I found the high pressure upsell…
I found the high pressure upsell tactics one is hit with on the initial registration and purchase phase of the program a complete turn off. I did not find the program to be intuitive and the program was unable to complete a task to generate a picture of a wall color change with a stone exterior of a home - only a stone exterior. I did not wish to invest any more time with limited results before I canceled the membership for HomeDesignsAI.

Our intention is not to bait users into purchasing a plan. Free generations can be available when server load allows, while continued access and additional functionality are offered through our paid plans. That said, if the transition from trying the design workflow to seeing the available plans felt unexpected, then we clearly have room to make that experience more transparent.
We appreciate you pointing this out, especially since you mentioned you would have considered subscribing if the offering had been clearer upfront. That is exactly the kind of feedback we can use to improve the onboarding experience.

This website is an absolute scam! Signed up and paid for the Expert membership. Found out it did not do what i needed and was being bombarded by upgrade options. Went in my profile to cancel - this isnt possible - big red flag straight away. You have to email them. I emailed stating I wasnt happy, requested cancellation and refund. Did not get a reply. I have just been charged again for another month's membership.
Companies that only allow cancellation by email and then do not respond to emails are a SCAM! BEWARE THIS COMPANY!!!!!! I now need to contact my back and stop payments.

Since placing this review the company has emailed to give a refund. This has now been processed. To note - I signed up on 11th June. Found the website experience to be very poor after I paid for Expert, getting bombarded with further requests to upgrade. I found the Expert package did not suit my needs at all and requested cancellation and refund on 12th June by email. No response and another months payment taken out on July 12th. Requested cancellation again and refund and placed this review. Received an email response day later and a refund.

I'd be really careful
On July 9, 2026 I subscribed to HomeDesigns.ai and paid for the Expert plan, which appeared to be the highest subscription tier available. Immediately after signing up, I was repeatedly presented with pop-ups encouraging me to upgrade my account. It felt more like navigating advertisements than using a design application.
My goal was simple: upload a photo of a room and generate a rendering with specific design instructions. However, when I attempted to enter detailed AI prompts, I discovered that this feature required yet another upgrade to a "Pro" plan, effectively increasing the cost from about $37/month to around $70/month. I found this disappointing because I believed I had already purchased the highest available subscription.
The interface itself was also frustrating. Navigation was slow, glitchy, and constantly interrupted by upgrade prompts. After spending nearly two hours trying to create a usable rendering, I gave up.
Canceling the subscription was equally frustrating. Instead of providing a simple cancellation option, I was directed to email help@homedesigns.....(you know the rest). I sent two separate emails requesting cancellation and never received a response. Ultimately, I had to contact my bank to dispute the charge.
My experience was that the marketing promised far more than the product delivered. If you're considering subscribing, I would encourage you to research carefully and understand exactly which features are included before purchasing.

False advertising
False advertising. I paid for the top tier package with a 30 day money-back guarantee. CA$55.37 for the Expert Package. When I tried to use AI prompt or edit the image produced by the generic options, it redirected to a page telling me I had to buy a Premium, Business, or other package at $90 USD or more each to access the features that I thought I was getting. There's no way to find out about this before paying for the subscription as far as I can tell. Without being able to use AI prompts and then change an image through iterations, this is no better than any free AI generator out there. There's nowhere to click to cancel. It requires messaging them, and then goes into review. I've cancelled on the same day as purchasing in case this takes a long time.

I used HomeDesigns to reimagine a new elevation for an older home
I used HomeDesigns to reimagine an updated elevation of our 30 year old beach house. Once I learned the settings I preferred, it generated some depictions that were exactly what I had in mind, as well as some I wouldn't have imagined. It provided some very doable options to achieve the look we desired. I was able to take one generated photo and change specific things like the front door, garage, walkway, etc. We are now implementing many of those suggestions and I feel comfortable spending that money having been able to visualize the result. Customer service was extremely supportive and communicative throughout the process as well. Will definitely use again for future projects!

Cash grab that doesn't work
Everything went downhill right after signing up for a month. I couldn't use the tool right away because every screen was a ploy trying to upsell me - despite the fact I hadn't even used it yet. Then I tried it and kept getting errors. I'm 15 minutes into trying this tool and I'm out $40 bucks - but it hasn't worked at all. Terrible experience.

I purchased the HomeDesigns AI…
I purchased the HomeDesigns AI Individual plan (Ticket #14850). Unfortunately, there was no option to properly try the service without first paying, so I requested a refund within 10 minutes of my purchase.
The main reason for my refund request is that I found the website to be overwhelmingly focused on upselling. There are constant pop-ups promoting upgrades and discounts, making it very difficult to complete even simple tasks. The user experience feels cluttered, distracting, and unprofessional, and I found it to be a frustrating waste of my time.
I strongly recommend improving the website by reducing the number of upgrade and discount pop-ups. At the moment, they appear almost continuously, which significantly affects usability and makes the platform difficult to use effectively.

Vague pitch, no preview, no straight answers — avoid
Update: After posting this review, the company replied politely below, but privately reported my review as “not genuine” and demanded my personal details through Trustpilot. I then received an automated message saying my review may not be recognised as genuine unless I hand over those details directly to them. I find it odd that a customer warning others must “prove innocence” and provide receipts — which I have — while the company’s own behaviour raises more questions than my review ever could.
Since joining their webinar, I’ve also been receiving two marketing emails (spam) per day that I never opted into. Taken together, the reporting, the pressure to disclose personal information, and the flood of unsolicited emails, paint a very different picture from the friendly public reply under my review. It reinforces exactly why I felt their practices were misleading in the first place.

Landed here via a Facebook ad for virtual staging, which led to a "free webinar" advertised as 38 minutes. It ran past 52 minutes and I left without ever getting a straight answer to two basic questions: (1) what exactly are you selling — a software tool, or a "we'll do it for you" service? and (2) do customers generate the images themselves, or does your team redesign the photos for us? I asked both more than once. No answer either time. The chat moderator was responding to easier, more general questions from excited attendees but skipped mine entirely. After 52 min I genuinely couldn't tell if this was a software pitch or a mentorship/service upsell and the guy was going on and on with his reviews and conversations from happy clients...
I left, checked their AI tool name and went to the website directly to try to judge the tool on its own. There is no way to generate even a single sample image before paying — no free tier, no watermarked preview, nothing. You upload a photo, pick a style, click generate, and it routes you straight to login, then straight to plans. Cheapest plan is US$42/month, (more than I currently pay for ChatGPT or Gemini) with zero way to sample output quality first. I then remembered I was on their website before and I emailed asking if there was any way to see one single output — watermarked, non-downloadable, didn't matter — just to judge accuracy before committing. The reply I got was dismissive, not helpful.
Between the vague pitch, the unanswered basic questions, the webinar running 14+ minutes over its advertised length, and the complete absence of any way to preview output quality, this whole funnel is built to get you emotionally invested before you can evaluate anything. I'd avoid until they're willing to let you see actual results before asking for a card.
