Paid $27.99 but subscription never activated – stuck in trial

I was charged $27.99 by iZotope for Neutron 4 and Ozone 11 Advanced, but my account remained in trial mode and I was never able to use the products.

Despite contacting support, the issue was not resolved, and my subscription was terminated without me ever accessing the paid service.

I was later told to purchase a new subscription, even though I had already paid and received no usable access.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend purchasing from iZotope unless this issue is addressed properly.

I am extremely disappointed with iZotope. I’ve spent a significant amount of money on their plugins, yet they crash, throw pointer errors, and fail to work in my DAW. I’ve followed every recommendation, reinstalled, tested Rosetta – nothing helps. The worst part is that their support doesn’t seem to understand the issue. This is not acceptable for products in this price range.

I purchased Ozone 12 and have been unable to use it due to an authorization loop in the Product Portal.
The license shows as active on their end, but the software remains stuck in trial mode despite reinstalls and troubleshooting.
Very disappointing experience for paid software — especially when you’re ready to work and can’t.
Hoping support resolves it, but this has been frustrating. They only answer once a day.

Zero customer support

I've left numerous emails and haven't received any response from customer service. Apparently others are having this issue. I purchased this on a payment plan. I will contact my credit card company and reverse the charge once the final payment goes through...

Truly awful experience, no support

Truly awful customer experience. Not only was the Product Portal always dodgy and caused huge interruptions in my workflow, but after it "merged" my account with the NI account nothing would work at all. Perfectly valid licences, now invalid. Unsubscribed and will never go back.

An era is over

An era is over. Greatest plugin ever for the home studio, until Native Instruments bought it. It's over now. Crashes every time I open Cubase. I've been battling this for a week, trying to delete every instance of iZotope from my music. Native Instruments ruins everything and makes the world a darker place.

Kept charging me after telling me my subscription was cancelled

I wanted to cancel my subscription for their music production suite, but the buttons on the UI did not work, the website gave errors and the help documentation gave directions which did not match the actual UI.

I opened a support ticket, and support replied saying that auto-renewal was turned off and the subscription would expire.

I checked my credit card statement and they have still been charging me (for four months). They moved the subscription to a Native Instruments subscription and have been charging me through Native Instruments.

The lack of customer service since native instruments has taken over is very worrying. RX hasn't been working for many days now. A tool I rely on to get food on the table. Unacceptable. Over the years I've spend thousands on your software. And now there is zero actual responses to my support questions.

I Have Seldom Encountered Such Unprofessional Hubris

In response to a complaint I made about a longstanding issue previously acknowledged by the company's parent (Native Instruments) which has been unresolved for 18 months, this was the latest response I received:

"Hi Stephen,

We're not lecturing you, we're telling you.

It is not your job to fix this, but ours. We understand the frustration. I share your frustration.

However, threatening to bother people on Linked-In is not something we tolerate.

Telling us how to do our jobs is not something we tolerate.

In this support case, I am the captain of this ship, not you. I give the orders on what we do here with your account.

My job is make sure your problem is solved and dealt with properly.

When you go to the Doctor do you tell them how to treat you? Step off of your high horse please.

Do you, or do you not need account log in assistance from me and my team?"

Unfortunately, while this is an astounding choice of language, this type of response is not atypical from NI and its subsidiaries.

I haven't purchased anything from NI (or Izotope) in a long while ... and, on the basis of the hubris contained in that response, to a Support Ticket simply expressing my dissatisfaction with how much time and effort I had squandered on this matter, I won't be.

Disgustingly unprofessional.

Headaches

Every time I try and use there products which I paid over $1000 for - I can't because it won't allow me to login. Just today AGAIN, it says my ilok is not valid and I'm using a ton of UA products as well as XLM, Slate... all with ilok. Then they put you through this ancient process of using serial #'s and passcodes. Now they have Native running their licenses but still said my accounts are not valid and can't load. If you're into headaches, you'll love it.

I cannot login to my Izotope or Native Instruments. I've done everything to fix it, but $1,000 later neither company cares about it's customers. I have deleted all products from both companies and will never ever use again.

They want to cheat you

They want to cheat you! You buy the Neutron 4 plugin three weeks before for 199 euros and then suddenly Neutron 5 appears and you think, just like the other big companies do, okay, you'll get the license for Neutron 5 now, because it's only been 3 weeks since they sold you an old version. But no, they tell you that you now have to buy the upgrade for 100 euros. So you have paid 299 euros, although the original license only costs 249 euros. And it's not the first time. The Internet is full of this company and its unfair practices. So hands off, because quite honestly, the company's plug-ins are only at amateur level and a far cry from Unversial Audio or other TOP companies.

Value 2.000 € and then you will be the fool!

We purchased a Bundle in the NI Shop with the Ozone 11 Standard for over 2.000 Euros and ask to move the license to a friend of mine because I own the bigger advance one from Ozone 11. Also we own all other Products of iZotope. The support said it isn't possible and kidding us as a long time customer.  So we ask for a separate license as a goodie but the support won't understand me and at the end we felt us bad and stopped to work with Ozone products and share this bad experience with our more than 2 million followers in the social media world. We never come back to iZotope because we don't like companies which forget the valor of a loyal client and company in the music industry. It's a shame for iZotope to treat us like fools.
