Got scammed?

Did not receive my order but only an email later saying it was returned. Tracking says the order was attempted for delivery on Dec 16, but was returned to sender on Dec 15th making it impossible that the package was even attempted for delivery. Sent 3 emails first checking status, then when saw return email and one more on Jan 5th as I got a bill in the mailbox after the deadline to pay additional fee for the return of the package that I never asked to be returned. No item received which impacts my work and an extra fee that will get additional fee as it was mailed after due date. No customer service and no phone number to reach out to. Ghosted since start of December.
