Road Assistance/ Pechhulp
On 10th August, I required road assistance (pechhulp). I called the contact details mentioned in the contract (lease subscription): IKRIJ office was not available due to the weekend, IKRIJ contract representative's mobile phone number was not reachable and the road assistance company refused to help. The reason given by the road assistance company was that the car has not been registered with them contractually. They directed me to another company who repeated the same reason with refusal.
After the hassle of almost one hour, and being stuck with family on the highway, I had to call ANWB and pay for the immediate membership cost and the fixed annual fee (total 250 EURO). ANWB came and helped me to get going.
The same day I notified IKRIJ/ WITTEBURG by email about the incident and that I am going to claim the cost incurred, all due to either mismanagement or contractual issue with the road assistance company mentioned in the contract.
I received an email back (not a call) from IKRIJ/ WITTEBURG representative, Thor, that my claim was rejected. Another department (Maintenance) was quoted to be deciding on this, and I was asked to call them to discuss my concerns further (again not they call me instead). I have not yet received a call from IKRIJ sales/ management or maintenance department, and my claim is still unsettled.
At the time of signing the contract, I received several calls from IKRIJ/ WITTEBURG, Thor and they were quite eager to make me proceed with the financials for the contract.
I am disappointed with the change of attitude, extremely bad service and contractual violation by IKRIJ/ WITTEBURG on the basic safety help provision not honored (pechhulp). I cannot trust this company further and doubt that there might be other hidden contractual issues of which IKRIJ/ WITTEBURG cannot take the responsibility.
The purpose of writing this public feedback is that current customers need to verify/ test basic contractual provisions, such as road assistance, insurance coverage. The potential and future customers better stay away from IKRIJ/ WITTEBURG and go with other reputed service providers. Do not trust all the good reviews you might read on websites; they might have been unreal (almost all of them are 5 rated) and/or all the reviews are from 1-2 years old and now the company/ its management is different/ declined to an extremely bad level.
