alone in Malaga airport in my own not speaking Spanish! I contacted Jet2 on my return, I complained so much it was ‘escalated’ but basically fobbed off with its nothing to do with them! Well don’t upselling it on your website then!

We rented a car from jet 2 website feeling that we are going to have a stress free experience (thrifty) oh my word how wrong was we 😫 we booked a car and paid in full with full insurance ready for us when we landed in kos airport but our flight was delayed because of passengers having drank to much alcohol and was refused entry on to the flight so we then waited for the cases to be taken off the flight and we all sat on the plane watching and waiting but then as we had missed our slot we sat waiting to be given access to fly which was 90 minutes later. We went to the desk at thrifty to collect our car and was told that after 59minutes we loose the car and will not get our money back we said no we have paid for a car for two weeks so where is our car the man said no show after 59 minutes you loose your car and they had hired it out to someone else and we loose our money so we got a jet 2 rep to come and speak to the car hire man and she said that after talking to him the car was now gone and there was nothing she could do to help So please AVOID
Steal you money
Do not use.
They take the money twice (30th Jan) and even after 6 emails and 2 complaints, they accept the mistake and they still blame internal finance departments and have not repaid the money to date (17th March). They have just emailed me stating they apologise, they do not understand why and they will chase the ticket- 2 months and they have all my money.
Reading other reviews this is a regular occurrence so do not use.
The worst car rental experience ever!
Booked a car through Jet2 thinking it would be a seamless experience and because I trusted the brand. How wrong could I have been!?
After I'd booked my flight to Marco Polo Venice Airport I followed the link to their car hire option and paid in advance, including full protection insurance. Our flight was delayed into Venice by about 30 mins and when we arrived in the terminal there was no sign of 'Target' Car Rentals (the company Jet2 'partners' with) so, having looked again at our rental voucher, I noticed a phone number we were to call to arrange a minibus to the offsite rental office.
When I called the number an extremely rude and unhelpful lady told me that because the office was about to close, I would have to pay an additional €40 Euros for out of hours service. Needless to say I refused, and went back into the terminal building where I took out a new booking with 'Italy Car Rent' who were very friendly and helpful.
I have since contacted Jet2 car rentals who have said they cannot offer me a refund due to 'Terms & Conditions'. I should have notified them the same day apparently, instead of on my return to UK. From a customer experience the overall feeling is one of helplessness and a sense of being robbed. I will never book a car through Jet2 again.

Booked carhire through jet2 as totally trust their brand . However the carhire Recordgo was a rip off and they tried to get extras out of us which have on experience always be included ( woth other carhire). We usually use Sixth of Firefly and have always been very happy with them . I urge Jet2 to review what they are offering customers or they will loose loyal customers.
