Assistance provided was great
Internet was offline for a few minutes, though all lights were on, on the modem unit as well as the router. Called up internode, got a person on the line within a couple of minutes of waiting. I told the person on the line what was happening, and what I had done (switch off / switch on). He said he would investigate whilst I was on hold, and called back to say it ought to be ok, to please check. I did, and found it had come back to life. Here is part of the Synology report (redacted):

So yes, I did have an internet "blackout" for 7 minutes. I am happy that I got someone to talk to, who was genuinely interested in my issues.

As a long-term user of Internode I have always found it technical and other staff to be knowledgeable and helpful. In all cases they speak clearly and have been able to operate at my level of understanding.
A big feature of Internode’s service is its callback arrangement - if they cannot provide someone to help you they will offer to call you back so you don’t have to wait on the telephone.
I cannot speak too highly of Internode and always recommend it to my friends.

Internode tech support is second to none.
Internode tech support is second to none. They have always been prompt, easy to understand and clear in their guidance on how to resolve your issues. Their NBN speeds are also fantastic. Have been with Internode for years (even before the NBN) and have found their speeds to be higher than they promised during connection at different premises. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

I am a recent convert to Internode from a large telco for my internet (NBN) service. They are fantastic. Phone calls are answered quickly and the query is resolved in one call. I had a recent query and it was completely solved within 4 minutes - how good is that?
Called regarding swapping mobile service - again a very friendly conversation without any pressure. Procedure for swapping clearly explained.
After my experience with a large telco to determine intermittent internet service, Internode is such a pleasant experience.

I have been a customer of Internode for more than 10 years and have found their customer service to be excellent. The support and sales staff have always taken the time to explain and resolve any problems that may have occurred during moving home and changing plans.

It has taken over 3 months to resolve…
It has taken over 3 months to resolve this problem that is a 1/4 of the year! Constant dropouts since day one of the connection. We were advised by internode to purchase a new modem which didn't resolve the issue which then resulted in many NBN technicians to the premise. As I understood it is their whole Canberra team that has been to the premises to solve the problem.
Internode was not helpful during the last month of the problem escalation. Internode was constantly avoiding my problem and not escalating the issue or giving me a call back for the next step or an action plan. I got quality lip service from a internode technical support for escalation to a manager which doesn't happen and went into a black hole. I had to call them up multiple times a week to chase it up which still went into a black hole.
It finally took escalation to TIO before anything had moved forward and was assigned an Internode case manager to ensure it gets resolved.
During this terrible ordeal. I was forced into buying an additional 2 new routers. A new one to replace the 3-month-old router advice from NBN technicians - that is a router issue. Finally, it took NBN to decide to change the line from the node to the house which was something I suggested months ago (seemed to fix the problem). We had over 7 or 8 technician's from NBN (their whole Canberra team) over the course of 3 months to try and resolve the issue.
The lack of response from both Internode and NBN prior to the Canberra COVID lockdown has resulted and an additional 5G modem and plan from Telstra due to the instability of the network. Now leaving me with 2 modems and a 5G plan on top of my monthly Internode plan. Paying for full service from internode and not receiving it. The dropouts were ridiculous up 7x-8x a day.
Well done Internode and NBN. I have been a customer with internode for over 10+ years this is the worst experience I have had and just a level of huge disappointment.

I have always had Internode as my internet supplier way back when we first started web surfing on dial-up.
I like that I can speak to someone regarding any trouble I'm having without talking to some automated computer voice that doesn't understand english.
The staff that help are always so friendly and understanding and also patient, I wouldn't go anywhere else!

What good customer service looks like…
Being an older person technology has its challenges! So I rely heavily on good, professional customer service to help me navigate towards an option that suits me & my circumstances.
I do not use jargon or know tech terms so it was with great relief that my recent experience provided me with the most patient and understanding customer service rep I have ever encountered.
I did not have documents or account numbers ready when I asked about a new service & being given the time to search & retrieve was helpful; relieved my frustration & not feel like I was on a meter to have my enquiry attended to. Too many times staff are given time limits to meet their KPIs - & this becomes obvious to the customer.
So thank you so much Ben for being with me every step of the way.
