Great company to work with. Ross Freedman ran through everything thoroughly from our first meet on site and checks in regularly to see if we are happy with everything. Communication throughout ISM is faultless.

I requested a site clearance on a Saturday morning as I run a busy pub opposite Turf Moor , Burnley FC. It was a matchday and given it being a weekend I didn’t expect anything to be done until the Monday. To my surprise Kim gave me a call within 10 minutes of reporting it and said they were on there way to collect which they did. Great service and THANKYOU to ALL the staff who helped me out at such short notice. That’s what I call excellent service, Regards Tony at The Park View. Burnley.

ISM took over the waste contract from a national company in October. It was seamless. It's a family business but with all the bells and whistles (and more) that you would expect from a nationwide contractor. Better still, they answer the phone and emails when you need them too!! The price is also VERY competitive!
They have the scope to cover all our needs and give me confidence every time I need help!

We previously used an alternative waste supplier who would charge us excessive amounts and were slow to react. Since moving to ISM 2 years ago, we have made considerable savings, service has improved and they regularly offer cost saving solutions.

A renovation project at our home required a skip. We chose ISM because we wanted to support local business. The process was seamless and professional. Skip was delivered on time by a friendly, excellent driver who spent time positioning it perfectly. When we asked for it to be removed it was collected the very next day. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

After nearly a month of email exchanges, quote requests, contract signing, and even arranging a specific delivery date for a cardboard skip, I was only informed — after calling them myself — that the skip would not be delivered due to “missing references” and a supposedly “incorrectly filled” Direct Debit form.
No one had the courtesy to notify me of any issues earlier. I made time to be available for the signing in person, signed the paperwork, submitted everything as requested — only to later be told the documents were already shredded.
The complete lack of transparency, accountability, and basic communication is deeply unprofessional. I strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with ISM Waste & Recycling.
ISM were outstanding on our latest Building clearance. We have used loads of waste and recycling companies up and down the country for building clearances but we have never come across a company so accomodating and with such a high level of service within this industry until now.
From the start, Ross guided us through the whole process and nothing was too much trouble. We had a tight deadline as the job needed to be complete within 5 days and ISM made sure the skips were swapped over quickly and at the exact time we needed them, The driver was fantastic, making sure the skips were exactly in the right place to make our job as easy as possible.
Hats off to the ISM team and especially Ross who kept me updated and was always at the end of the phone in case i needed to speak change anything.

A great service provider who is able to be reactive to our unpredictable business needs. Nothing too is much trouble, and delivered with excellent professional customer care.

commercial waste disposal
1. Shop around a little: The larger organisations will call this "benchmarking" and there is no reason why you cannot carry out the same basic exercise. If you have used the same waste management company for a number of years, you have probably gone through a number of annual price rises. A simple phone call to other waste management companies in the area will soon give you an idea of whether you are paying far too much. If you have a good relationship with your existing supplier, there is nothing to stop you approaching them with this new information and renegotiate. Sitting back and accepting inflation-busting compounded price increases, however, will only lead to you paying a lot more than your competitors do.
2. What is your waste? If you realise that most of the waste you produce is light-weight, clean materials such as paper and cardboard, then there is no reason why you should be paying as if the waste were something completely different. Such materials should not end up in landfills, as they are easily recyclable, reducing the comparative processing cost for the waste management company. Even if your waste is non-recyclable and does finally end up in landfill, then the light weight means you should not have to pay as much as you perhaps are doing.
3. Where is your waste? If your organisation is spread over more than one site, it is possible that you are paying too much. By having a number of containers over a number of sites, your waste management contractor must empty each container at each site every time. This obviously costs more than having all waste at one site. If you have any movements of vehicles between your sites, then attempt to use those movements of empty space to bulk up all of your waste at that point and have it collected from there.
4. When is your waste collected? If your waste is all much the same, but collected in a number of containers, you may be able to save money by reducing the number of collections. This could be done by obtaining a larger container, or even a compactor, and having much larger amounts of waste collected less frequently. This could also be achieved by having more containers on site, but collected less often.
5. How is your waste collected? The cheapest way to pick up many types of waste is by having the least number of containers permanently sited on an organisation's premises. This way, the contractor visits the container on a fixed schedule, rather than having to collect the container and exchange it for another one. This change can reduce the transport costs involved by half, but is not suitable for all classes of wastes.
6. Who is collecting your waste? You need to make sure that the company collecting your waste is properly registered and licensed to do so. Otherwise, you could be liable to severe penalties if your chosen waste management company fails to carry out their task legally. This could lead to substantial fines, which you would be liable for, not the contractor. Saving money by using unlicensed waste management companies will not save you money in the long term when you are surprised by a hefty fine! You have the right to ask for copies of your contractor's waste management licenses to carry and manage waste.
7. Finally, why do you produce waste? It may seem obvious, but is there anything you could be doing to reduce the amount of waste you generate? An effective waste management company should be able to advise on such initiatives that enable you to minimise the waste your organisation produces, reducing the need for further services and saving you money.
