Just crap, nobody answers phones unless you know the secret prompts, plus going online solves nothing. Wait times are long and when you do wait they pick up and hang up

They lie and put you on hold for exorbitant amounts of time and most of the C.S reps have no knowledge after you tell them what you are calling for or they accidentally on purpose hang up on you but the worst part is they send you in circles from department to department and you still don’t get an accurate answer
I was on the phone from 7 am to 530pm and no one can find my returnI

I filed my taxes back at the beginning of February and owed money. By the end of February I had paid in full the money I owed and then got charged again on April 15th. I spoke to customer service and they told me that it would take 10 days for that 2nd payment to be processed and that I would be refunded the money of the 2nd charge. It has been almost a whole month and the 2nd charge is still pending and I have tried to get in contact with them and I either can't get a hold of person to speak with in the "correct" department or I get put on hold and after waiting 6 to 10 minutes in addition to waiting 30 mins for them to call me back, they drop the call.

If I could leave a negative star review I would. I have been trying to get a hold of the IRS since March. There is no absolute way to talk to a REAL PERSON unless you have your Social Security number, how you filed, and “the amount of your return” and birthdate. Which when you owe federal but are getting a refund from the state, there is no real answer of what amount to put in. I just keep getting a message saying my information does not match.

AND SOMEHOW my birthdate was changed internally and no one can tell me how it happened. I had to go to the nearest Social Security Office to look into my situation. And yes my birthdate had been changed somehow. And because my information does not match, which is out of my control, I have had NO WAY of talking to someone.

This is a really terrible thing. My identity has been illegally changed without my permission and I can’t talk to someone to figure this out. Absolutely ridiculous. What are my tax dollars going to? Obviously not humans working for the government anymore. It’s all with robots that hang up on you. Just a great way to have a 30,000 sq ft building to pay for only 2 employees to work at such a place. And for American citizens to get no where.

The IRS customer service is a shame the agents are trained just like cops with tyrannical tactics and abuse of power,the government agents must hold accountable the IRS is like a nazy torture camp not counting the hours you spend trying to contact them and al the sudden get disconnected Mrs Ramirez in Jacksonville Fl

Greatly appreciated Ms. T. Pandhare at E-Help office in MA. for her profound knowledge about how to apply for EFIN and very patient and kind professional assistance. It was the first time and only time in years that I received answers to my questions via phone calls to IRS. The rest just told me: “Call again in 30 days to check it out.” That is what I received after holding for 30 to 60 minutes. It has been going on and on for almost 3 years since it started, unfortunately, the refund of 2020 is not received yet. Anyone can help?

don’t know if anyone from the IRS reads this but I am going to try anyway. There’s an agent named Mr. Wilson - Badge number (1004609027) who helped me today. He literally spent almost an hour trying to help me. I was so shocked to be honest because I’ve talked to IRS agents before (which most are very helpful) but Mr. Wilson was like 100x helpful and I’ve never had any (much less any support person of any company in the world) ever go above and beyond what Mr. Wilson did today. This guy seriously needs to be promoted to manager status. He makes the IRS look good - and he was very knowledgeable. Please give him a raise!

I am getting sick and tired of waiting on you people to process my returned it's been almost 2 months now since I e filed it it's all accurate and correct so what is the issue everyone else is dealing with delays your staff needs to get fixed and there rudeness with me on the phone deserves to get fired and clock out and go home hateful grouch's. Congress is involved now has been since around about the first of this month too next it's going to be Senate Todd Young's office involved get up and get on the ball. You want my paperwork and rush and run me to death to get it so get off of your lazy Rear end and get it done I am not filing this next year and I don't care you audit me I am not doing it cause of this here and the waiting No.. where is this so called letter about my identity being stolen that was a lie to the liar Mr. Wilson is his name you keep mine uphold much longer I am going to local IRS here in my state and see what they can to push this more quicker I am sick of this. Now they go back on the IRS2GO app and put on there my return is being processed and it will come when it's available on refund date No I am placing a call come Monday to Senator Todd Young's office and someone is not going to have a job at the IRS office.

I sent the documents on Feb, 20, 2023 for 2022 year, on Dec 1, 2023, I received a letter from IRS in order to do an ID verification. I got an appointment on Feb 7, 2024, they said that everything is ok and I am going to receive my refund 9 weeks later, today, April 17, 2024 I have received anything. IRS has to filter who are they relating with, because I am 68 years old and for me one year is a risk, I can die in any moment, what are they waiting for? A young person can wait 1, 2 years but for me it is unacceptable.

can barely keep the roof over my head but sure you can have $700 of taxes off two 1099s that were $1400 each, why not.

Worst website in the history of the internet!! We the people paid for this absolute joke of a website. I've logged in several times, but now none of my email addresses are even recognized! Now I register again.. go through all the steps taking pics of my licesne and uploading.. "We are unable to process your request"!! Please go back to paper, pencil and people! IRS technology is the absolute worst! I can only imagine how unsecure it is as well!

I first want to say that I received a letter for a review and it said if I haven't got it or heard anything from them in 60 days to call. So I call to get an a$$hole on the phone saying its really 120 days I have to wait. I said why does my letter say 60 days in 3 different places. He said it's 120 days so call back then. I asked when did they add 2 more months wait time, that even on IRS.gov it says 60 days. He said that he didn't have to provide me with that information. Why do they have the attitude when we are the ones still waiting on our refunds?

I filed on Jan 29th. Still waiting and I try to use the website to tack my refund. It's been in active for the last month and a half. I so tired of this fake system backed by literally NOTHING and the lack of empathy for fellow humans. The misinformation, the blatent lies and manipulation ... I'm so disgusted with it all. I hate being American just like 80% of my fellow Homosapians. This system will no longer exist in the very near future. I'm excited for that .

The IRS is one of the biggest problems!!!!! First, can only call them, which it's all set up to give you the same ol' "thanks for calling the IRS, GOODBYE". Only 1 option will get you to a rep, that alone can take hours. Once your through that mess, you have to answer a series of questions, and in my case I was told something like "the irs can't find you"....wtfyou mean? Paid my taxes for over 20 years, Born in the USA, was asked why my returns were rejected... I was never informed. Finally I was told I wasn't being truthful about some info I had given her. I reply with, what is it you'd like to know because I don't have any idea what is incorrectand the amount of tax info they have on me....they should already know all those questions. 3 years as of today my taxes have been reject and I am owed money. Last thing I was told to call a # and make an apt. I tried....there is no email correspondence, and I hate calling and or going to the local IRS place. I fear I may become penalized for this in someway and I don't know much about the algorithm of how taxes are defined. No classes in school...irs sets you up for failure and it's down right BS!.

The Internal Revenue Service Employees are the worst. Have been trying to straighten out misapplied payment to the IRS for three years now. initially it was;..oh just wait, COVID set everything back 12-18months. Now its just rude, abrasive people who transfer you back and forth like ping pong saying its the other department .blah blah blah. and here I am still with no resolution. HATE this arm of our government especially since there is not accountability both on performance as well as the resolution side.

The IRS is a joke. They expect us to pay our taxes on time. Tried to call the number to verify my identity and they aren't taking calls at this time!!! What do y'all get paid for. This is a joke y'all should be ashamed of yourself!!! Due to high call volume yeah bc y'all making everyone verify their identity..This rating talks volumes.. how about y'all just not get paid and give the money to all the poor ppl in this country that's waiting and counting on their tax return. Please can I just get my taxes I'm barely making it as it is

E-filed taxes on jan 31st. Was accepted same day by IRS. Here it is 40 days later and still NOTHING! Called and spoke to rep. Who informed me she saw NOTHING wrong with taxes as all income was verified. She also stated there is no evidence a letter is being sent to me.
Called their Tax Advocates ( who are equally nothing more than a waste of taxpayer dollars) and they just switched me over to another rep who told me basically the same thing as the first rep. and that I just have to wait.
False advertising telling ppl 21 days or less for e-file! They did the SAME thing to me last year. Took about 3-4 months after e-filing! If you owe them money tho, they are on your ass!

In 2022 Tax season, one of our investment by crowd pistachio farm gave a huge loss. The farm was not able to sent us the K1 form on losses and we got is only in early July 2023. I did amendment and mailed it with all needed documents and proof of the loss. IRS got it on July 15 (certified mail). Needless to say that nothing happened. After waiting for 3 months, we requested why nothing was done yet and IRS replied it will be done no earlier then in 6 months. After nothing happened after 6 months waiting, we filed complain on them. 6.5 months later nothing was returned ($6,450). Is country so poor or IRS works slower vs a turtle?

I pretty sure they don't have level 4 plates. Just saying.
Also using AI in spying on everyone's bank account is unconstitutional.
