Regarding the customs duties, we unfortunately cannot control the import taxes imposed by the destination country’s border control. However, we’ll continue to assist you with the return process and make sure the replacement helmet fits perfectly.

Need more transparency for international shipping
I recently ordered a helmet from you to the USA and was surprised to receive a $233 import duty bill from DHL. On your website, there’s no clear mention that duties wouldn’t be covered for US orders - only Europe is specified.
This was quite disappointing, especially after paying £49 for shipping. Had I known, I would have factored this into my purchase decision.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry the DHL duty bill came as an unwelcome surprise, and we appreciate the chance to clarify how international charges work.
All Hedon helmets are shipped from our workshop in the UK. Because they cross an international border, any import duties or taxes are assessed—and collected—by U.S. Customs, not by Hedon. This is explained in the order-confirmation email you received right after checkout, but we agree it should be more visible on the website and at the cart stage, and we’re already working on that.
Until April 2025, most personal imports under about US $2,000 usually cleared without duty. An executive order issued by new U.S. administration reduced the duty-free “de minimis” ceiling to US $800 while the policy is reviewed, so parcels that would previously have sailed through can now attract duty. The U.S. administration has said it will revisit the threshold again in July, but in the meantime carriers such as DHL must collect duty on anything valued above the new limit.
We understand that an unexpected US $233 fee—on top of £49 shipping—can spoil the excitement of receiving a new helmet, and we’re genuinely sorry for the frustration.

Quality of products is second to none. Absolutely premium. However, if you’re in the US, do yourself a massive favour and buy from Revzilla or another retailer. The paperwork and customs delays buying direct from Hedon completely ruined the experience for me.

The Leica of Helmets! I'm on my 5th Hedon lid and eyeing up the 6th! They are pure understated elegance, exquisite build quality and a customer service experience to match.
It does precisely what a helmet needs to do but just does it with style. It looks and feels special, on or off.
In a market segment with a plethora of choices and price points to suit everyone, Hedon is daring to do things differently and that takes plums! Plus, they are homegrown in London which I love to support.

Fab experience. Peak out of stock on the website but when I enquired, a lovely lady got back to me at about 7 in the evening saying that they could make one up for me. This was promised in about 10 days and lo and behold it turned up right on time. Brilliant quality and what great service. That’s how it should be done. A massive thank you to all at Hedon.
