Worst experience ever promised the…

Worst experience ever promised the world got nothing
Shocked at the way our campaign was handled
Treated our listing as unimportant
Kept being told to lower our price to get people in knowing quite well what price we were after
We had to suggest an auction (shouldnt Jellis Craig be advising us)
Very few people went through our property in 8 weeks
Total waste of money on marketing they even forgot to list it on realcommercial when we paid for it
(I picked up the discrepancy)

George Pangalos

I'd like to share my recent experience with George Pangalos and his team at Jellis Craig Manningham and Maroondah.

I interviewed George in November 2024 when I was looking for an agent to sell a property in Doncaster for me. George was friendly, enthusiastic and instilled a sense of confidence that other agents I interviewed did not. He also pre-empted many of the questions and ideas that I wanted to discuss – again, something the other agents did not.
In a very short period of time, George developed a marketing strategy that I believed was sound, realistic and, as it happened, very effective.

George is a great communicator. He kept me informed and up to date every step of the way – from our first meeting, throughout the marketing campaign and on the day of auction. Jellis Craig’s on-line analysis was continually updating with current information during the whole process. George's knowledge of the local market proved invaluable and combining this with his experience and auctioneering performance resulted in a very satisfactory outcome for me. I would not hesitate to recommend George and his team to anyone looking for exceptional property sales service.

No cares in the world

I sold my house using Jellis Craig Doncaster and they make it very obvious once the house is sold that they don't really value your business. Settlement was in December and they didn't even bother sending a gift. It's now February so I assume I won't be getting one. Most places at least send a bottle of wine or a voucher. If you want to feel appreciated as a vendor go elsewhere! They got thousands out of me as a vendor but couldn't even spend $10 to make me feel valued!!

Doncaster Rental

Jellis Craig Doncaster - unhelpful and unprofessional

As a first time buyer, Jellis Craig Doncaster (Listing agent Matthew Lockyer) did not leave a very good impression on me. Here's what happened:
We bought a house in Templestowe, it was rental property (agent was Jellis Craig Doncaster!) and the tenants moved out before settlement.
1. At final inspection time the house was dirty, cooking oil dripped from rangehood to cooktop, spiders and spider webs throughout every room inside. When the Assistant /agent Taylah Mcowan open the door for our final inspection, even she was puzzled as to why the house was so dirty. It didn't look like it had been cleaned. The listing agent told me the house is clean, its good enough for selling and no rubbish left behind. He doesn't want me to go back to do another check.
2. My husband went to pick up the keys on settlement day in Doncaster. When he arrived he was given some of the keys and was told he needed to drive again to Ringwood to pick up more keys. I called the office to ask the receptionist could they just send all the keys to the Doncaster office. She said: not guaranteed it will happen. So the buyer needs to drive around various offices picking up keys ??? This is not some kind of video game. Makes no sense.
3. When I asked the agent how to open the garage door, he said the remote key can open it. Ok, but where is the button in the garage or the house? The agent has no idea how the garage operates, or A/C, or the heating etc. I think for the amount commission they are taking, they should at least know how to at least turn the Ac/ or open the garage door from an inside button.
Spend a little time to know your product!!!

In Australia we have provide almost no incentive for real estate agents to make a buyer happy. If you discover a nuisance operational problem, you have only big weapon remedies - either call off the whole sale or sue afterwards. These are unsuitable for small issues. But lucky there are Google reviews - hope you enjoyed mine!

5 Star Service - Nikki Wang from Jellis Craig

We used Nikki Wang from Jellis Craig to sell our home in Doncaster East last month and she was outstanding!

Before choosing to sell our property, Nikki ensured we had the privacy we expected and she promoted our property discreetly.

Through Nikki’s transparency, positive outlook, experience and kind approach a great relationship was nurtured and as a result we would only sell through her and the team at Jellis Craig.

In all of our dealings it was clear Nikki really valued and respected her contacts as she never asked us to sacrifice our asking price and understood how much we loved our property.

Nikki is the 5-star real deal when it comes to real estate. Once Nikki has assisted you with your sale it’s a relationship you would continue as a repeat client. Thank you Nikki! You were imperative in helping us achieve our desired result!

Professional agent

I have found Jellis Craig very professional agent to deal with
The presentation to the way the sale was handle I was always informed and felt very comfortable .
The electronic paper work was a terrific innovation and certainly made doing
business very easy
I would have no hesitation in recommending Jellis Craig

Relationship focused Agent

I have had a connection with Jellis Craig, Doncaster for 8 years. They recently sold the house that I bought 8 years ago. Matthew Dunn sold the home to me 8 years ago and worked efficiently and tirelessly to secure the best possible sale price once I was ready to sell. He maintained contact over the 8 years that was not intrusive and provided advice and suggestions leading up to when I was ready to put the house on the market. His advice on market trends was spot-on. Matthew is highly professional, personable, understanding of the emotion that comes with buying and selling and is relationship-focused.

Shattered

Asked for an appraisal 10mths before deciding to sell. He was impressed with the property and assured us a private sale was the go. Only bringing through genuine buyers who had the finance, etc. Put the house on the market in Feb 2020 - no, they changed their mind it was to be an auction. Paid $$$$s for advertising even though we particularly stated that we did not want a board and ads in paper. The auction was cancelled one week before date due to Covid but expensive brochures we already printed. When we queried the price agent realised we had been overcharged and would give us a refund of part. Months went by and we received nothing then, after 3 reminders, they finally sent us a small amount! Weeks passed and we dropped everything to allow potential buyers to inspect our property and if they made an offer, it was way below our initial discussion of property value which was even lower then Council valuation. Soon no buyers were introduced to our home and then a trickle - same thing. Each offered $$$,$$$s less than our property value. We dismissed Jellis Craig (F and O), Doncaster as soon as was legally possible in November - 9 months after listing our property with not one realistic offer. We engaged another Agent and sold within 7 days.
From a more personal level, our toilet was used 3 times during inspection - twice not flushed and on one occasion found a week later (the smell!!) and on the third occasion seat and cover were left up. Lights were left on after inspection and on one occasion the house was not locked up. Initially, one car was regularly parked in our sloping driveway so agent didn't have to walk up the hill. On at least one occasion, this car was parked so access to our front door was somewhat compromised.
I do not recommend this Agent for their lack of interest and attention to detail. We felt used.

On day one I advised of the locks and other items were not correct. It took 6 weeks to sort out the locks and keys leaving the premises insecure.
