Poor Uptime & Bad Support

The service started well, but after March 2026 we started facing lots of downtimes in all of our VPS throughout Netherlands and Germany. Their support is very rude and does not solve the matter. Just yesterday my websites went down for more than 5 hours, and their support did not help in any matter. The 99.9% uptime guarantee that they add on their website is a scam

Lack Professionalism

I have over a decade of experience in the hosting industry and have worked with some of the largest providers. As the former CEO of NaijaWebHost, I can say—without hesitation—that your level of professionalism in handling customers is lacking, and that is a far more serious issue than any technical problem.

I recently purchased a VPS with the intention of installing cPanel to host a single WHMCS website. However, shortly after setting up cPanel, I discovered the server was unstable—it went offline three times within less than two hours. This is on a system provisioned with 8 CPU cores and 16GB RAM, running only cPanel and CloudLinux. Even the initial setup process had noticeably poor performance.

Each time I reached out to support regarding the outages, instead of properly investigating the issue, the responses felt dismissive and unhelpful, as though the situation was being downplayed rather than resolved.

To make matters worse, I later found that the mail service was not functioning. Upon contacting support again, I was informed that several ports were blocked. While I have no issue with submitting a request to have them opened, the lack of transparency and absence of any apology—combined with the overall attitude of the support team—came across as unprofessional and unnecessarily difficult to deal with.

At this point, the technical issues are concerning, but the bigger problem is the customer experience. This kind of approach is not sustainable for long-term business relationships.

I am extremely frustrated with…

I am extremely frustrated with Hostkey's service. I have two VPS servers with them. One (IP 43.245.224.74) works perfectly, while the second one (IP 82.38.71.244) became completely inaccessible via SSH (Connection timed out) immediately after a standard OS reinstallation through their panel.

Despite clear evidence that the problem is on their side (since I can access one server but not the other from the same network), support spent over 40 minutes gaslighting me, claiming the issue is with my "regional provider" or "internet routing." This is a blatant lie and a scripted excuse to avoid fixing their own infrastructure or broken OS templates.

This is not the first time I've faced such "glitches" with Hostkey. Every time I buy a new VPS or reinstall an OS, I have to waste hours of my professional time proving basic technical facts to their support team.

My demands were ignored:

They refused to change the "dirty" or misconfigured IP address.

They refused to recreate the instance on a working node.

They refused an immediate refund for a service that is NOT being provided.

If you value your time and need a reliable "out of the box" solution, stay away from Hostkey. Their support is unprofessional and their automated systems are unstable.

We would like to emphasize that in your region we are indeed seeing situations where certain IP addresses are blacklisted or blocked at the level of internet service providers or even government restrictions. Both IP addresses and specific ports may be affected. This is a dynamic environment and is not always under our direct control.

If such a situation occurs, we can replace the IP address upon request through our support team. We also recommend testing connectivity using different internet providers. In many cases, a connection may not work over mobile internet but works correctly from a home or alternative network.

You also have the option to stop using the server at any time. Since we use hourly billing, any unused funds (if you paid for a full month) remain on your balance and can be used to deploy another server. In most cases, a newly assigned IP address works without issues.

We continuously monitor the situation and remove problematic IPs from circulation in affected regions as quickly as possible. While the situation is constantly changing, we are doing everything we can to minimize such cases.

In any case, we strive to do everything possible to ensure our customers are satisfied.
