Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 736 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the service, finding it misleading due to hidden fees and an unclear subscription model. Customers frequently reported issues with pricing transparency, noting unexpected charges and a lack of clarity regarding the true cost of services. The cancellation process was also a major source of frustration, with many encountering significant and undisclosed cancellation fees. Though some customers were satisfied with the quality of the cleaning and the professionalism of individual staff members, a few other people also felt that the staff's performance was inconsistent, with some cleaners not completing tasks or arriving late. Reviewers also mentioned concerns about the company's communication and customer support.

Its a SCAM do not use Homeglow

Its a SCAM, they trick you with an initial cleaning and then you are locked in to a monthly subscription that you have you pay a cancellation fee for!.

Homeaglow: Bad Experiences

The subscription is mandatory for six months when you purchase the first time and after the first time cleaning. Even that you not satisfy the cleaning. If you want to cancel the subscription, they will charge you termination fee.
Why does a customer automatically become bound to a membership after using the first cleaning service, even if the customer is not satisfied with the result?

From a customer's perspective, it seems more reasonable that the first cleaning should serve as a trial of your service. If the service meets the customer’s expectations, then the customer can voluntarily choose to subscribe to a membership. However, in my case, the first cleaning did not meet my expectations, yet I am still required to continue paying for a subscription or pay an early termination fee.

Could Homeaglow please clarify what service standards your company follows to ensure customer satisfaction? Is the membership primarily designed to attract customers with cheap pricing, while requiring them to continue paying even if the service does not meet their expectations?

I believe a fair approach would be to allow customers the option to decline the membership if the first service is unsatisfactory. I would appreciate it if you could reconsider the cancellation terms in my case given the circumstances.

Zero Stars

I would give zero stars if I could. I wanted to book someone to help a family member who was recovering from surgery, and I needed to have it done right away. To their credit, Homeaglow was the only company of several I contacted to even respond to me. The person who called me aggressively tried to push for the "membership" but I insisted on just one visit and then we'd see how it went. My card was charged for the agreed upon amount. My relative refused the gift of cleaning but was willing to reschedule on a later date. When I tried to contact Homeaglow I found them almost impossible to communicate with. Phone numbers either went unanswered, or I had to leave a voice mail which was never returned. Eventually I got them to confirm a new date. The cleaner was a NO SHOW. They tried to get me to reschedule but I insisted on cancelling and I did receive a refund. There is much more detail to this story, but the bottom line is I would NEVER use them, knowing what I do now.

Signed up for a 19.99 cleaning

Signed up for a 19.99 cleaning, which then enrolled me in a 59/ month minimum 6 month agreement. I was lead to believe that was good for 1 cleaning a month. I tipped the cleaner 20 bucks and then was charged another 100 bucks after she left... huge scam.

Absolute SCAM !

OMG ! This company is such a scam ! First they trapped me into signing by advertising a one time cleaning at $18 per hour. Then they say there is a $140 cancellation. Now they have charged me a monthly of $60 for membership AND $180 additional in mysterious fees that I don't know what it is ! Like what the hell, and there is NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT, i don't know how to get my money back at all. I wish I had read their reviews.

you have to pay even if they cant find a cleaner

we had a 6 month membership as they require so you have to pay there membership fee every month no matter if they can find someone to clean your house or not. out of those 6 months only 2 times were we able to get someone out. nobody would pick up our cleaning, we tried different times and dates and either they didnt pick up or they would last minute cancel.

Scam! Don’t fall for it!

I cannot say enough bad things about this deceptive service. They offer you a three hour cleaning for $19 if you accept, it is not clear on the page that you are signing up for a six month membership at $50 a month. I live in a not very big town in Vermont and they have not been able to find me cleaners. Their cleaners confirm and then never show up. I spend hours picking up my house to get ready for someone to come clean and then no one shows up. I have had to cancel meetings in order to be home for someone who never comes and I never get notified of the cancellation. Despite being unable to source Cleaners for me, they continue to charge me $50 a month and refuse to waive the $140 cancellation fee even though THEY are unable to provide service. This is completely deceptive and an absolutely terrible service.

Including the initial voucher, platform, cancellation, and other fees, I paid $353 for 8 hours of cleaning with a pro who charges $25/hour. Ridiculous.

Avoid Homeaglow.

Avoid Homeaglow.

I experienced a serious incident during a cleaning booked through their platform involving theft of personal property and a physical altercation. What’s worse than the incident itself is how Homeaglow handled it.

They failed to conduct any fair or balanced investigation and instead accepted the cleaner’s claims at face value, suspended my account, and denied responsibility. I was told to “contact the cleaner directly” to recover stolen property—despite never being given any contact information. That is not just unhelpful, it’s completely irresponsible.

Homeaglow advertises a Theft and Damage Policy, but in my experience it is meaningless. I met every listed requirement—paid in full, reported within the required timeframe, maintained a good account standing—and my claim was still dismissed. The policy appears to exist only to give customers a false sense of protection.

This situation raises serious concerns about customer safety and accountability. When a company sends someone into your home, they should stand behind that service. Homeaglow does not.

If something goes wrong, do not expect support, protection, or even a basic level of fairness.

Use this service at your own risk.

not a good experience

not a good experience, got charged multiple times over 3 days when no one came to my house, got charged twice each for 6 hours worth of cleaning on the day she came, and only stayed for 3 hours, then tried to insist we pay cash on the side for an additional 6 hours for the person(her son) that she brought with her. was dissapointed in the quality of work and lack of intention to detail. Didnt get the additional services we paid for, the whole time she was at my house she was messaging me worrying about getting paid, trying to get us to go all cash on the side even after I explained I had been charged 3 times before anyone ever showed up. in total 1 charge for 20 dollar coupon, 4 charges for 6 hour cleanings, when we only actually received 1, and we gave them 60 cash politely, to get them out of hour house. extremely dissapointed, and sad.

Utter trash

I only paid for a one time cleaning service fee using a voucher I received. Next thing I know they are charging me for a membership I never signed up for. When I noticed this back in October I told them to cancel it because I never signed up for it. “Emma” or whatever the name of their customer service team is started giving me the run around saying that I have to pay over $100 to cancel it. Excuse me? It is ILLEGAL for you to charge someone for a service they are not using. It is unprofessional for you to force someone into a membership that they never signed up for. I will NEVER use their service again. These people are scammers and they have been stressing me out since last year October. Why am I being charged several months later after using a service only one time and never signing up for a membership? Anyone with a sane mind would cancel the membership I never signed up for, apologize and hope to use their service again, but instead they kept giving me the run around. Very weird people. I hope their business falls one day. These are not trustworthy people. And not to mention, their cleaning service was trash.
