I'm a new IRA Financial client, and needed someone to walk me through an IRA rollover and external transaction. I called and spoke to Macey K. this morning; she was SUPER helpful and just an overall pleasure to deal with!

Macey K was dynamite, a truly patient and caring customer service rep. I built a service company and have been running it for 33 yrs so I would know quality reps when I encounter them. She's the type of person you want on your team.

IRA Financial makes it relatively easy to setup a checkbook IRA. However, afterwards, I was very disappointed about a number of things. First, I have always had to wait at least 30 minutes for phone support. Chat support is generally quicker, but is for more general questions. The big issue you need to be aware of is that if you need to transfer funds quickly from the custodian for an investment or even to the bank account setup for your IRA LLC, it will currently cost at least $225. $25 is the wire fee, which is normal, for same day. But they want $200 to expedite the request within IRA Financial to approve the wire transfer, otherwise you have to wait 3 to 5 days! So, just be aware that this might be an issue especially if you need to send money quickly for your investments. To be fair, once you get your money (usually a transfer from your previous IRA custodian) to the IRA LLC bank, then you are governed by the bank's rules for wires and not IRA Financial, so that should go much smoother.

I contracted with IRA Financial to draft my business 401K retirement plan. They initially did a good job and were available for communication. After that, they charged me a $199 fee/year to oversee the plan, add any new requirements and file the 5500 form. They never filed they 5500 form. Communication was broken, emails I had no longer worked. Then, they abruptly and without notice doubled their fee. They have provided NOTHING in terms of addendum to the plan and never filed a 5500 form. I asked them repeatedly to stop billing me yet they claim that without using them as the administrator , the IRS will consider my plan invalid and that they will not stop billing me. I verified with IRS that this is not true and I can be my own plan administrator (I have been filing the forms all these years). They are now employing aggressive collections agencies to harass me.

The IRA Financial customer service team is very knowledgeable in all areas of the self-directed retirement space. They are always gracious and provide impeccable support with whatever question you may reach out to them with. A pleasure to work with.

IRA Financial has been excellent in helping with our startup funding, the entity formation process was smooth and efficient. If you have retirement savings from traditional custodians, the process would be more straightforward and less challenging than the custodian from newer FinTech companies. I’d still recommend IRA Financial. Thank you, Nelza, for your hard work!!
