Unprofessional Customer Service & Rude.

Very poor customer service with this company it’s horrible. I ordered an item and received the wrong product, which was also of lower value than what I originally purchased.

I contacted them multiple times and provided all the evidence they requested. After an initial reply, they stopped replying for nearly a week despite follow-ups. I only got a response after escalating it. How ironic.

Instead of resolving the problem professionally, their reply was dismissive and implied I was “impatient,” which is unacceptable given the lack of communication on their end. I should have not escalated this just to get a basic resolution.

Overall, very bad customer service and NOT professional whatsoever. Trying to act as if it was my fault for sending the wrong item and that I was inconveniencing them. Horrible.

The abayas I ordered were perfect…

The abayas I ordered were perfect ٱلْحَمْدُ لِله, the only mistake was my own measuring I should have chosen the bigger size but ٱلْحَمْدُ لِله, it is still amazing

Overall really pretty jilbab

Overall really pretty jilbab, I got it delivered to me less than in a weeks time and the material was really nice. I have a few issues with the measurements they gave though because they claimed this jilbab is not for petite girls but will be good for 5’2 girls. I am about 5’2 and I wouldn't say Im petite, I am average and the skirt was INCREDIBLY LONG like no joke I had to bring it up to my chest for it to be at an okay hight. Not to mention the neck part was loose on this jilbab. They say its not good for small headed women but I think my head size is average.Secondly the colour was not as advertised they said it would be a plum colour however it was more burgundy or at least more redish toned instead of purple. However I love the silhouette of the jilbab, very good quality sewing and fabric was very nice, baggy and flowy. I really do love the colour it’s just not the colour I expected but it’s still beautiful and for a £17 jilbab I’m very pleased.

Absolutely terrible service.

Absolutely terrible service.
Stay Away.
It had been over a week and I still haven't recieved my order.
No communication from this seller at all. Except a single email saying order is 'Pending'. Not sure what that's supposed to mean.
No dispatch email, no updates or anything.

And why on earth does it say on the 'No Returns' page:

"House of Jilbab is not to be held responsible for any lost or damaged item during transit. For any lost or damaged item during transit, a claim will be made to the delivery service.
A refund will only be made once the delivery service accepted the claim AND resolved it.
Otherwise, the customer will have to accept and be patient with the decree of Allah."

And then some verses of the Quran justifying their total absence of service.

So, in essence, using religion as a front for poor service.

Scam

So I ordered a khimar and abaya, but only the abaya arrived. I tried to get in contact via whatsapp, email, multiple social media accounts but had no response. The email bounce'd back and the number was unrecognisable. I filled out the contact form, and they then issued a refund for the missing item a couple days later. However, I am still yet to get my money back and that refund was 'issued' on the 17th of June. I am not one to write bad reviews but this company has made me very frustrated and I don't want people to fall into the same trap. You can't build a brand based on Islam and scam people.

A first-time order

A first-time order - Received my order fine, however, I did not get the correct items purchased. I ordered 2 triangular single layer khimars (short), one black and one taupe, but disgracefully received 2 black, two-layered khimars. Not what I purchased and very dissatisfied. Something dodgy about this company now. If you are reading this, HouseOfJilbabUK, kindly refund me and deal with order #4258. Regards.

Quality clothing and customer service

Pleased with the quality of the clothing and customer service. Initially I received the wrong colour item but it was resolved professionally, alhamdulillah. They responded to my email a few days later and politely apologised for any delay and inconvenience, and sent out the correct item with the same fast shipping I had paid for initially (free of charge) and without having to return the original, which I'm happy about. Also the pricing is affordable, it's good value for money, and the option to pay in instalments is very convenient.

Poor quality and poor customer service

Personally wouldn't purchase from here or recommend. Jilbab face opening was way too massive, it won't be suitable unless you have an extremelyy big head! I was expecting the jilbab's to be of better quality, the lable was "made in china" and the stitching was not great. Customer Service was poor, it took days for them to respond to me and that was after I prompted them again.

Very unhappy with my purchase

Very unhappy with my purchase. I bought the triangle khimar short and it looked dark grey, even though I bought the black one, and it was see-through. The description stated that a lightweight material was used, but that has no connotations of being see-through. The material seems cheap and I do not recommend buying this.

I love the site and I’m happy with my order alhamdhulillah.

My mum ordered for me a brown two piece jilbab (french one) from the UK site and it was really lovely alhamdhulillah! Material seems nice and breathable and it is very baggy and covering - just what our sisters need these days.
I am 4”10 and whilst the site seemed very honest, I wasn’t too good at doing my research before choosing - I think it had some important details on not recommending that jilbab if you are short and/or have a small head, but honestly it wasn’t bad in my case and even though I could wear it without the skirt, Allah helped me make both work.
I really like the clothes on here, they don’t belt their abayas and I think even a brother could shop on this site because the model(s) seem to show the clothes accurately, yet in a decent way. Love how the sunnah is being revived here, a lot of abaya shops near me have jewelled and belted abayas that can be see-through but this one gives you a nice chance to avoid all that in sha Allah.
I only took off one star, because the tracking service wasn’t really working, although it may not be in the control of HouseOfJilbab - in that case, I would give 5 stars in sha Allah. The clothes came in around 5 days, and I live in the Surrey area. I was slightly worried because of another review on this site, alhamdhulillah that it didn’t happen for me and I hope they have received what they wanted (in this world and in the hereafter, ameen). Jazak Allah khair…

Alhamdulillaah

This site's owner lives in the Middle East as far as I know but the store has branches in the UK and USA. They stock several brands of Islamic clothing as well as non-branded 'generic' stuff which despite being offered as a value option is of a very high quality in my experience. Their prices are really good, I have seen some of the products, both generic and branded, sold elsewhere for more than twice as much in some cases. They are also reasonably good at providing sizes suitable for taller women, but the taller sizes do seem to be less prioritised for restocks (this is sadly not unique to HoJ amongst Islamic clothing companies). I have ordered from them a few times. My favourite item from there is the kimono abaya which I have in both the taupe and black colourway, it is extremely well made and the microfibre fabric is of a very high quality and comfortable in any weather. Items are sent promptly and by the method the customer paid for (this should be basic customer service but so many companies take their sweet time and profit off the postage by sending by a cheaper method subhanAllaah). I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Edit: with regard to the company with the same name being struck off by Companies House, it is unclear if it is the same company, even if it is, being struck off doesn't necessarily indicate anything untowards it merely means you didn't file accounts on time, or the company is dormant but has not been closed by the person running it. The sister running the company appears to be from the US (I may be wrong on that) and now lives in the UAE. She then passes on the orders to her reps in the UK and US.
