Really enjoying your fantastic facilities. Everything is so easy to use and every time I go you can use all equipment you want-no waiting (as you have so many of each machine).

JD Gym Review - Mark Townsend
I’ve been training at JD for the past 3 years but the past few months have completely transformed my experience having now picked up one of their own PTs who’s hard work has been recognised and paid off with his role at JD Bristol. Mark Townsend has been brilliant for me and others too and has really driven me to see progress in my fitness journey, especially needing that expertise and care and passion following recovery from a recent operation and I’m now lifting heavier than ever before !! While I did enjoy JD before I am now loving and even looking forward to my workouts and more motivated than I’ve been at all through out my journey which I can hands down say is down to Mark.

Great gym nice and clean with smart apparatus. Really good to bump into Mark who works there telling me if needed help with any of the equipment as I was knew to the gym don’t hesitate to let him know. Made me feel really comfortable as I’d only been to gyms a handful of times over the years.

Unprofessional Staff
I had a bad experience on my first day at JD GYM Channons Hill Bristol. One of female staff members was very rude and unprofessional.
My brother and I started our workout after placing our gym bags to the side, as we had personal equipment inside that we use frequently during training.
A female staff member approached us and asked if the bag belonged to us. We said yes. She then told us that we were not allowed to keep our bag there and that it must be placed in a locker. We explained that it was our first day at the gym and that we did not have a locker yet, and that the bag contained equipment we needed for our workout.
She responded aggressively and said, “Either put your bag in the staff room or I will kick you out of the gym.” To avoid any conflict, we agreed and placed our bags in the staff room.
Later, while continuing our workout in other areas of the gym, we noticed that around 25% of other members had their bags beside them while exercising.
After finishing our workout, we went to the staff room to collect our bags, but the room was locked and no staff were present. We waited for more than 20 minutes before a staff member finally arrived and returned our bags.

problems with payment
The Gym is good. But I used to pay Revolut (that it is a UK bank) and JD gyms doen't accept it.
They thake up my money from the bank account for the first month. I would like my money back since it hasn't been 14 days since I cancelled my subscription.

Music way too loud
Music too loud, i come during the later hours with my close friend and we literally cannot communicate normally and have to shout. Please turn the volume down to an acceptable background volume. Even with noise cancelling ear phones i can hear the music. Im coming to a gym not a concert.

Customer service
Been coming on and off over the years, but female staff member tonight lacked professionalism and an ability to navigate anything that didn't involve a QR code (mine wasn't working for reasons unknown). Unprofessional and just seemed to lack competency in customer service. I suppose maybe to be expected in a budget gym. And not exactly rushed off their feet.

The gym looks new and clean
The gym looks new and clean, the only issue is that there is no bands that I feel is essential not just for training but also stretching.
The gym is big and mainly open plan with well thought out compartment of cardio, dumbbells, racks and hugh range of machines.
Overall, I am enjoying this gym.

its okay
Its the most I paid for a gym membership, but its smaller then other gyms I been to, so has less equipment and is packed more often then not. However the location is very good for me. Also it has no sauna but other JD gyms do and their cheaper.

Messed up system
I honestly don’t recommend this gym as their system is so bad that you can’t cancel a membership and they keep on deducting saying it wasn’t cancelled 30 day notice blah blah. I want my money back please coz it’s not my fault your system is terrible. I despise Jd gyms, thought they were decent because of the name but it’s quite the opposite
