I’d give a 0 if I could.
Woke up to no heating or hot water, called to arrange a visit that day, to which I was told that the call out fee was £120 plus VAT which I thought was rather a lot but as it was freezing and due to having a chronically ill child in the house it was necessary.
Engineer arrived and proceeded to examine my boiler and investigate the issue when they finished after around 15 minutes they informed me that I may have to replace the gas valve or the whole boiler. As well as that they recommended a full service. To which I was quoted including the call out charger was over £600
I was a little doubtful on this as the boiler is fairly new so I got a second opinion, the second gas engineer spent 5 minutes examining my boiler and informed me that the only issue with my boiler was that the gas valve had been turned off and they turned it to the on position. He then informed me that there was nothing else required to fix my problem.
So I would ask what the engineer provided was doing during that 15 mins and why I needed to be charged £600 for something I didn’t need. I have called and emailed to discuss whether this is the sort of service that they feel acceptable and if they feel a refund is due. To which I have received no response to the email I was asked to send.
ABSOLUTE thieves
ABSOLUTE thieves. Reported a leak coming from under the downstairs toilet sink unit, £144 for the call out and first hour agreed upon. The mark up on the waste I would say was a good 250%- 300% @ £36.00 . Still leaking so called back the day after, was told if it was an unrelated problem I would be charged the £144 again. There was a second leak in the downstairs toilet so not unrelated. It took all of 5 minutes to change a washer on the toilet where the second leak was coming from, the first visit took an hour, being reasonable and DECENT I ran them to say i'd be happy to pay for another half an hour. They have taken an hour, so another £144 to change a washer on a leak which hadn't been identified the day before. The most outrageous part to me is being charged £6.00 for parts on the second call out...£6.00 FOR A WASHER...SIX POUNDS!! They cost about 10p, that's a 5,900% mark up, lol!! I was told someone from the aftercare team would call me back, no call received. Called back the day after to ask to be put through to the aftercare team and was advised they don't take phone calls and they would never call a customer back...says it all really. Now been advised to put it in writing to them. So far I've paid £330.00 to fix a leak which has now been done but now the toilet wont flush!! I'm too worried I will have to take out a second mortgage if I have to call them out again to sort it and I'd rather leave the toilet unusable than give these thieves another penny of my money. Really hope they aren't ripping off OAP's like this as well so I am going to report them to trading standard which I encourage anyone else who has had the same experience to do so as well.
Had our gas cooker installed and it was great
A gentleman called Satinder Poonia came to connect our gas cooker. He was very friendly and very informative. He took time to check everything was working as it should and was very thorough. Would definitely use home solutions again, great service and competitive pricing and next day service. 👍👍
I booked boiler service with this…
I booked boiler service with this company was told it was £99 + vat and could come that day so booked it when the engineer came seemed to take rather a long time I.e nearly a hour when I’ve had boiler serviced before taken no more than 20 minutes engineer just plugged into their laptop check emissions etc clean parts as required
But this engineer kept checking and re-checking then after an hour said he gas pressure at boiler was low but still useable so we asked him what was causing it he said it seems there is a restriction somewhere in pipe work he then said it would cost about £1000 to put right then went and put a red notice on boiler do not use and promptly left so I got in touch with company and told them and asked why he put notice on boiler when he said ok to use and sent me a invoice for £144 saying as he came today it was glassed as a emergency so on that note we decided to get a second opinion on the boiler we got British Gas in to do another service he came today didn’t say anything about previous companyvery efficient duly plugged his laptop in run all checks looked over boiler and said it was fine and issued me with certificate to that effect
Seems homesolutios4u seen couple of pensioners ripe for a rip off wrong we pensioners not that stupid ovoid this company at all cost
The worst service/ company ever
The worst service ever. The worst company and customer service. We called the engineer to come and
to fix the problem, not to perform a routine inspection. They that the engineer called Ben did not find any problems to fix and the system met manufacturer‘s standard. We are not sure how he missed that the main boiler does not control tap water temperature. It is pretty clear, when one presses tap water button on the boiler, the “Non applicable” message appears straight away on the main panel. The suggestion that very hot water is a result of both immersion and main boilers working together and as a result heating the water twice perhaps could have has some credibility. But, say if the main boiler heated the water up to 60 C, and the immersion boiler also heated the water to 60 C, all in temperature would still be 60 C and not 120 C.
To us it is pretty obvious now the issue is with thermostat.
We paid £120 and asked the company to come back to fix the problem. They have refused and said only if we pay again the engineer will come. Its the worst experience I had in my life. Even 1star is TOO much for them. Read the reviews and don’t waste your money.
Saniflo nightmare…
Plumber arrived on 20th October as I had requested a plumber to take my saniflo toilet out of my property. £118.80. He persuaded me to have a new macerator and I was quoted £99 plus VAT to have this work done. He turned off the macerator toilet and not to be used. On Friday 1st November the floor was totally flooded and I have had to put towels down to soak up the water as when I rang this company and explained what was going on they were not at all interested so I had to endure flooding all weekend. The plumber had an appointment for today and arrived at about 3p.m. He knew that I had requested the macerator to be removed AGAIN. Job done. He did not know where the water was coming from. Disconnected and took out all of the saniflo toilet. Just looked at my bank account have been charged £118.80 and another payment of £20.00. Total paid to this company £257.60!! If I had had the saniflo removed when I first requested it would have cost me !118.80.
Leave you to make your own mind up!!
I had a leak in my shower and used this…
I had a leak in my shower and used this company to repair it. I was informed by the plumber that a part was needed and that it would be ordered and I would receive a phone call, which never materialized. I was never told that I would receive an estimate for the work to be carried out. This estimate went to my junk folder so I did not see it until a week or so later. After emailing them I received a phone call from a person named Michelle who should take customer service skills as she had none whatsoever. My advice is to steer very clear of this company.

engaged them to come a service my boiler as they had 12 months previous having replaced pump, 3 port valve and gas valve. (charged £500) old but functional. turned up took photos after plastering do not use stickers everywhere. No comms no feedback no report no service. (i even had the spare parts to hand) charged £118 for less than an hour. they serviced the boiler 12 months previous and certificated it!!! low and behold had gone under so no parts warranty :-(
got local Corgi guy to fix and got working.. half the cost NOT PAYING THE BILL informing barclaycard- crooks
Thank you for your understanding
Plumbing force checked my new boiler installation last year. Although it passed, the engineer identified half a dozen "advisory" issues.
I subsequently emailed and asked for a quote earlier this year. I heard nothing back and chased in September.
Once they finally got back to me, they arranged an appointment for someone to quote for the work.
The engineer (who I believe was the same engineer that identified the advisory issues) was at my house for 20-30 minutes on 6th September. Most of this time was spent on his phone with the office trying to locate his report from last year. He said that he had been sent out in error and that what I actually needed was a quote. Which is of course exactly what I had asked for when I emailed in the first olace. He said that I would automatically be charged £118 for his visit, but that this would be deducted from the quote. He'd have a word with the office to ensure that was done.
Three weeks and 5 telephone calls later, I received a very high quotation (£2400), which I subsequently discovered to be completely uncompetetive. As I was not proceeding with the work, they refused to refund the £118 they had charged for their error. I complained, but received a poor explanation (to which I replied) followed by a second email referring me to the first and announcing that the matter was closed.
"Thank you for your understanding," featured in both emails.
I'm not someone that complains or writes a bad review at the tip of a hat, but this company does not value its customers and seeks only to appropriate money without performing services of any value. I get that some companies charge for quotations when the nature of the work is complex or unknown... But the issues had previously been identified by their own engineer and in any case the quote was just a simgle figure, with no breakdown. No details. Nothing about it suggested that it provided any value for money. £118 for nothing.
I strongly suspect I have been scammed. I do not believe Homesolutions4u genuinely wanted the business. I think this was why the quote was well above market rates. And why they took months to respond and then weeks to provide a quote.
Do yourself a favour: try another company. I really should have read these reviews first...
DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!
DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!
Visited my property as I initially called them out to fix a leak in the boiler that was tripping electric. Apparently needed to supply a new water pressure sensor and integral pump that cost me a total of £732 + another £297 was taken from my card for checking electrics, draining boiler. I then receive another Estimate after this visit for more work to be done and to replace a heat plate at the grand total of £580.80.
3 days later boiler leaking again, called them to come out and fix this but wanted to take more money for a holding fee to book the job that should have been fixed on the first visit. I declined to pay this as the leak should have been fixed at the first visit. Lady on the phone was very dismissive and told me that unfortunately she doesn't make the rules.
I am now in the same situation as I started with a leaking boiler and have paid out over £1,000 for what???
Same crowd as plumbingforce which they…
Same crowd as plumbingforce which they closed down and will not honour the warranties. Avoid at all costs!!!
They take your money without doing anything
I was charged £140 by Home Solutions 4U Ltd for a washing machine installation that never took place. The technician was here for only 15 minutes, and then they postponed the installation. Despite cancelling, they took the money. Very poor service, be careful. I have also reported them to Trading Standards
AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Our boiler wouldn't stay lit meaning no heating or hot water. Called up and booked for between 1400 - 1800. They cancelled @17:50 with excuses.
Attended two days later. Spent 2 1/2 hours "diagnosing" the issue. Stated repeatedly that he had no idea what was wrong with it. And complaining on how the British Gas engineer had fitted the boiler.
He slapped a dangerous "do not use" sticker on it and then said its perfectly safe to use and most people ignore the sticker and carry on trying to use the boiler.
Suggested we rebook for them to come out again to carry on working on the boiler or call the manufacturer and get them to sort it. Charged £308 for nothing!
Called out British Gas, they came out same day, had it diagnosed and new parts ordered in 15 mins. Came back next day and had it up and running so quickly the wife didn't finish making his brew!
Homesolutions4u just want to charge the max amount they can and, if our engineer is anything to go by, are clueless about actually fixing anything!
DO NOT USE!!!!
What a shocker of a service they…
What a shocker of a service they provide. Cancelled attending at my property multiple times. Told I couldn’t speak to a Director - apparently they are too important to speak to unhappy badly served customers. Kept making new appointments but then cancelling saying that an appointment doesn’t mean confirmation they will attend. From experience you should assume they won’t be attending. If you have an emergency you should definitely think twice as highly likely you’ll be let down with same excuse of they had to attend another emergency and then eventually you’ll find out it’s because staff are off sick. Just dreadful, I’ve lost numerous days of annual leave and quite frankly the will to live in expecting they will ever turn up. So to the Directors; John Barnes and Demi Barnes, I suggest you get a grip of your business and give good customer service a chance. Although I suspect you’re in your minds too important to read this.
BOLIER HAD A DIVERTER VALVE ISSUE
BOLIER HAD A DIVERTER VALVE ISSUE. ENGINEER COMES, DOESN'T EVEN CHECK THE BOILER OR GET HIS TOOLS OUT. JUST RINGS A COLLEAGUE TO CONFIRM THE ISSUE, MY SON HEAR'S THE ENGINEER TELL HIS COLLEAGUE"I'M NOT OPENING THIS OLD S*** UP". I KNOW THE BOILER IS PROBABLY 15 YEARS OLD BUT TO CHARGE FOR NO DIAGNOSIS OR EVEN OPENING A TAP, JUST GOING OFF WHAT I TOLD HIM IS RIDICULOUS. JUST SUMS UP THIS OBNOXIOUS LITTLE COMPANY OF THIEVES. THEN I COMPLAIN AND GET THE SO CALLED MANAGER RING ME MICHELLE, TO WHICH DURING OUR CONVERSATION I USED THE TERM"MY DEAR" AS A SIGN OF RESPECT, BUT SHE THEN STARTS TO RANT THAT WE ARE NOT RELATED AND I SHOULD NOT CALL HER THAT. IT'S A NO WIN WITH THIS COMPANY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great service -
Great booking system, great comms leading up to the service. Joe Maynard (engineer) was excellent, a nice guy too. Provided comprehensive testing compared with other people I've used Previously. Will use these guys from now on.
