I found it extremely helpful to have a one-stop shop for the whole process. Once I was 'in' I could let Homehold and then Leasehold Legal Services do their jobs. I'm sure I would have felt considerably more strain had I been obliged to engage a solicitor and a surveyor separately myself. Also, and very importantly for me, I didn't have to undertake the tricky negotiations with the freeholder. Best of all, my solicitor at Leasehold Legal Services used their knowledge to save me a considerable sum on my leasehold extension, while getting me exactly what I needed. I therefore think I 'won back' about half the fee I paid for the whole process. The main reason I chose to use Homehold is that they are specialists and because I just didn't want to deal with my freeholder any more than necessary. Once the initial process of providing documentation was over (which I'd have had to do in any case), I really could almost sit back and let it happen. There were regular updates from my named contacts at Homehold and at Leasehold Legal Services, and they made sure everything went smoothly and far better to my advantage than I could have managed on my own. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who would like to take the stress out of a leasehold extension. Thanks very much!

I left a 5 star review (November 2023) when Homehold / Leasehold Legal Services had completed their part of the process of my Lease Extension - nothing more they could do, just a case of waiting for the Land Registry to complete the registration.
Now it's 14 months later, here's another 5 stars!
The process is finally complete, just as predicted, and Homehold have sent me the new Registration documents as soon as they were issued by Land Registry. Thank you Homehold for "being there", answering questions right to the very end.

The team at Homehold and their lawyers dealt with a fairly challenging lease extension, where the landlord tried to argue that we had added a bedroom to the property, which was untrue. They also initially demanded a fee three times the expected sum. Homehold made sure the negotiations ended with the best possible result for us and they also kept us informed throughout. Highly recommended.

We used Homehold for a recent leasehold renewal (still ongoing—it's a long process!). We first came across them on the MoneySavingExpert website while searching for a trustworthy partner to guide us through the complexities of lease extension, especially with the impending leasehold reform. Homehold tackled all our questions with clarity and expertise.

While our freeholder wasn’t particularly difficult to negotiate with, Homehold’s team provided invaluable advice throughout the process. Their keen eye for detail spotted peculiarities in the documentation reviewing process that ultimately saved us several thousand pounds!

Though I won’t need to use them again anytime soon, I’ve been happily recommending them to anyone facing similar challenges. I only wish I had found them sooner—they made the process so much simpler.

I am extremely pleased with the service provided by Homehold and LLS. They have explained things in a clear and transparent way throughout the entire process, from the first conversation on the phone with the rep from Homehold, through the legal process with LLS, up to the final signing of the lease extension. They gave me a realistic timeframe from the beginning, and there have been no unexpected costs or problems. They kept me updated frequently and regularly. Service is rarely this good these days! I would recommend them to everyone!

I was made aware of Homehold Lease Extensions thanks to the excellent and most helpful Lambeth Leaseholders community. A number of leaseholders within the group had employed Homehold to extend their leaseholds where Lambeth Council owned the freehold and they all spoke well of the service they had received.

I did consider other options but came to the conclusion that the well rated one-stop-shop offered by Homehold was in theory the best strategy.

I'm delighted to report that this proved to be true in practice too. The Homehold team were incredibly communicative and clear with their instructions throughout the process which as anticipated took quite a few months. I felt confident and assured at all times that despite the lengthy duration no time was being lost as the team were regularly updating me on progress (or in some cases, the unavoidable lack thereof during any periods they were left waiting for a response).

In the end the lease was indeed extended as speedily as possible in the circumstances and the cost of that extension was reasonable.

I would highly recommend Homehold for anyone in a similar situation looking to extend their lease.

We used Homehold to extend our lease, which was rapidly approaching 80 years. We found the whole team to be extremely professional and their expertise exceptional. The ability for them to provide the complete service made it completely hassle free and the fees were very fair.
