Awful

Awful, inaccurate, not keeping their word. No one takes responsibility. Click and collect? Never, ever use this feature. You pay, but the product is NOT there to collect even though they give you an sms saying it's ready to collect. Still unresolved and no one following up after 4 weeks.

What a pity that I didn't read these…

What a pity that I didn't read these reviews before ordering from Ikea.
I ordered a free-standing wardrobe to be collected at the Gold Coast collection point and later received a message to say that my order was ready for pick-up on Saturday (26/2/22) between 3 - 4 pm. Just before departing on the 200 km round trip (we live in northern NSW) I received a text message to say that my delivery was delayed (no identification on text). As I was expecting three deliveries that day I replied, asking who this message was from. No response. So just to be sure we phoned Ikea customer service and after 35 minutes wait got through, to be assured that our delivery was available.
When arriving at the designated collection point we found the building closed. We phoned the after hours number on the front of the building, only to be told: "Nothing to do with us. Ikea has a van that parks outside in the street and flies an Ikea flag to identify itself. We've asked that Ikea desist in using our address, but they still do it."
We looked around but there wasn't any van with an Ikea flag. So half a day wasted and 200 km drive in the rain later...
I tried phoning customer service the following day (27/2/2022) and after waiting 41 minutes the line disconnected. No email contact available, hence this review.
Not good enough Ikea! I should have read the reviews before ordering.

Worst customer Service

1.Last year I waited over 30 minutes to be put through to an operator but the phone went dead after a few minutes when i was speaking to her. She had my number but didn't return the call.
2. Items were missing from my delivery but Customer Service emails are 'unmonitored'
3. Items never arrived by chosen delivery date. Three weeks later I phoned (see above). Two months later items were delivered but missing 2 items.

I will never go to ikea again

Today we went to IKEA store in Richmond, we arrived around lunch time and I had my 2 kids with me so we got a hot dog quickly and then as we were walking to stand of to the side to quickly eat before entering the store we got told we couldn’t eat it inside and was in shock that they are selling food but you can’t sit and eat which last time I checked with the restrictions you can have a certain amount of people sit and eat. Anyway after we had finished there and had been into the shopping centre we used the lifts to go back up and exit near ikea and the min we walked out the lady security goes to us “check in really rude and abruptly”
I understand we are living a hard time with the current outbreak but doesn’t mean the security need to be rude to people. I will never step foot in ikea again. Very disappointed

Horrendous customer support

Horrendous customer support, if there is anything wrong with an online order like they missed multiple items, expect to spend hours on hold and waiting weeks for a refund. Their support pages online either don't work or just lead you in a loop, it's utterly unacceptable for a company the size of Ikea to treat online customers as they do. Saying just 'go to your nearest store' to resolve issues is no good if your nearest store is hours away or you don't have a car.

Absolutely horrid, do not purchase online.

I submitted this order almost 2 months ago and had it delivered so that I would not have to drive to a store location. I can see that the item is in stock at a store near to me yet the order is still listed as "Your order is still being prepared". I have ordered this almost 2 months ago and it is in stock, why should I have paid the delivery charge to have it delivered to me if the order cannot even be sent when the store has stock available? I was already annoyed as I purchased a large amount of smart lightbulbs and nowhere did they list that a gateway would be required to use them through a phone app, not only that, the gateway was not even available in store at the time I purchased, to avoid driving all the way back to the store I made an order for delivery and paid ther extra delivery charge but even now the order has not been sent. Understand that I am not angry at you individually but I'm sure you can understand how this might be annoying

We drove over 500kms to Ikea to purchase a storage unit (Kallax). After getting it home and set to assemble it, to find out that the dowels which were supplied to hold the shelves together were actually too long by 10mm. I had to cut 10mm off 48 dowels so I could assemble the unit. Surely a quality control should be in place before items like this are sent out. Very disappointed !

Do not order online with IKEA

Do not order online with IKEA. I ordered an item over 2 months ago, it was damaged in transit. IKEA claim to know nothing about this even though I have a case reference number from their delivery partner and it has been signed for back at IKEA. Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Takes them over a month to reply to emails etc. Not willing to provide a refund even when I explain multiple times what has happened. In this day and age and from an organisation the size of IKEA I would expect a far higher level of service.

Note I only have positive experiences in store. They clearly have some work to do on their online sales customer service.

Bought a chaise lounge chair thinking…

Bought a chaise lounge chair thinking it will be easy it’s IKEA after all, had to go to the ikea warehouse only 3 minutes from Richmond store, ridiculous waited 2 hours with young kids in the car. At the end they didn’t have the right colour cover, and I had to pay more to get another colour so I could get out of there.
When did IKEA became so difficult and complicated and delivering such a bad service!!! Totally defeats the purpose of buying there. Very frustrated . Doesn’t deserve even a star.

How are there so many bad reviews?

Was on hold with Ikea Customer Service about changing some details about my delivery. I would have been waiting about 30 minutes, which is expected with large businesses and their Customer Service lines. The man I spoke to was extremely polite and helpful and was able to change my number on my account to the one that needed to be notified about said delivery and just reminded me to change it back after the delivery was done. It seems all these negative reviews are from people who aren't used to online shopping, dealing with customer service or used to the latest realities of Covid-19. It seems only a few of these reviews actually have merit.

It took forever to get the couch delivered despite was suppose to be "in stock" on the nearest store (only 4 km away from my place).
Once it got here we have realised there is an armrest missing but there are no way to get in touch with the customer service.
I would not recommend to use ikea for forniture delivery despite the "low prices" the service is not worthy

Impossible to contact

Ordered a rug. Got one email saying it would be delivered and another email saying I needed to go and collect it an hour away. Tried too cancel my order but can’t get through on the phone. Searched their site to find out how to cancel an order - impossible to find. Sent an email and was advised that customer service would get back to me in one week!

Terrible

Non existent customer service. Ordered something from an IKEA 20 mins away from my house and it takes a whole month and a half to be delivered. Customer service does not reply to any inquiries, but are suddenly able to respond to PayPal disputes within 24 hours of opening.

Non existent service & poor communication and delays

Ordered a few small items and advised a 4 week delay. No problem. Then advised a delivery day of 2/9/21 via text and took day off as delivery window 8am-6pm. Nothing turned up and no notice to advise of delay. You cant reach Ikea to ask. Now 4/9 and no idea when these items - all of which were paid for 4 weeks ago is being delivered. I understand Covid delays but other Companies have same issues and they show their customers the courtesy of updating dates and times of deliveries. Never again will I order from Ikea. This is not good service and inexcusable. Ikea if you can send out a message saying it will be delivered, then send another message correcting delivery date and keep your customers updated - you then wouldnt have consistently bad reviews. You get what you deserve!

Parcel Delivery is a Joke!

Two months is the delivery time for the Trevi side table, flisat wall storage, a nightlight and a stuffed animal. Absolutely ridiculous! These are small items that are always in stock and could be sent by any courier. Disgraceful!
Delays are reported as 5-10 working days, not 60!

Ikea delivery and logistics is a joke

The only reason this isn't a 1 star is because of the very helpful customer service rep I was able to speak to.

I ordered a standing desk to be delivered on a Saturday (about three weeks in advance). I was given a massive delivery window (7am to 7pm) in which it might arrive, and so sat at home all day to make sure I wouldn't miss it. Get a call at 2pm that the order won't be happening, and rescheduled for the following Monday.

Monday, the delivery arrives with only the table top. Ask the driver if there are anymore boxes but he confirms its the only one. Had to wait a full 45min on the phone to customer service before I could speak with anyone.

Customer service rep is in full support with me, saying that Ikea had KNOWINGLY sent me this table top even though the other parts were no longer in stock!!! Absolutely ridiculous. In the process of getting a full refund but what an absolute waste of time. Never ordering Ikea again.

I have been living without a kitchen…

I have been living without a kitchen for over a month, due to not having the right colour bench tops. Two different colour bench tops were delivered, and I had to wait over a month for delivery. The bench tops were supposed to be delivered on 7 July 2021, but I did not hear from IKEA. When I spoke to IKEA on 11 July 2021 they said that they will deliver the bench tops on 12 July 2021, but they did not arrive. I have called IKEA on 13 July 2021 and they are checking to see if the bench tops are in stock. Really disappointed in the whole IKEA experience. This is not the only problem.

Poor customer service, late and frustrating deliveries

I have placed an online order with IKEA. In general, I am happy with the IKEA products, their prices and the online order process. However, it is very unfortunate that IKEA chooses to deliver via Toll. Parcels get stuck forever at the depot close to our home, delivery dates aren’t kept, and orders are only delivered in parts (which makes things even more complicated). There are definitely better carriers out there. Also, the IKEA customer service is non-existent. Very long waiting times on the phone and service agents who simply don’t want to help. I will definitely not order from IKEA again.

I only wanted two plastic kid's chairs!

Went to Ikea Richmond to buy two plastic children's chairs, expecting to throw them in the back of the car and be off. Nope!
Computer terminal indicated that item had to be ordered. Joined LINE to order. "Did I know Ikea had a warehouse?" No I didn't, but it is just a short drive, so ordered item. Had to join very long LINE to pay for chairs at checkout.
Yes, it is a short drive along Victoria Street to warehouse. Luckily there wasn't a line. Young man said it would only be 10 minute wait. Thank goodness I took my book.

Shocking customer service

Firstly, I take exception to the ridiculously long phone queues, seems thirty minutes or more is par for the course. Secondly, that earsplitting din on hold would annoy even the most placid person. A number of other retailers do this, notably JB HiFi and a couple of sporting footwear companies. It most definitely does not appeal to me, in fact I have a habit of informing staff I will not tolerate disco music at dangerous volume, and promptly leave the store. Thirdly, when I placed a click and collect order, I had no way of knowing that a personal emergency would make it impossible for me to collect the items on the allocated day. When I requested a different day I was told that cannot be done, I'd need to cancel the order and create a new one. The staffer to whome I spoke was totally inflexible, his attitude was that customers must follow all Ikea rules. Needless to say, no other retailer would dare treat a long term customer with such disrespect. I see this is the epitome of ignorance and arrogance, and I certainly won't be recommending Ikea to anyone in the future. In times past I had been a regular customer and had recommended Ikea to many associates, and my immediate thought was that the staffer in question was having a bad day. On checking a number of review websites both in Australia and internationally however, I discovered that the name of Ikea is universally mud. Presumably the recent change of management has brought with it a desire to completely destroy everything that was once commendable about Ikea.
