Product not as advertised
I cannot stress enough how useless the platform is for garden design. The outputs were not realistic or useable. Almost every step involved prompts to purchase additional add-ons or upgrade to a more expensive plan — even during the cancellation process.
I ended up doing the planning with ChatGPT, which worked great and was cheaper. I was able to cancel the account without issues and got a refund.

IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL
IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL, but quick and easy to sign on. I tried to cancel on a Monday before a renewal on Tuesday. I received an email telling me the company was out of the office because of the Easter holiday and they would take care of it when they returned. Well, they didn't and I was charged for an additional month. I have been promised time and again that they are working on the refund. It's over 6 weeks later and they are still working on the refund. To add, I was canceling because I did not like or want the software anymore, and I was tried of the constant upselling. Find another software program for home design.
Update: June 6, 2026. I still haven't received a refund though they have sent me 11 emails saying they are working on it. The promise of a refund started on April 16. I was even issued an invoice showing that they had processed the refund. What a laugh!

I purchased HomeDesigns AI to integrate the `floor_editor` API endpoint into a real customer-facing visualization workflow for a flooring business. After paying and integrating, I discovered the product does not deliver on what the marketing, documentation, or pricing pages promise.
**What I experienced:**
1. **API response times are completely unusable for any commercial application.** The endpoint takes an extraordinary amount of time to return a single image — far beyond anything reasonable for a paid API marketed to real estate, retail, and customer-facing visualization use cases. Nowhere on the website, documentation, or pricing page is the actual latency disclosed. This is a critical omission for any developer evaluating the product.
2. **The pricing structure is a textbook upgrade trap.** Everything revolves around pushing you to the next tier. The base service does not deliver acceptable performance even after you've paid, and the "solution" presented is always to upgrade. This is not a pricing model — it is a bait-and-switch.
3. **Their documentation actively oversells what the API can do.** Use cases are advertised that the API cannot realistically serve in any production environment, given the actual response times.
4. **Customer support is slow and defensive** when raised with these issues.
I lost money on this. More importantly, I lost development hours integrating something that does not work as sold.

HomeDesignsAI has very limited features, but that’s not even the main problem. The biggest issue is how difficult they make it to cancel the subscription, since everything has to go through email. You buy a very basic ia program, if you want more basic options, you pay a lote... You give Simple direct orders and doesn' t work... I asked for a refund and is a very dificcult burocratic processo.

Difficult to use, Impossible to cancel
I requested cancellation and a refund within 24 hours of purchasing, yet three months of charges have since been taken from my account via PayPal with no action taken on my request.
Despite contacting the company, my cancellation has been ignored and I am now having to pursue a PayPal dispute and chargeback to recover my money. This is completely unacceptable — a company that makes it easy to sign up but impossible to cancel is not one I can recommend.
Avoid, and make sure you screenshot any cancellation requests immediately.

50% scam, 50% terrible quality
I attempted their free trial, but discovered that they don't give free trials after uploading an image. I decided to spend $30 for their basic plan. The results were very poor. Additionally, I first had to navigate through about 5 pages of "one time upgrade" offers to even try my basic plan. The results were terrible - far worse than with other programs. The resulting image was structurally impossible in the photo that I sent them. I would have had to tear down a wall. I tried to cancel, but there is no "cancel subscription" option. Instead, I've had to send them an email requesting cancellation. I'll be following my credit card to see if they actually cancel the subscription. If not, Chase will do it for me!

My home is one big long-term refurb project and I have so many ideas. This can be quite overwhelming...and overwhelm is not good for productivity! This is where HOME DESIGNS AI really showed it's worth to me. The designs generated help me to instantly see what I love and exclude what doesn't work for me. This really narrows the creative - chaos in my brain and helps me to stay more focused on an idea that I KNOW will look good, because I have seen it in real time (not just in my head lol!)
I was also very pleasantly surprised to see fresh ideas. Designs that I had not even considered, were generated and this really inspired me with some very lovely improvements.
For me, the app is a great tool. I imagine that if this (revamps and reno's) was my business, it would be a no-brainer, absolute essential! It's amazing how much time it and money it can save, just by allowing you to visualise an idea in the actual space. No more money wasted on paint colours that dont-quite-work lol!

I had a very disappointing experience with this platform.
The generated designs are extremely generic and do not realistically reflect the actual photos uploaded. The results feel like stock images rather than true AI-enhanced transformations of real spaces.
From a usability standpoint, the tool lacks precision and fails to maintain layout, proportions, and key elements, which is critical for anyone serious about interior design or real estate visualization.
Additionally, the cancellation process is not user-friendly, requiring manual email requests instead of offering a simple in-platform option.
