Benetton - trying to scam customers

I ordered goods from Benetton GB site. There used to be a store in Glasgow but it's closed. I registered a return and found the goods are going back to Italy as opposed to a UK warehouse. If I'd known I was ordering goods from mainland Europe I would not have ordered.
The company provides conflicting return guidance. One form included in my package, advises I make 3 copies of the pro forma - or I'll have to pay if the package is not returned properly. The other form included in my package, advised I simply complete the form once.
The pro forma is confusing. I'm not clear which parts I should complete and which parts should be completed by UPS. It's completely customer unfriendly. Also there's no step by step guidance on their website.
The clothes from Benetton have definitely decreased in quality. That's a shame. I used to think Benetton was a quality retailer.

I feel there's definitely a scam involved with retailers operating from mainland Europe but presenting as if they have a UK base. I'll never order from Benetton again.

Great clothes - but sort out your customer service!

First, the good news - I've recently rediscovered Benetton having visited their large store on Oxford Street in London. it's a great shop and I love the clothes, fantastic clothes at great prices. I excitedly ordered various items when I got home, via their website as I wanted some sized they didn't have in store. I even told various friends about the store and how great the clothes are again, after a long time without seeing or buying Benetton in the UK. Anyway, first of all the clothes too ages to come, I think 8 or 9 days in the end, was emailing customer service to see where they were as in the UK we are used to receiving our clothes quickly (see Next and M&S for major brands doing this well). I kept getting 'your order is delayed' messages from UPS and realised the stock was coming from Italy. Not a problem really but I do wish I'd have been told this when I ordered. I wanted to keep 3 out of 5 items, quality and fit and style is great. Then the returns - OH MY GOD. SO complicated. Unbelievable! I had to input UPS tracking numbers and all sorts. I actually think they make it really hard so you can't return stuff. I happened to google 'Benetton customer service' and found so many complaints, it's such a massive shame because it's really, really put me off ordering. I am just hoping that now I've finally worked out how to return the clothes, that the rest of the process goes smoothly. Having read the reviews on here, it seems unlikely. Such a shame.

Problems with return, customer care doesn’t answer at all

I want to return an item, but it is not practically possible as it was not included in the package and customer care doesn’t answer letters and phone number is not available at all. Taking into account kinda short time within which is possible to do returns (just 14 days) and customer support which doesn’t bother themselves to send a return label, those 14 days expire soon and I still couldn’t do the return! More than one week has passed since I wrote to customer support and requested the label. I like clothes on their website but with such bad returning process I would never buy anything there again.

Benetton Customer Care do not care. Avoid the company.

I am so disappointed in Benetton customer care. I am disabled and ill and was in an emergency stay in hospice when my order arrived. When I finally got home and received the package after I was discharged, I decided to return two of the items - one turned up in a colour so different to the photos on their website, and the other was too big - in fact I immediately reordered that one of in a smaller size, thinking I could return the larger one. I then realised their return window is only 14 days so because of my hospital situation my return was going to be a few days are. I therefore wrote to customer care, thinking they would understand the situation and help. I even attached my discharge letter as evidence of my hospital stay. But no chance. They refused to help, refused to accept my return, and even said that due to customer privacy they wouldn’t open and read my health letter. Smug, unkind reply with no customer care what so ever. Now I’m left with two dresses in two different sizes and another item that I won’t wear. Shame on this unethical company. I feel I now cannot ever shop at or recommend Benetton, and I will continue to pursue my refund under the Equality Act. Most shops understand and help people that live with the challenge of illness or disability, but Benetton just set out to prove themselves right and find every way they can to avoid helping.

Absolutely horrible experience

Absolutely horrible experience. Bought items in a store in sienna Italy and returned to a store in Florence. Almost wouldn’t let me return. Had receipt and never even put items on. Finally returned for euros not a return on my credit card.

Very dodgy customer service

Very dodgy customer service ! They make the return process almost impossible.
Very substandard products !

They give one reason or the other to not accept return, either they don’t give you a return label or just say that it’s not eligible.

Poor Quality clothes - Danger for babies

I have bought a sweatshirt for my baby (size 3-6 months). The sweatshirt had a picture of a dog stamped. This picture had disintegrated, my baby hands were with pieces of it, which she after put in her mouth. I have shared my concerns with the shop where I bought it and with my country customer service and no one cares. As I have cut the huge labels (almost bigger than my baby), company doesn’t even accept my complaint.
Benetton should stop doing baby clothes before they poison or threaten babies’ health.

nightmare to return items. Waiting for refund

I wish I never bothers with these people! Ordered some jumpers online, kept some and had to return a couple. I had no idea while they sell/ship stuff to the UK, all their returns have to be done to the Italian warehouse. Their website does not work properly, their customer service people were very unhelpful. Had to send numerous e-mails and make lots of phone calls. At long last they received my return and e-mailed me that my refund of £91.05 was approved but this was weeks ago. Still have not received my money back. Really disappointed. I am not sure if I will ever buy anything from them or any other Italian company for that matter. Diabolical!

Do not buy from this company

Do not buy from this company! I returned totally unused items complete with full labels attached and they confirmed receipt 3 weeks ago. I am getting no response from chasing emails and the telephone number you have to search high and low for, cuts you off!! I’m now looking into legal advice and STILL waiting for a response plus my refund!!

AVOID BENETTON !

AVOID BENETTON !
Benetton is a company that does not return customers' money within the time promised in their website. It has taken me over 2 months to get over £100 from them and I still haven't got them. I've asked my bank to act on my behalf to get money they owed me from beginning of January. 13 days ago they acknowledged they received the goods but still no refund!!!!! They are a frustrating company to deal with!

Dear Benetton

Dear Benetton, replying to my email with the same question in different ways, is not help. The problem has been since January is not been immediate response has solved the problem yet. So why will I come here and write a comment in the first place, if you had provided me with help? Yes, the return label has been provided after many emails and two months. Your reply disrespects the customer; denying what you have done wrong as a company and trying to appear ready to solve the problem is not good. Still, I can't use the return label because none of the DHL places accept it. You don't offer the customer a way to do things easier. A 10% discount is not present for all the trouble you have caused me.
Yet, still, I am stuck with the return....

Apology to Benetton!

Whist Benetton may be nowhere perfect with its online orders & communication service, I have to apologise to them for criticizing them regarding a refund via PayPal. PayPal had assured me, both on line & in a conversation on the telephone, that Benetton had not credited me. But when I received my Credit card statement, there was the refund & on the date Benetton had assured me.

No refund - Very very bad customer service

Very very bad customer service. I have waited for 2 month to have my money back for return. Benetton has confirmed that they have received my parcel. I have written approximately 20 emails and answered many and stupid questions from Benetton and now they do not answer me any longer. If 0 stars was possible I would have given that. Do not buy anything online from Benetton.

the worst experience with online purchase

I have a very bad experience with this company.
The first day when I got my order Nr. P03787846 (2023.01.20) I decided to return it and informed about it Customer service, because my order was marked as undelivered yet and because of this I could not fill the return form. After a week of waiting (and asking every day) for the Customer center to mark my order as “delivered”, 2023.01.27 finally it became possible to fill the return form on their website.
And I called the Shipping company and they said that I must have Return label. But I didn’t get the return label with my order (I made two orders during last month and there were no any labels inside the package of both of them – only an info sheet).

So from the 2023.01.27 till now (2023.02.06) I am still asking to send me the return label for the "free and easy return". I filled the contact form several times, and I emailed the Customer center directly. Nobody answered me.

I began to think maybe it’s easier to leave the goods than ask this company for anything. So I opened the package and took a one more look at the items. And then I noticed a HOLE on the cardigan.
So 2023.02.02 I wrote to the Customer center one more time (by email, by Contact form, by Facebook) and sent photos. NO ANSWER AT ALL.

I really feel ignored by this company. And I am very disappointed with this experience.
So I continue to ask them – send me the return label, take your items back and refund me. Do you really think, that 2 weeks of trying to get an answer is "free and easy return"?

Of course I will apply to the European Consumer Center and I recommend to do it for all customers with negative experience.

About You.com Excellent Refund Policy Experience in comparison to Benetton

Following my bad experience with Benetton Refund Policy in Zurich. I shopped online with About You.com for Turnen/Gymnastics sneakers for my daughter - I made sure to check their return policy because they had a 70% reduction for a limited amount of hours similar to an online auction online.

AboutYou.com website provide an excellent user experience with a clear return policy . I’m pleased to say on Thursday 2 February 2023 I received a pair of Adidas, size 35.5 instead of size 36 ( A size I bought at Benetton that caused drama) ; I paid CHF 26.00. I was so happy to receive my package with their return policy written in large bold letters , stating, I can return the sneakers , as long as they are in the original packaging , packaged professionally in a box with a return slip , that I just had to paste and take the box to the post office.

I’m so delighted with the experience in comparison to an awful treatment from Benetton. Plus, I decided to spend CHF 200 including the Adidas sneakers. About You. Com, like the store name , understand conversion rate optimization and about potential and current customers.

My experience today made me so happy to come back and share a successful online shopping experience .

PS: this store is not a scam because I was offered different payment including with Klarna in Switzerland , where you can pay via ETF before or the end of 30 days after the purchase.

Be aware

Requested return 01/01/23. Goods received by Benetton 11/01/23. Still no money in the accoutn despite multiple contact attempts. No courtesy to reply.
Decided to call as saw response to other comment to sort this way. Lady on the phone advised she can see return being received by company and not sure why this was not processed yet. Promised to get in touuch with the warehouse and resolve. Also said I will receive email with an update. Of course nothing received. This is the last purchase I did with this Company and please be prepared for what others experienced if you decides to do so. I expect now a comment from the Customer Service apologising for this situation and advising to call customer service again but to be honest I am fed up now. I know you had a cyber attack but keeping the customers money with no reason - I think this is against the law. Regards

Unprofessionals and scams

Order from 16 Jan still in stage of preparation although delivery to Greece is supposed to be in 2 to 5 days. The money transaction has been made. Customer service tells us not to worry but unable to give an update on the status of the order. This is the first and last time I am ordering from this company online.

Dreadful returns process

Dreadful returns process, online form for UPS asks you for info as if from a company, not a consumer, then I email & get one back from customer service saying they would contact me, but nothing after 24hrs, I phone them and they just describe the process as if reading from a script, without even listening to the problem, so then I have to ring UPS . Why can't @Bennetton just use the simple tried, tested and easy returns process as other retailers !? instead of this cost-cutting shambles
