I have not concluded my training. So far the explanations are pretty clear and makes lots of sense.

If you're looking for a home inspection class that's both engaging and insightful, I highly recommend ICA Home Inspectors. Floyd Gibbs and other instructors were knowledgeable and passionate about the field, and they did a great job of making the material interesting and easy to understand. I found the hands-on portion of the class to be particularly valuable, as it gave me a chance to apply what I had learned in the classroom to a real-world setting. Overall, I would definitely recommend this class to anyone who is interested in pursuing a career in home inspection.

The teacher's experiences that tied into the modules were very helpful in learning and great classmates, helpful, and there to learn.

Awesome people that don't care how many times you call and ask a question, they are happy to help you!

I want more instruction- I would pay more if the company could connect students who pass the National exam with Inspectors who will act as Mentors and allow for ride-along inspections.

I finished my in field training as well as my class training. The videos got a little mundane from the pace, but so informative. I feel like, ICA has set me up to be as succesful as possible as a home inspector. The field training taught me good standards and reinforced the most important functions of the job with in my state. Having a tenured inspector leading the field training, gave me an opportunity to discuss state specefic practices compared to a general overlook of them.

Jeff and charlie are two very knowledgeable inspectors and very great teachers. I appreciate everything I have learned from these two individuals

What made my experience great was the in depth information I received from the professor. His circumference of knowledge on home inspection his reasoning on real life situations and his ability to share computer skills were phenomenal for us. I mean to be in Patrick's presence was an honor in itself. The students whom I conversed with about the class agreed the money spent was well worth the experience. To sum my thoughts in a nut shell, Patrick is approachable down to earth and a modest guy. His expertise on home inspections, computer science, and business are cutting edge. The information discussed was to the point allowing us to ask questions and get the concept of matters. We only ask that you allow Patrick to conduct home inspection training on site. I learned so much from this training. First day I was a little confused but by day5 I was very confident in my ability to do a home inspection.

When I signed up for this class I was dreading the 4 day 10 hour live classes. Thinking they were going to be long days. Couldn't have been more wrong. Our instructor Steve Sheldon was very informative and taught in a way that kept you enegaged. Very happy with this course. Well worth the investment.

Rob Ruggiero was very knowledgeable. Our class had 19 students and he made sure we were all a part of every inspection. He was very easy to understand and made sure we comprehended the information he was giving to us. I took the final exam in 1 hour and 45 minutes and passed the first time!

First of all, I think this is a great training program. The online videos are excellent and I almost feel like I could go right out in the field to begin working. My state requires in-person classes and ride alongs, however. I totally understand this requirement and I agree with it, to be honest. But, as much as I liked my classroom instructor, the in-person classes were very repetitive if you've been through the online modules. I appreciated the stories/scenarios the instructor shared about his own experiences more than anything. Give me more of that! Also, I understand cost and logistics would be very different, but having more sample items to handle would be great. Instead of a house of horrors like other training courses use, having a "lab" like setup with electrical boxes, water heaters, furnaces, ac units, etc., would be extremely helpful. Pictures are the logical substitute but they can't compare to getting your hands on things. All in all, I am very satisfied with the program.

As someone with just a cursory level of experience in the trades, I felt like the decision to take this course helped me develop a good foundation of both what I needed to know as a home inspector, and as someone who wants to build a business dedicated to assisting home buyers and owners. Jeff was phenomenal, and an inspiration.

The instructor was excellent, I had great experience, His explanation was very clear and to the point.

The online course is very well made and easy to understand! Field training, for me, needed to be more in depth.

For the in field training we actually went out and did real home inspections. In my opinion it was not as informative as I personally needed and I feel should have been much longer than 2.5 days as well.

Some of the information from the course was contradictory to the in field training and maybe should be reviewed and corrected.

For example, we are told to refer clients to "structural engineers" but the in field trainer said they are too expensive and should refer to get "structural inspection" first. Great information on the part of the in field trainer. Maybe just consider adding that info as well for options. The clients will be much happier too I imagine.

As a female with limited knowledge I believe doing the classes online and going to the InterNachi House of Horrors may have been better for me to learn all the different defects of a house in person to solidify the information from the course. Then do the in field training.

Though the trainer put together the in field training very very well, gave great detail for what he could in the time frame he had, and am grateful for the experience none the less!!

It was still all worth the time and money in the end overall!

This is only my personal experience and others who are contractors or have more construction background may do very well without going to House of Horrors.

I really wasn't looking forward to four days of ten hour classes especially after having completed the online courses. However, I must say those were four well spent days thanks to an instructor who was not only experienced in the field but also very engaging in the classroom. Steve knew how to make the most of the time and made sure all students were involved. Steve knew exactly when to correct a wrong assessment versus proving the class to come up with the right answer. With his experience, Steve could approach any of the inspection cases by a multitude of angles to ensure our view and assessment of the problem was the right one. Even if our assessment was right he would throw a curve ball just to make sure. Four days well spent
