Not a Great Value

The sales presentation we attended was fundamentally misleading and utilized high-pressure tactics. Furthermore, we have determined that the expenses linked to this service significantly outweigh the actual value provided. Despite our clear desire to cancel, we are being prevented from doing so.

I would give 0 stars if I could - this is a complete SCAM. They say no blackout dates but conveniently can't ever seem to accommodate the dates you request even when they are available on their website.

Even after we filed a formal request to terminate our account, Holiday Inn has demonstrated a total lack of interest in resolving our issues. It appears their only motivation for reaching out is to collect payments. I urge others to avoid this membership entirely!

IBad Business

I have no idea what is wrong with these people now I'm a IHG reward member and I needed a reset so I booked to do the timeshare and this time stay on the resort in Orange Lake for Holiday Inn Vacation Club now why booking my reservations I had to pay $ $249 to hold the room it took them Less Than 3 seconds to take that amount off my card it was all paid at once after I did the timeshare and I told these people I wasn't interested they just kept sending more and more people to try to get me to buy this timeshare I told him I wasn't interested we had an impending tornado warning coming in now instead of them giving me a physical master or Visa card for my 249 that I return they gave me a virtual card and telling me that I could use it on it Apple pay Samsung wallet and some other type of wallet which I'm not familiar with I've never used these things it seems as though I'm running to opposition after opposition trying to use the card and to get all my money back at once if they took it at once I've called nobody knows what the world's going on and then you have 12 months to use this thing otherwise they take your money this is ratchet business practices and I don't expect for them to be playing with my money like this I've tried to get a hold to the head honcho over at the Times your place and to no avail beware when you do these timeshare presentations that you are going to get your money back not on a virtual card where you got to go to Apple pay or Samsung pay or Google pay to get your money what is wrong with people these days they're quick to snatch your money what you got to go through changes to get it back this is causing me a great deal of distress and I want my money I'll know better next time tornado or not I'm going to make sure that they give me not a virtual card but a real card physical that has my money back on it this is very nefarious these days people quick to take your money and want to give you a headache to get it back

Holiday Inn, DON’T SIGN UP FOR IT

Holiday Inn has shown a complete lack of interest in addressing our concerns, even after we submitted a formal request to close our account. It seems they are only interested in contacting us when it involves a payment. I strongly advise others against signing up for this membership!

Steer clear of this timeshare!!

Steer clear of this timeshare; it is a huge waste of time and money. The misleading sales practices and the complete lack of value this ownership provides are a few of the reasons we want out.

The fees keep increasing, making this a crushing financial burden, and the severe restrictions make the timeshare nearly impossible to use. We have wasted thousands of dollars on a contract that offers no utility.

I have filed complaints with the timeshare company in the past, but they do not take any meaningful action. They simply express understanding without resolving the issues. Our attempts to cancel have been met with relentless obstacles, and their only resolution is often a non-negotiable, large exit fee. Save yourself the stress and financial hit.

Our experience with this timeshare has…

Our experience with this timeshare has been defined by a deep sense of being tricked by the sales representatives. We were lured in with grand presentations of travel benefits and exclusive privileges that were never delivered as promised. The "beneficial investment" we were sold has proven to be an unusable asset that provides none of the service or value we were led to expect.
When we recognized the burden this ownership created and tried to cancel, the company suggested we use a third-party resale company. Following this advice resulted in a substantial waste of money with absolutely no outcome, as there is no realistic resale market for these packages. We were essentially funneled into another financial trap under the guise of an "exit strategy".
At this stage, the timeshare company insists there is nothing further they can do, leaving us with a costly and unwarranted obligation. This entire situation feels fundamentally unfair and unethical, as the company continues to profit from a contract built on misinformation. We strongly urge others to avoid making the same mistake we did; do not trust the promises made by these representatives.

Fool me once.

I think most of the reviews speak for themselves. Customer service once you have purchased is horrible they really don't care about anything but your money and that is once they have it. It really doesn't matter to these companies few people learn and there are always gullible people that will get it because of the very few that benefit from it

★☆☆☆☆

Our experience with the Holiday Inn Vacation Club sales team was one of the worst customer service experiences we've ever had.

We came in interested in learning more and were considering ownership, but the sales process quickly turned into a high-pressure and uncomfortable situation. When we expressed that we wanted additional time to research before making a major financial commitment, we were told that we should have done our research before agreeing to attend the presentation.

The situation became even worse when a senior salesperson named Russell was brought in to "save the deal." He was offering us a $10k deal. Rather than addressing our concerns professionally, he was dismissive, argumentative, and belittling. He openly stated that this was a high-pressure sales environment and essentially suggested that we should have expected this treatment. When I told him I felt he was being rude and that I didn't like his approach, he responded by accusing me of being rude.

Russell withdrew the proposed $10,000 incentive and stated that he did not think we should be owners - that he wouldn’t feel right, but we weren’t going to sign anyway. When I later told our original salesperson that I felt Russell's behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional, Russell overheard the conversation and immediately became confrontational. He stated that once we started talking about employees, the meeting was over and we needed to leave.

As we were gathering our belongings, I continued to explain why I felt his behavior had been rude. At one point, my husband quietly laughed under his breath at the situation, and Russell incorrectly claimed that my husband was agreeing with him. In reality, my husband was reacting to Russell's behavior, not agreeing with his comments. Russell then stated that he would be making notes in our file, which felt unnecessary and said as an intimidating action. The entire interaction left us feeling disrespected and reinforced our decision not to move forward.

At no point did we feel that our questions or concerns were respected. Instead of helping us make an informed decision, the sales team relied on pressure, blame, and intimidation tactics.

If this is how prospective buyers are treated, it raises serious concerns about how actual owners are treated after they sign. We left with a very negative impression of the company and would not recommend sitting through this sales presentation.

Holiday Inn Club Vacation truly is high pressure garbage

Received a call yesterday from IHG asking if I would take a 1 minute, 5 question survey about my usage and stays with IHG, I said sure, survey was easy, glad to help, after the survey they asked if I would be interested in staying on the line for another quick survey for an additional 500 IHG points, sure. Transferred to Holiday Inn Club Vacations, listened to the ladies spill, at the end she asked for a payment to secure a visit to one of their locations (timeshare pitch coming), I told her I don't make such commitments until I speak with my wife. She switched tactics, added more incentives, decreased price and again asked for payment to which I again replied that I would need to speak with my wife and call her back, she asked if I could call my wife while she waited, I told her I didn't appreciate the pressure being applied, she got offended and stated she wasn't applying pressure etc, I told her if the pressure continued then I would be forced to hang up, at which point she called me rude, and started to say more but I didn't hear the rest as I hung up. This company truly is garbage. I owned with them before and would never purchase timeshare from them again, would I use their "stay for $249 or $199 offers" and listen to a pitch, sure. But hey would get a resounding no, time and time again to purchase their timeshare garbage.

The sales team was fraudulently misleading and performed a bait and switch on us. We met with them at Cape Canaveral Location and told them we only wanted beach front villas at Canaveral. Turns out we belong to the Orlando site (which we thought was just the corporate location).

We were unable to book beachfront villas because we didn't have the right ownership and they wanted us to spend more $ to upgrade.

Avoid at all costs.

HORRIBLE COMPANY

Been an "owner" for 12 years. Ended up with this albatross after a divorce. Have tried multiple avenues to get out. Don't owe a mortgage at this point, just taxes and maintenance but I don't' want to be associated with them any longer. Recent trip was a disaster. Was charged $50 for missing an "owner update" appt, even though I called and reported that I couldn't make it. Seriously? I'm an "owner" and you charge ME for missing an appt? Sheila is the one who put the charge in. FYI "owner updates" are high-pressure sales tactics to get you to buy more "points." That's it, that's all it is. Not an update, just a sales pitch.
I have called multiple times to complain, filed a fraudulent charge with my CC company as well. DON'T GET HOOKED INTO THIS COMPANY!!!! JUST SAY "NO"!! RECORD EVERYTHING, EVERY CONVERSATION, WRITE DOWN EVERY NAME OF EVERY PERSON YOU COME INTO CONTACT WITH.
At this very moment I'm on the phone, on hold again, for nearly an hour, waiting to talk to my 4th person of the morning. WAITING, WAITING. While they hope I'll give up and hang up. That's the way they avoid your concerns. Make you wait so long that you just give up any hope of getting satisfaction. JUST AVOID THEM AT ALL COST!!!

The costs we have already incurred and the ongoing payments being demanded are excessive when weighed against the limited vacation availability provided. Despite our attempts to terminate this arrangement, they refuse to allow us to close the account.

Don't book a Holiday Inn Club Vacation

Don't book a Holiday Inn Club Vacation. They will offer you a deal on a vacation package and tell you it's only available during their phone call. They will not share all the information with you and then when you learn the critical information, they will refuse a refund. They're super nice when getting your money, but after that expect only a cold refusal email. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T BOOK!!

Absolute garbage company

Absolute garbage company. If you want to be baited, lied to, and pressured into giving up your grandfathered account, attend one of their owner meetings.

I’ve been an owner for over 15 years. To be fair, I’ve gotten my money’s worth in vacations over the years and still use it. However, this recent experience was beyond unacceptable.

I normally avoid these meetings because they’re always high-pressure sales pitches, but this time I was specifically promised help with a deed issue if I attended. I was also told to pay upfront for a visa resort card and assured I would be refunded after the meeting.

After sitting through the meeting, I brought up the deed issue I was promised help with, only to be told they “don’t handle that.” Then they refused to refund the money because, according to them, the conversation involved “deed issues” instead of “marketing and sales.” In other words, they lied to get me there, took my money, and wasted the last relaxing morning of my vacation before a 13-hour drive home.

I spoke with three different managers, and every single one gave me a different excuse or story. Then I was told to go to the main building and speak with a manager named Amber. When I arrived, another employee lied directly to my face and claimed Amber wasn’t there and that “they already heard about me,” saying there was nothing they could do.

No apology. No accountability. Just dishonesty from start to finish.

Avoid this place like the plague. Don’t buy into anything they promise. I was young when I fell for it 15 years ago. Read the reviews and save yourself the stress and headache.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. The core issue is the feeling of being locked into a seemingly perpetual contract, stemming from what I view as a misleading bait-and-switch during the initial sales presentation. Moreover, the costs to actually utilize the resorts are excessive and do not justify the quality or value of the accommodations received.
