Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 191 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. People frequently complained that the smart scale and companion app provide wildly inaccurate body measurements, inconsistent weight readings, and struggle constantly with Bluetooth connectivity issues. Consumers also faced frustrating hurdles when attempting to communicate with customer service or secure promised refunds after returning faulty units. The minority of people were satisfied with the device, noting that it effectively helped track fitness trends and provided detailed body composition metrics. Some reviewers also mentioned that the initial setup process was smooth and straightforward, while others found the recorded metrics aligned well with their gym data.

Trust the bad reviews for this company, it is a scam

Trust the bad reviews for this company, it is a scam
I have ordered my Hume scale 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived. The customer service is not existent. I keep chasing them and all I receive is a new tracking link which doesn't give me any indication of the day it will be delivered or that it is even in transit. Their website doesn't let me cancel the order for refund because it indicates that the order is "fulfilled" which is clearly not the case. Such a waste of time and I will need to keep fighting just to get my money back. Don't waste your time or money with Hume.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE

If I could give this no stars I would. Wish I’d read these before buying.
They send products that clearly don’t work and take days to reply to emails. When they do it’s to fob you off.
They offered a refund but I know they aren’t going to give one so I’m going to issue a chargeback and failing that the small claims court. They shouldn’t get away with this 😡

Good for a whole body fat/muscle split.

The scale is, I believe, overmarketed for its abilities. It is prone to most of the same issues as other composition scales.

CONS
* Fluctuations mean you can’t take it seriously day to day/week to week (I didn’t gain 2lbs of muscle in one day). It’s only useful over longer term.
* Wild variations on linoleum floor, you’ll need to experiment to find a stable area of floor and stick to it.
* Hydration levels throw out your fat/muscle readings- only good first thing in the morning.
* Problems with Bluetooth and the app mean you’ll be reinstalling/reconnecting regularly. If you’re a technophobe, don’t buy it. You’ll just get frustrated with it.

PROS
* For the extra money you’ve spent, if you’re patient, it will give you much more accurate muscle/fat readings over time. It does relatively accurately measure trunk, legs and arms separately - you must hold your arms away from your body and have your legs apart, with feet in the correct squares on the device.

This is what I wanted it for. Because I’m pear shaped, my old scale (which only went off my lower body) told me I was not gaining muscle. After 9 months in the gym I was getting disheartened by minor movements, even though I could see and feel my body improving.

With this full body impedance, I can see I’ve gained 2.5lb of muscle in the last two months.

Final Tip
Day to day you should weigh yourself first thing in the morning and only use the total weight as your guide. Check in every fortnight on the app and look at the week/month charts to see whether you’re progressing or not from your baseline.

An additional app such as Apple Health or W Health will make better sense of your data.

To Hume: if you added a line of best fit to the chart it would be infinitely more helpful to those who don’t read graphs often. Those people see the seesawing data and think it’s not working, because you oversold your accuracy.

DO NOT PURCHASE COMPLETE SCAM COMPANY

After purchasing 2 scales and many attempts to make them both work they refused to refund my money and sent me ANOTHER OUT OF BOX FAILURE SCALE. This is a complete SCAM COMPANY AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL THE PRODUCTS THAT THEY ARE VERY, VERY AWARE THAT DO NOT WORK. SICKENING.

Buyers Beware!

I have used the band and the scale consistently since early November with mixed to poor results. The scale weight accuracy is close to acceptable but it frequently has connectivity issues. The band does not record accurately on most metrics. It is 25-40% low on step counts compared to an Apple product. It has been wildly inaccurate on heart rate counts. It recorded a 200+ BPM when the band was on the night stand and I was in the shower. It frequently drops sleep data showing no data or worse - no sleep! The website is a sales platform only. Instead of providing educational insight to its paying members with additional information to make up for the cryptic app descriptions, it incessantly attempts to sell more of the product you already have that doesn't work as advertised. Maybe with some firm ware updates and improved algorithms it will be useful at some point. Buyers beware!

Worst company I have ever worked with 0 stars

Worst company I have ever worked with. We ordered this scale on 12/29/25. On their site when we placed the order we did not get a confirmation it took us back to the order page. My husband hit order again and it showed we had 2 on order. The website does not give a customer service phone number just and email. I emailed immediately to cancel the 2nd scale. I then received both scales and let them know I need to return one. I plugged one in for 24 hours. Unplugged it in the morning and could not get my phone to sync so I figured I would try after work. When I got home it was dead. I emailed again on 1/2/26 to return both since it doesn't even hold a charge for 7 hours. It is now 12/28/26 and customer service is arguing and taking over a week to reply. I received a label to return 1 not 2 scales and cannot seem to get any answer on returning the 2nd scale. They are clearly trying to wait past the 45 day return policy. These arrived in the same box, I just want to send them both back the way they arrived.

*****Finally customer service has acknowledged the issue and let me return the scales. They arrived to them on 2nd, I was told I would have a refund with in 7 to 10 days. We will see.****

I gave the scale a year

I gave the scale a year. Thinking the updates would fix the issues. Nope just gets worse. It is wildly inaccurate and the AI data makes no sense. I even bought the band thinking, maybe different data would help. Nope. They are both horrible. The scale is way off. It counts a woman's breasts as either abdominal fat or arm fat depending on how close your arms are to your body (confirmed with CS). If you have breasts it skews your entire metric and it basically tells you you are a potato. The scale tells me my biological age is 10 years older than I am, and the band tells me my age is nearly 20 years YOUNGER than I am. I wish I had trusted my gut and just returned it within the window. Now I am stuck with an expensive piece of junk. FYI you can get the same scale on alibaba express for about 50 bucks. Just don't do it. Spare yourself the frustration.

To me . . . HORRIBLE!

With me, it's the unreliable and sporadic Bluetooth connection between their app and the device. I have owned mine since about January 2, over three weeks, and have only had success with it a half dozen times. This is even though I've been trying EVERY morning, sometimes over 15 minutes to get the app to connect.
Secondly, there's no support. Their chat is turned OFF. No one answers my please for support from the website. To return the product requires them to authorize. They don't reply to that, either.

DESPICABLE... TERRIBLE... IRRESPONSIBLE

Ordered one Hume Pod as a Christmas gift for daughter.... Philippines CS so order was on audio or transcript....he sent units to 3 addresses after I went over because first order was screwed up and cancelled.
Hume Health IS THE WORST of the WORST...would not review transcript or audio and simply admit their error....NOTE THEIR WEBSITE DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO REVIEW SO ALL REVIEWS APPEAR FAKE!

Rubbish product

I so wish I had read these reviews before purchasing. Received today and spent an hour trying to get a reading, all I got was a weight (which is not only about 2kg out from my Garmin scale but also fluctuates +/- 1.4kg every time I step on it minutes or even seconds apart). No other data available and no record on the ap of even the weight. Followed all the tips and suggestions available online, to no avail. I will consider this a $200 lesson in not buying appliances online.

I Do Not recommend

I Do Not recommend, it is not accurate!
The scale has trouble connecting to the app everytime. Customer service is a joke. You can only contact them through email. They do not respond, I have returned my pod through UPS send a email with return label as they told me to and I still have not heard from them nor have I gotten a refund yet.

Great customer service!

I am impressed with Hume Health's customer service. Wanted to follow up with a review after we received the product: to summarize, I ordered the Pod as a gift. Received it but was not able to get it to work. I reached out to the company who after reading my email, promptly emailed me back, apologized, and said they would send a replacement immediately. I did not have to plead my case or incur any additional expense. We received the new Pod which appears to work well. A big thumbs up to Customer Service Dept.

Garbage product

I bought 3 pods and all 3 are garbage. They all glitch - I’ve reset all of them but it doesn’t solve issues. Bluetooth doesn’t connect on one of the pods and on the other two the Bluetooth connects but halfway through the scanning it fails. I spent over $700 - there is zero quality control on these scales. They get them made in China without any oversight. Not sure what to do next - can’t get in touch with a human.

Avoid at all costs

I bought one of these very expensive scales. It didn’t work so they sent me another. Guess what, that doesn’t work either. Iv done everything it says to do, it says it’s connected, it looks on my phone that it’s doing what it should, then I get a huge Red Cross and nothing else. What a piece of junk. I’m really angry about this and am going to see what I can legally do about it. Please do not buy this, it is not what it says it is.

Doesn't work and no customer support

I bought these scales for a Christmas present.

I have managed 1 recording after over 50 attempts trying different phone (apple, android) and different WiFi networks.

I messaged them on Christmas day so I wasnt expecting a response straight away. I emailed again on 7th January but still no reply. I have given them 7 days to reply or I will be requesting a refund. By the sounds of it this will need to come from my credit card issuer. If that happens I will be looking into what can be done to make this company respect it's customers more via legal channels. This seems to not be an isolated incidence!

Stay Away - Unethical Tactics and Poor Product

1) Doesn’t work. Research connectivity or weigh-in issues and you will see. The connection between the app and the scale is extremely buggy. I’ve got it to record results in the app 2 times out of about 15 weigh ins. Waste of my time and money.

2) Deceptive. When I tried to purchase one it asked me if I wanted to add another one. I said no. It added it to my order anyway. Second, they have this Hume Plus subscription, 30 day free trial. I figured why not, I can always cancel the trial. However, Hume Health is unethical, so there actually is no free trial. They billed my day 1. I cancelled of course, 2 days after I started the free trial. However when cancelling, it’s already billed for a year so I can’t recover any money.

The company is an unethical scam with a trash product. Like I said, stay away. You will see some reviews from people saying they love it. Go ahead with a purchase if you want, but treat it like gambling and know that you’re just going to be out money if it doesn’t work.
