Noisy Equipment Repairs
Machines should be repaired out of hours or at least in less busy times. Today I had to cut my workout short as the treadmill next to me was being repaired by a very noisy, clumsy engineer. It didn't even say the machine was out of order so I had no idea someone would be coming next to me for maintenance. He was using an extremely noisy electric screwdriver throwing the casings he removed all over the place. It was so off putting I had to come off the machine. I did raise this with a member off staff who said repairs could only be done whilst they are open. I suggested that perhaps it would be better is the contractors came at less busy times. Perhaps early in the morning or late in the evening but she said they don't start work until 9am!!! I appreciate that equipment needs to be maintained or fixed but perhaps JD should recruit a firm of contractors who will work when it's convenient for JD clients and not to suit themselves. Failing that at least put barriers around the equipment so that you can avoid using machines next to the ones requiring attention. Barriers should also be used for safety reasons. Comments from JD on this matter would be appreciated.

Don't bother trying to freeze your…
Don't bother trying to freeze your membership. I tried to freeze mine as I was going away for a month, so filled out the online form a couple of days before I went away as I was still using thd gym up until then. Received an email from them 2 days later saying they had frozen it from my next payment date which was in a month's time, by which time I would be home and wanting to use the gym again!! They can only freeze it from payment date to payment date and my payment date happened to be the day they emailed me back so they froze the following month instead which is of no use to me whatsoever!! I still have to pay for the month that I will be away which is a real pain when your a student with very little income! A total waste of time! There's got to be a better system!

Our ‘Freeze Policy’ is to allow 14 days’ notice for our team to apply a freeze for an upcoming payment . This is to ensure that the members payment for the upcoming month is not already in clearing with the bank.
With the timeline you have described the two days notice would have meant the payment would have already been in clearing and unable for our team to stop the payment request.

First time at the gym was ok
First time at the gym was ok. The ladies changing rooms are nice and the staff are friendly. I told the staff there that it was my first time and he didn't proactively offer to show me around, I had to ask. Thats not bad but would be better if he did. Theres loads of machines and in the ladies area there's a good variety but I will say the cardio machines are really old. Overall not bad, I like that its spacious and has a variety of machines. It would be better if there was newer machines and the app could let you see how busy it gets, track your workouts or any sort of workout support.

Disabled parking restricted
The gym is great and has lots of useful equipment. The ladies only section could be bigger as only has 2 benches and minimal equipment. My only issue is the parking, the gym has a few disabled bays but cars without disabled badges keep parking in these spots when there are many other free spots. Today I saw a car parked over two disabled bays with no badge! The staff don’t seem to be doing anything about it but I understand this may not be their responsibility/ they may not be aware. Just be aware your parking may be restricted if you’re disabled.
