Great service

Great service. They answer tickets quickly and help you with site migration. Also, mega cheap. Haven't had any issues the past half year. The best hosting service I've ever used.

The Best Bang for your Bucks! Love this so much!

There is no way your money isn't worth more than what Hostkoala has to offer. They really give you way more than what you pay for, bigger storage and bandwidth than expected, extremely fast and snappy, helpful and kind customer service that actually listen, never did I regret even once hosting my website with Hostkoala.

I've been with them from Oct 2018, and no downtime I can notice. When the cPanel rip-off chaos thingy appeared, they kindly helped me migrate my cPanel hosting package to DirectPanel that has cheaper cost, very fast when I asked. Then I got trouble with SSL, and after telling them, they asked super politely to please wait in few minutes, and bam, they got it resolved right away.

Just try it, it's pretty cheap and they basically /almost/ giving everything away for free. For few bucks a year for a personal website or experimental website hosting, it's a steal man.

Sorry if everything sounds so exaggerated, it's just they're too good with us, they're god send for poor student that still want to have a nice website like me. We don't deserve Hostkoala.

TLDR: Definitely worth more than you pay for, the best bang for your bucks, no compromises, definitely super duper recommended to everyone.

Super Affordable and Excellent Support!

I've been using HostKoala for a couple of months now and I absolutely love it! Came across them while browsing on Reddit and thought I'd give them a try. I'll admit I was a little skeptical using their service because the price was ridiculously affordable so I thought if it didn't work out, then I wouldn't have lost much. But I'm so glad I gave it a shot because they're great! I'm based in California and using WordPress for my site so their hosting is perfect for my needs. And they also go above and beyond with their support. Def recommend!

Cheap, Free Migration, Working Mails

I will post my review based on my experience with the support and based on their Australia server.

Their support has been helpful, and helped me migrate my Wordpress site smoothly. There was no downtime, so very happy there.

Mailing is good on their servers ( Australia ). The IP I got was not blacklisted, and I was able to send mail newsletters with no bounces.

Very happy, and would recommend to anyone ! Price is also very good

Solid hosting service

I love this hosting service. I found it on Reddit and used it to host a small WordPress website/blog. It was perfect and served the purpose of providing an informational page about my Discord server and a hub for my tournament results. It is cheap and affordable/the only service I used and it worked wonderfully.

Customer service - they strive to please. And pricing I haven't seen the likes of it.

In regards to pricing, I haven't seen anything better, especially with the 60% discount I received. But the customer service is far beyond what I had imagined. It wasn't like "Hey, I am hosting your website for this low price, don't expect anything else from me." Rather it was like "We will do everything in our power to help you".

My website wasn't working and I didn't really know how to create backup and migrate. GoDaddy didn't want to help, they said you need to contact a web developer to do this. HostKoala took the initiative to help, they made migration so easy, providing full restoration of website, even though it wasn't their job to do it. Won my heart, really.

Honest and Extremely Affordable

I needed to find hosting but didn't want to break the bank. I checked on Reddit and saw this deal and decided to just do it. I thought the hosting included a domain purchase and I submitted a ticket with a question. The first thing they did is offer a full refund but also explained what I would need to do. I literally followed their instructions on their resources page and was able to do everything I needed. Their support was awesome, we went back and forth even though I had basic questions. I got everything I needed and honestly I'll be going back for way more.

Hostkoala Reviews Very Bad Support Service / No Answer Tickets

Yesterday I purchased hosting...I am still unable to host sites...
This morning I have submitted support ticket, 3 hours passed and still no answer...
In hosting business 3 hours not receiving answer and support is not ideal...This is indicating quality of hosting...

I will stop with HOSTKOALA because it lost my trust at the beginning...
If a hosting answers your ticket after 2 hours later, do not stay there...My experiences and advices

Edit 1 : This is not my ISP problem and was related ISP or firewall of your hosting. I see now you have also no hosting knowledge! If I can see site online with proxy and not directly from my computer, this means that your hosting ( Firewall or ISP ) blocked my IP / ISP. This is today frequently happening with not very good installed hostings. It is never happen with HOSTGATOR, GODADDY, BLUE HOST and others.

Besides you have answered ( reacted ) 10 hours later submitting ticket. 10 hours is a huge time for hosting business. Can you imagine if server down or something happen, 10 hours websites will be offline. I have lost huge 48 hours because of HOSTKOALA.

Never buy hosting from them. Also their paypal ACCOUNT is associated a simple GMAIL, Not a professional company, just a person! If he is ill or dead, than your web projects will be dead, too.

Conclusion : Never believe this cheap hosting offers, this is my 10.th hosting changing. I faced same problem with all. I will continue to use big pioneers in hosting...Yes they are expensive but you have no such a headache.

HOSTKOALA never answered did not try to solve my problem ticket but today they immediately answer of all posts on TRUSTPILOT. If you spend your time to solve problem of your clients, this can be more fruitfull for you. You active account very fast, you answer on TRUSTPILOT very fast. But no answer on your support system..What a business?

Edit 3 : As you see, HOSTKOALA just answered all my reviews and updatings. But you can not see a word / sentence to solve my problem. If I had faced this problem with professional hosting company, they would just focus them to find source of problem and show how to solve it.

Edit 4 : If someone try to cancel a service from professional hosting companies such as GODADDY, BLUE HOST, HOSTGATOR etc. They immediately ask reason and offer to solve problem immediately. And they solve problem indeed and and customer stay without refunding. 10 hours not answering support tickets is not a hosting business. You need to always observe servers to be sites always online.

A quick note to anyone who reads this, we refunded this client 8 hours into him requesting a refund. He also had his first support ticket responded within 5 minutes.

His problem solely begins on him being unable to access our site via his computer, but can do so with a proxy. We took 10 hours to respond to this ticket. And refunded him immediately ( as he made five replies to this ticket and demanded a refund in one of them )

Clients First Edit :

Former client claims that he cannot visit his website, but he can by using a proxy, he can access his website, and blames our hosting for it and claims there is no way that his ISP ( Internet Service Provider ) could be blocking our IP ( Anyone who used a proxy, knows that using a proxy can bypass your ISP blocks ). After reviewing his ticket, there is a possibility he logged in many times and failed to cPanel, and cPanel's bruteforce protection kicked in.

He conveniently left out that his first ticket was responded within 5 minutes ( We responded to his 2nd ticket after 10 hours, in which he made 5 replies, which pushes his ticket to the back of our ticket list , for every reply ).


He claims that if our server is down, for 10 hours the website is down. This is completely false, as we have seperate staff for managing the servers, and handling support issues like his ( ISP problems ). We have a public uptime page handled by a third party ( By Uptime Robot, accesible on https://www.hostkoala.com/uptime.html ). Our last downtime lasted 5 minutes, and our previous one was 10 minute ( We use Intel Cores in our servers, and we needed to update them against Intel Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities ).

Our paypal account uses GMAIL, as we started off as a small company, and many clients have recurring payments to this paypal account. To change the paypal account itself may cause some older clients who have recurring payments to miss their payments, and result in unwanted downtime due to service suspension due to non payment.

Clients Second Edit :

Client claims that we did not try to resolve his ticket problem, but answers all of his edits in TrustPilot.

It is true we responded to every edit in his TrustPilot review with us.
By the time client made his TrustPilot review ( First review ), he had already requested for a refund, and we provided it.

Client could not wait for us to fix his problem, and demanded a refund ( which we obliged ). How do we solve an issue, after a client demands a refund which we provided, and no longer has a hosting account with us ?

Clients Third Edit :

He also claims we respond very quickly on TrustPilot. This is true for his review, particularly because our General Support working hours are 8 am - 5 pm ( +8 GMT ), and respond to tickets as well as reviews in these hours.

His line "If I had faced this problem with professional hosting company, they would just focus them to find source of problem and show how to solve it", is invalid, as he demanded a refund, and we provided it as soon as we saw it.

Clients Fourth Edit :

Client claims we are not a professional company, as we did not try to reason/solve the problem immediately.
This is because, as you can see in the ticket history, client said this :
"How many hours passed after submitting ticket? Why my problem to be solved ? This can not be a professional hosting...A professional hosting need to be answered within 2 hours after submitting ticket."
( As we mentioned earlier, our General Support Staff works from 8 am - 5pm +8 GMT daily ). As we cannot meet the clients demand, we decided to refund him as soon as a request was made.
We also clearly state on our main page, that we guarantee a support response within 24 hours. As HostKoala grew as a company, we began getting a lot of international clients, with a variety of timezones. We know we cannot support each one of them 24/7, hence we state that very clearly on our website.

Considering the client decided to mention BlueHost, HostGator, and GoDaddy, you can can check their reviews yourselves :)
