Bed-bound patient in agony and left in pain

My 84 year old father is a patient of Ilford dental and he has been failed by them again and again. He has been waiting for a year for a dental extraction appointment but they didn’t mark the referral as urgent. He has been prescribed antibiotics 3 times for dental infection in the interim which causes him immense pain and cannot eat so loses weight. He has severe Parkinson’s disease, crippling arthritis and COPD.

He has moved in with me in Hounslow because he is getting a disabled toilet fitted in and cannot live at his home in Manor Park.

This morning, despite the dentist seeing him in October 2023 and knowing his history that he is now essentially house/bed bound, they have refused to prescribe him antibiotics. They asked me to call 111 who were surprised themselves because they said they don’t know my dad’s history like his own dentist.

I’m waiting for a call back from a dentist now but the Ilford dental didn’t care my father was in agony and losing weight. I am an Intensive care unit doctor myself and I would never treat my patients like this. Shame on you Ilford dental. I would give you 0 stars, you are cruel.

My experience with Ilford dental centre , Ley St was excellent. The hygienist Regita G is very knowledgeable, professional and attentive. Cleaned my teeth very well.
Dr. Dr. Wulstan A , is professional . Knowledgeable and did a great consultation. X- ray to filing my teeth which a major concern for me . Friendly team and highly recommended.
