I highly recommend Host Asia for shared hosting! They are the oldest hosting company in Sri Lanka, and because they have servers located right here in the country, the hosting is super fast with very low latency. I have experienced zero downtime so far. On top of the great performance, their customer support is superb. The support team is very friendly and always ready to help.
Highly unprofessional and dismissive support. I approached them as a Senior Software Engineer to host a small-scale Donor Management System for a special needs school. Despite asking standard technical questions about cURL and Cron jobs, their support team responded by calling my requirements a "waste of time" and compared a simple PHP/MySQL project to a "cargo container in a wheelbarrow."
They attempted to aggressively upsell a Dedicated Server for LKR 55,000/month—a 10,000% markup over their shared hosting plans. If you are a developer or a small business looking for honest technical advice, look elsewhere. They clearly prefer clients who don't ask questions
