Hired GPS for my last USA visit, all went smoothly, will definitely be using again in September

Hired from this poor company last year gps arrived without sim card . Had to contact them 24hrs before we left for the states,.and hastily they had to get a courier out and deliver the sim before we left the uk..a good company would of double checked this oversite before posting out gps.and this year we gave them the benifit of the doubt and hired one for a 2 week holiday in the florida panhandle..and surprise surpruse when we arrived in florida..guess what?..it didnt work...?..for 3 days off and on I tried to get a signal....in the end had to buy one from walmarts costing $89 around £60.. contacted them and told em a few home truths..still out of pocket.....DONT HIRE FROM THIS COMPANY.

Hiring a US Sat Nav before you travel is far cheaper than the hefty deposit the car hire company would have taken out of our credit card for this at the other end, and gave us great peace of mind on American roads. Absolutely essential for navigating New York City lanes and East Coast freeways in particular, the Sat Nav also kept our driving in Florida and North Carolina a stress-free pleasure, whether on long haul or short trips.

Without the live traffic jam avoidance capability of the Sat Nav we would have been jammed in freeway traffic to La Guardia airport and would have missed our flight out of New York. Don't forget to check which states require ventilator mounting before you go.. Hire GPS quickly sent these as extras to us in time before we departed, after we realised which US States do not allow windscreen mounting.

I ordered the GPS and received it in two days. The GPS is the high quality good. The workers of the company are very friendly. But, the charger of GPS is broken, i bought a new charger :(

We arranged to hire a Satnav from these guys for our USA trip (San Fran to LA to Las Vegas) so needed something pretty reliable, Satnav arrived in plenty of time (in fact the day in which it was meant to of been dispatched) so ahead of schedule, used Satnav a lot while away as spend a week in LA so needed to do a fair amount of navigating! Going to return in post tomorrow to return. Great Service at great value.

I can say more than "it does what it says on the tin" an excellent service which I shall use again

I would only recommended this company to hire your gps system from. they were helpful and the gps arrived the next day. everything went smoothly I just wish other company's were the same.

We decided to hire a Satnav for our 2 week holiday in the USA and used HireGPS. They did everything they said on the internet page. The satnav arrived a few days before we left, it was a TOM TOM and very easy to use. It worked very well in the states. They even rang to confirm that they had received it back from us.
Would certainly use them again.

This was the second time I've used HIREGPS.CO.UK, and as usual great service. You get the GPS well in advance of your trip, just check it's got the correct maps and away you go. Compared to hiring a GPS device from the Car hire company, this way is a lot cheaper.

We would use this company again and have used it twice before. The satnav arrived in good time as per plan, worked perfectly whilst driving from San Francisco airport down the Californian coast to San Diego and back to LA again. We could not have driven through LA without it. And sending it back was straightforward. We have already recommended this company to others.

This is the first time we have hired a sat nav before reaching another country. We were worried about it arriving on time and also working when we reached our destination. The ordering process was easy, the people helpful. As we were very busy we did not check it until arriving at airport to find it didn't have the maps for USA. Rang the company and it was explained the machine would pick up the information on arriving in the USA. We had trouble with where connections fitted but once sorted was easy to use. We turned the machine on and off a few times and it picked up all the maps we needed for each areas we travelled. We would definitely use again but In future we will try out the machine before leaving home!!!

Had not considered hiring a gps for the states in this country and only came across this site by accident when looking to buy an American version.
I must confess that I was somewhat sceptical especially when I realised that it was "being run" from a small retail unit.
I decided to go ahead however and can not fault their service, The unit arrived as promised with plenty of time to spare.
When in the states for a three week 2,000 mile journey I found the unit to be about 98% accurate with only very recent road changes not shown.
It was easy to return the unit in the envelope provided but the postage charges did increase the cost by about 25%.
Overall therefore I was pleased with the service and would not hesitate recommending to fellow travellers. Will be using again myself later this year

We've hire a sat nav from this company as we desperately needed one on a short notice and for 3 days only.
Once we received the item, we found it was set up for Florida somehow, even though we specified we needed it for UK. After switching it on and off a few times, it finally recognised we were in UK (the morning after, so had to find our own way on the day we got it).
It then stopped itself completely twice while being used. The driver at the time was on his own and unable to stop and reset it straight away.
A refund has been requested 4 days ago now, and we're still waiting to hear back.
The fact that they're happily ignoring us changed a 3 stars review into a two stars (mainly because no one was openly rude, but quite frankly, we didn't get anything out of it apart from a new way to waste our money).
That was a complete waste of time and money, as the item didn't work 2 out of the 3 days it was needed. Poor quality and poor service.

Visited America last year (New England In The Fall). we traveled through five USA states therefore using the SatNav a great deal, it never failed us. We would use this service again and recommend friends. The SatNav arrived on time before our holiday and it was easy to return. We plan on exploring Italy this year and feel so confident we will be hiring again from this company. The SatNav was much cheaper that the one offered by the American hire car company when we arrived therefore it is a good decision to hire before travelling.

Good company to deal with, excellent communication. Problem was with the courier that they used - unit arrived on the 3rd Day - 2 days before holiday.
Unit also suffered from a loose connection and towards the end of the holiday unit required an update.

Originally looked online & then rang to speak to someone to confirm some information.
Well informed staff. Sat Nav arrived on time, on the Saturday morning, our flight was on the Monday, but travelled on the Sunday to the airport, so was getting a little concerned that it would arrive in time. The device was fine & much needed for touring round California.
Would definitely use them again & recommend them, probably work out cheaper than hiring with the car.
