And you call this Service?
What passes for “service” at Jellis Craig
would, in any other industry, be called indifference dressed as professionalism.
The Man sits on his phone as though it were an article of faith, unmoved by enquiry, untroubled by urgency. The Girl cannot muster the minimal competence required to send a link. This is not merely inattentiveness. It is a quiet contempt for the very people upon whom their livelihood depends.
And yet, this is the theatre we now inhabit. A crowded inspection, bodies moving through spaces they cannot secure, each person carrying the small, private anxiety of a market that has outpaced reason. They are not just ignored. They are processed. Reduced to background noise in a system that rewards inertia over effort.
It would be easy to lay this entirely at the feet of the agents and their choice of hopeless Gen Z's, but that would be too generous. This is the downstream consequence of a housing framework that has failed to keep pace with demand, a policy landscape that has allowed scarcity to become spectacle. When supply is strangled, service becomes optional. Why perform, when the queue is endless?
What is most striking is not the incompetence itself, but the acceptance of it. A generation entering the workforce not with hunger, but with a curious detachment. As though the simple disciplines of responsiveness, accountability, and basic courtesy are relics of another age.
I have entrusted this firm with eight sales in the past. That history, it seems, carries no weight. Loyalty has been replaced with amnesia. The relationship between client and agent, once grounded in mutual benefit, has been reduced to a one sided convenience.
Let them continue as they are. Markets have long memories, even when individuals do not. The Robots will be better.

We are deeply touched by our recent experience with Andrew Panagopoulos
We can't thank him enough for his incredible help.
He brought us good fortune on Saturday the 23rd of August 2025, and we truly appreciate his hard work, dedication and expertise he put into helping us in unlocking the opportunity to own a beautiful property.
We feel lucky to have had the chance to meet him in our lives.
Thank you for being an amazing agent and now a fabulous auctioneer.
We look forward to recommend you to our friends and family.

Andrew Panagopoulos- Relationships over Transactions
This is the second time we have used Andrew Panagopoulos to sell our home. We met Andrew 7 years ago, we had just bought a house and he came and introduced himself to us. Andrew is a relationship based agent. He stays in contact, offers information and assistance whether we are in the middle of a transaction or not. When we put this house on the market we didn't need to interview anyone, we invited Andrew over and signed the engagement letter before he headed off to dinner. He has our trust & we can not recommend him enough.
Unprofessional. Disappointing.
The Realtor turns up late to the property inspection, blaming traffic - which is understandable, so they get someone else to open up the property.
When the Realtor turns up, they are rushed and briefly greets some people, mostly talks fast and answers sharply.
We ask to see the carpark of the property - which they take us to the lift for, but doesn’t know if you need a key to come back up (PREP YOUR KNOWLEDGE FOR THE PROPERTY). They are sharply dressed, though it’s hard to not avoid seeing the rip in the back on the suit in the top right corner (DRESS TO IMPRESS). The realtor leaves us to our own devices for a few minutes and we like what we see in the garage area. When we come back up - everyone is basically gone. When I state - ‘oh! Everyone is gone?’ - they reply ‘oh yeah, it’s a 15 minute showing’. The realtor had turned up at the end of the showing and did the bare minimum.
So I simply tell the realtor - $XXX price takes the property? The Realtor says - yes! We say - we’ll take it.
We have a finance clause we want to add and the Realtor says no worries. He does say there’s a ‘no building inspection’ thing in there - but we like the property - so we just go with it. We contact our broker on the spot, but the broker is busy. We organise to deposit the 5% as a direct bank transfer.
The Realtor is fidgety and on his phone, says the property is the best priced in the market. We agree. We ask why the property was back on the market after it sold at auction. Apparently someone bought it - then someone else made a better offer, so they took that - but that fell through and when they went back to the original buyer - they didn’t want it after what they did to them.
He looks like he’s in a rush and hurry. I ask him ‘do you have the time for us to purchase this property’
‘Yeah sure no worries I got time’.
Ok - I think to myself - we don’t want to put you out of your way with a property purchase or anything.
The Realtor gets us to sign documents on his phone with a broken screen - stating sometimes it works when signing (FIX YOUR TECH AND BE PRESENTABLE, YOU ARE SELLING PROPERTY NOT CANDY).
The Realtor becomes real fidgety they have another appointment and ushers us out. That’s fine. The realtor is busy. We leave the property and he leads the way - heading right out the door and basically saying BYE GOTTA GO! While myself and my wife stand in front of the sale sign on the property - we take our own celebration picture and wonder just how much of a rush the realtor is in - still, we don’t let it ruin our happiness (WORK ON YOUR FAREWELL, TAKE TIME TO CELEBRATE WITH THE BUYER, WORK ON YOUR CLOSING SKILLS).
We later find out the property currently has issue with cladding material and there was water damage in some of the building. These things the Realtor was aware of - but didn’t mention the cladding issue flagged for safety which can affect loan applications.
It’s starts coming to light why the property may be cheaper due to the cladding issue that is still being resolved and the water damage to the property previously.
Over the next period of time, the Realtor keeps stating they will call in a text message - but never bothered to call or to show up for a building inspector even though it was planned. I called the Jellis Craig office - they didn’t know where he was and asked me things like ‘did you text him?’ - of course I did. There’s a building inspector that’s been waiting at the property for an hour. The receptionist says ‘you aren’t being charged for the building inspector call out though’ - THATS NOT THE POINT. ITS UNPROFESSIONAL.
Their lack of care instead of customer concern caps off the throughly disappointing, fast talking, money focused poor experience we had.
The realtor we had is a shining example of a realtor who was passionate, hungry and enthusiastic when they first started out - but is now arrogant, complacent and so very bored of the industry.
Very happy
Our overall experience with Jellis Craig has been a positive one. Anthony has been professional, courteous and helpful with any enquires or concerns we have had. It has been a pleasure to deal with him. He has been very prompt with requests and responses to phone calls and in setting up inspection times. Thanks to Anthony we have secured our new home and are ready to start another chapter of our lives.

Very happy with Kosta Mesaritis, had good presale chat, about all the ins and outs of selling, as for those who arent in the business like us, its a whole new world. Discussed possible presale prior to auction and got a great price in the end from him without an auction and saved stress and money of auction, also good work from Tina Verni!! Thanks guys!!

Calvin is highly recommend!
Absolutely fantastic! Calvin is amazing and I highly recommend selling through him. He’s honest, upfront and knows the property market - not easy to find in an agent. When considering selling, contact Calvin at Jellis Craig (Bentleigh).

Two Happy and succesful outcomes acheived by Jellis Craig Bentleigh
Jellis Craig's, Anthony Fordham provided my wife and I with great enthusiasm and extremely professional service in the successful purchase of a new home and the sale of our existing home in Bentleigh East over the past year. His diligence and good nature did not wain over this drawn out time due partly to our specific requirements asked of him to find and the complications of the Covid pandemic. We were ultimately very happy with the results in achieving a very satisfactory outcomes for the sale of our existing home and purchase of a new home meeting most of the fairly demanding criteria we set.
We certainly would not hesitate in recommending Anthony and Jellis Craig Bentleigh to anyone requiring an honest and hardworking real estate agent.

We went to an auction listed by Jellis…
We went to an auction listed by Jellis Craig for 1/15 Hemingford Road in Bentleigh East today, supposed to be at 11am (cold and rainy day). Got there at 10.45am, and there is a SOLD sign on the board. No sign of agent of course. There were at least 10 cars pulled in and we were disappointed.
Happy for the owner selling it before action
Bad customer service from Jellis Craig Bentleigh as considered our time was nothing. Understand that it could be a busy week, just took it off the real east website so we know and don’t waste our time. If it was sold even 30 minutes before action, Jellis Craig Bentleigh must have one of their staff at the unit to explain what was happening.
Need better customer service.

Professional and proactive throughout…
Professional and proactive throughout the entire selling process.
Both Nick and Rob delivered a great campaign, they ensured they communicated with us through the process from checking in after open inspections to ensuring what was a stressful scenario having to change plan at the last minute due a snap lockdown was managed smoothly. We felt confident and comfortable working with Nick, Rob and the whole Jellis Craig team!
