Omar explained things that I had questions about for months and months. He helped so much there are no words that describe how appreciative I am for that! Thank you Omar.

Just start working with AM Omar Cardenas. He is very friendly and patient. I received great care at HPP cares for my ADU grant so far.

When I am able to talk to someone, I am able to get satisfactory answers to my questions and resolutions to my problems. HPP Cares as an organization is very good. Their scheduling system for appointments leaves something to be desired, though. When you make an appointment online, there is no confirmation and it is expected that they call you. Often the appointment comes and goes and no one contacts you. Emails are not always responded to either. If you call to talk to someone and they are able to take your call, things get done right away.

Genesis is incredibly professional and efficient. I’ve had over 5 different project managers circulate in and out for my ADU grant process, and Genesis is hands down the best! She was quick to respond, proactive, and helped me find solutions wherever we ran into issues. Wonderful experience with Genesis!

Giving points and credits where they are due. HPP Cares has come a very long way since the ADU grant started. I personally went through 3 HPP Cares managers that didn't know more than a door knob. The latest manager, Nancy is on par. Love her! Called get answer right away instead of a voicemail or a email that doesn't get a response back for days on end. She knows her stuff inside out. Helps with explaining things down to plain English. Thank you for that Nancy.
I appreciate the time and effort into how HPP Cares have made their adjustment into the adu grant and making easier for consumers to understand and navigate through the adu grant process. It wasn't before. But now it is.

Our ADU journey would not look the same without HPP cares. If we were to do this without their grant, support, and guidance there is no telling when we would have started our project. This organization has given us the confidence to move forward and build an ADU and hopefully, that leads to a brighter future for our family. We hope the organization gains the support it needs to help many more families!

HPP Cares has been an amazing partner in helping me fund and build my ADU. The cost of building an ADU is so high that I wouldn't have been able to build one with the grant administered by HPP Cares. Denys and Katherine were SO helpful in answering and troubleshooting all my issues and concerns. I highly recommend HPP Cares and hope the state of CA continues to make funding available to solve our housing shortage.

HPP Cares has been a great experience. Working with the team and specifically Genesis has made the process smooth and easy. Her attention to detail ensure invoices are processed and paid out in a timely manner and contractor continue working.

I met Cecilia M. midway through the process of becoming a potential homebuyer with HPP Cares Affordable Homebuyers Program. I probably was at my most heightened frustration until I met Cecilia. They say “the squeaky wheel gets the oil” and I was making a lot of fuss and squeaks. Cecilia calmed me down, listened to my gripes with genuine concern and reassured me that she would follow-up with me. She is a woman of integrity, she says what she means and does what she said. Cecilia returns calls, keeps her commitment all with such a professional and patient attitude. She provided excellent customer service and restored my faith in this already challenging process. Thank you thank you Ms. Cecilia! I am grateful that you answered my call🙂

Great service and experience since the beginning. Enrique Hernandez helped me with all my questions and was willing to go above and beyond. I felt he was really listening to my concerns and questions. Five stars all the way!

Omar was a great help in answering my questions and providing a list of fees paid under the grant.

My first experience would have been a 1 star, this was a few months ago and the person I spoke with really did not know anything and confused me and disconnected the call as she really was out of their depth. Moving forward Brittney was extremely helpful and took extra time to explain things but I still had some gaps. Omar was 5 star, he explained the last few items. I think there is still work to be done on the whole procedure of the grant, understanding the process, distribution of funds, having to pay tax on the 40K and all the extra fees but this is more of the mechanics and not a reflection of Omar and Brittney.

My experience with Gabby was absolutely wonderful. This woman went above and beyond to help me time after time. Even though I was not her direct client, Gabby stepped in to help me understand the situation and requirements in just one phone call. She also immediately connected with the home builder to get everyone on the same page quickly. She reached out to follow up and made herself available after hours so that we could achieve a deadline. Gabby genuinely cares about the people she is helping and steps in for her team when needed, not just once, but until the job is complete. She is a super valuable asset to the HPP Cares team and I feel lucky to had her help along the way. She really made a difference for me!

This is the first manager that I have actually received help from. He was very informative and was prompt in returning my call.
