Henry made me a custom made bag for me as a teacher school bag. I received the beautifully made bag exactly as I wanted in January 2022. I recently ordered a hunting bag from Henry for my wife. The trouble he took to make sure we had the best leather and colour for the bag was outstanding. The quality of workmanship is fantastic and she is delighted with it and I’m sure it will serve her well for years.

I'm so glad I did my homework before making an investment in a special new bag. There seem to be many "bait and switch" type leather companies online, but Henry Tomkins is exactly what I was looking for. He is a 1-man shop and handmakes all the bags himself. He was trustworthy, communicative and even willing to customize straps for my petite frame. I absolutely love this bag and can't recommend Henry Tomkins enough.

I have just received my Reporter bag from Henry and it is the most well made bag that I have seen. As I wanted a personalised bag, from start to finish Henry has provided tips and guidance on what could be achieved. The leather is of the best quality and the stitching excellent. A master craftsman!! I will certainly be back to buy another bag.

I purchased a bag from Henry at least 20 years ago in Camden. The wear and tear of 20 years on aircraft, boats and cars, as I've travelled globally, had taken its toll. But my bag is a much loved bag and was in need of a trip home.

Henry sold me the bag with a lifetime guarantee. Whilst he is no longer in Camden I was passing through London and I sent the bag to his workshop. The repairs were magnificently carried out. It's repaired, oiled and good for another 20 years.

Let's hope I'm good for the same.

I have looked at Henry’s bags for over a year. Finally decided to get the large book bag for my 50th. It arrived today.
I’m beyond delighted with it.

What a fabulous tote bag. It was a Christmas gift from my husband although personalised in advance. Perfect size for ipad or laptop, notebook and personal bits. Easy to carry. Beautiful handcrafted leather even personalised with my initials. I just love it!

I commissioned a large satchel from Henry as a joint Birthday/Christmas gift. The product turned out beautiful. Incredible craftsmanship with pieces of gorgeous leather. Additionally, Henry went above and beyond with customer service. He was very prompt with responses and even provided suggestions for the product design. Additionally when the Royal Mail ran into a bit of a snafu with the package he was extremely attentive to ensure its safe delivery. I will order again and highly recommend working with him!

I don’t normally give reviews but I am so pleased with my book bag I thought I should.
I chose the large book bag in Italiano Latino leather with add on’s;
double front buckle,
satchel style shoulder strap and grab handle,
front pocket including pen slots, phone pouch and zip pocket.
I had several emails back and forth even down to the measurement of the phone pouch and I always found Henry attentive and helpful. Henry was as good as his word with the timescale and I received aftercare instructions with the email informing me of dispatch.
The book bag is GORGEOUS and I am so happy I can’t rate the book bag or Henry highly enough!!!

I have had the "book bag" (Small Book Bag with the Single Front Buckle and Rucksack Straps).
My dad has had 3 items previously from Henry.
The process is, you can request swatches and then you choose and from there, it's 6-12 weeks or so and your bag arrives.
The products are true quality and super value. Not like the rubbish from branded names or luxury names which are made in factories by god knows who in a production line. Poor quality items which don't last long, yet people pay over the top for this rubbish.

If you are looking for true quality, Henry is the person!

I was recommended Henry by a friend and I am really pleased with my new leather briefcase. Henry talked me through the design process and helped me work out a bag that would be the most practical and useful for my job. Once we had decided on the final design the bag arrived in a prompt fashion and it is even better than I hoped it would be! The Full Monty has landed, wow, it is gorgeous. Such excellent workmanship, I shall take care of it and use it for work and put my personal bits in it as well. Luckily, since covid and work adopting a hybrid model for working, I only have to go into the office once a week. So I can easily repack it on that day and use it for my paperwork, keeping my diary safe and other personal items in one place on the other days.

I wanted to get my son something special, useful and long lasting for his 21st Birthday. Henry was really helpful with advice in choosing and designing the right thing for him. He is thrilled with a large satchel. It is beautifully made and the leather is much softer than I expected. Really pleased with the present, and so is my son. So much better than something he’d never use and would gather dust.
