Total scam
Total scam. Lowe's said the card was declined, the Happycard website blocked access when trying to obtain card balance, and a 30 minute wait for customer service when the wait time was "less than two minutes" never materialized.
Tried to use one of the cards someone…
Tried to use one of the cards someone gave me - problem is you have to know exactly how much is on the card to use it. I didn't so went to check the balance - it kept telling me the card number I was putting in was invalid. So now basically the card is useless - can't use it because I don't know the balance and can't check the balance. What a scam! Going to contact the companies on the card to tell them to stop supporting these scam cards.
Scam
Scam, illegal for gift cards to expire in Canada. Called to get a new card, which it says they will do online and on the card if the card is passed its "thru date." Was informed they wouldn't do anything.
The giftcard I received was for christmas.
The giftcard I received was for 6 different company's. One of them is Macy's. I went into their store in Eugene,OR to buy some clothes but the card would not process on any of 3 different terminals. The clerk suggested trying it online. I tried it online only to have the same problem. I was on hold for nearly an hour with happycards before giving up. I told my friend not buy anymore of these cards. I'm wonder if the companies on the cards get a cut of the scam. I wish my friend had seen these reviews before buying the card. I doubt anything will be done to rectify this injustice.
I tried to use my $50 happy card that I…
I tried to use my $50 happy card that I received as a gift. When the store clerk scratched for the card number it had expired. He told me no problem tell the company to issue a new one as it states on the card that funds do not expire. When I called the support number the message was that a new card would not be issued. I will pursue this.
Like everyone else my card was…
Like everyone else my card was defective. Purchased in May but when you look up the card balance it shows it was already purchased in April in Montreal 6 hours away from me. When I called the company they gave me grief and said well it was already activated and I said yeah it was activated two weeks before we even purchased it in another city nowhere near us and you can see that when you look it up and I have a receipt showing that I purchased it two weeks after someone else did in another city so how does that work and I stayed on the line with them until they said they would finally send me a new card within the next two weeks and that was 3 weeks ago and nothing. And there's no email contact for them for the Canadian site at all.
FRAUD ALERT: Cards do not work and they refuse to refund
I have 3 gift cards that my young son bought as gifts for me for separate occassions over 2 years ago and that I have not been able to use.
I called their customer service line but the lady insisted that she could only help me if my name and address was registered with the cards. This was news to me. There is no indication on the card that it has to be registered as soon as you receive it. Regardless, the cards are not registered, but my son has forked up money out of his allowance to buy me these as gifts.
I asked to speak to the manager but it seemed like they hung up on me.
The case number I was given is CS13038860.
I emailed the customer support on May 16 but to date have no reply.
WHAT A FRAUD!! These cards should be removed from all stores!
Scam Card - Scam Company
Tried to use for an online purchase. Message said they couldn't verify balance. Went to the HappyCard website and did a balance check. Got the same message.
Phoned their CS and got a message that it'd be an 8min wait. 30mins later the recording said it was now a 44min wait, so I hung up and sent them an email inquiry. I do not expect a reply.
I'm going to contact the store I was going to purchase from and let them know I'll not be purchasing their $180 product because of this $25 ripoff. Perhaps said company will pull out of this HappyCard scam.

The card I got is expired and I tried to call and contact their hotline to get a replacement card as per their instructions listed on their website.
I contacted them twice but I’ve never get the replacement card. This is definitely not a trustworthy company.

Had to call company at store on gift card, denied balance of $40
Negative 15 stars
I wish I could give them negative stars. Such a scam and it was embarrassing trying to use the card to pay. I had TWO cards....unused. then was told there was 99cents on one and zero on the other. The customer services man was rude and not helpful. CRAP BUSINESS WITH SHADY PEOPLE. Whoever is making out scamming all this money should be ashamed of themselves. Your grandma WOULD NOT BE PROUD and your dog too!!! NEVER AGAIN. AND I'm telling everyone to never buy these scam cards.
Happy gift card METABANK BEWARE
DO NOT WAISTE YOUR MONEY. SPEND YOUR MONEY ANYWHERE ELSE. DONT BUY. I HAVE $160 ON MINE FOR OVER 4 YEARS NOBODY I REPEAT NOBODY ACCEPTS THESE CARDS. METABANK ARE SCUMBAGZS. THEY COMFORTABLE SELL WORTHLESS CARDS. THE 1 855 NUMBER GIVES ZERO ANSWERS. I AM SEEKING A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THESE LOW LIFES. ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING.
it's a SCAM. Don't buy!
SCAM! The card was not working in the store. Waited forever on the customer support phone line and it was just music for 20min.
Horrible
Horrible! Will not work at any places on cards. Called customer service and they said we had to register card to use online, and then only could be used to exact gift card amount or less. Never again! This place should be banned for cheating customers!
SCAM AND LIARS
SCAM AND LIARS
Received the Happy Custom card for birthday last year (2023). Here are some facts:
1) there is NO expiry date on the card. The only time you see a Valid Thru date is after you scratch the grey panel (which you should only do when you are ready to pay according to Happy).
2) The back of the card reads: "Funds do not expire. if Valid Thru date has passed call for new card"
3) Entered my card# online to check the balance and it said the card is no longer valid (most people would throw out the card at this point and all the funds would have been kept by Happy)
4) Called the toll free number to get clarification and I was prompted to enter my card number. A recording comes on saying that the card has expired and the funds cannot be retrieved or replaced. It then says "speaking with a customer service agent will not provide a different answer as they have the same information available to them." (at this point 99% of people would throw out the card and all the funds would have been kept by Happy---see a pattern here?!)
5) Pressed on #1 regardless of what the recording said and waited 10 minutes to speak with an agent. She asked for the card# and advised me that the card can be replaced and will take 1 month to process.
6) She said some of their cards DO expire and that's why I got that recording at the beginning of the call. What doesn't make sense is that I entered my card# and the system should have known my card could be replaced but instead lead me to believe it was not good anymore and funds all gone. Another lie.
7) Agent told me that she did not know which of the Happy cards I would be shipped as it all depends "what we have in stock". I told her some of the cards are for merchants very far from where I live. She said no way of knowing or asking for a particular card.
8) Asked to speak to supervisor where I was told that the IVR system is incorrect and that I would be receiving the same type of card I originally had.
So the moral of this story....they lie at all stages so that customers throw out their cards and they get to keep the fund. In my case $150!!! Keep pushing as that is the only way you will see your money.
the reviews are accurate, this is a scam
Got a multi store gift card as a gift. Went to Macy's to use it and nobody there, including the manager could figure out how to use it. After 20 minutes I finally just paid with my credit card so I could get out of there. Went to use it online at Ulta and it's not valid online. Can't be used on Macy's online either. I have no clue if there is anywhere you can actually use this. If you are thinking of buying this for someone just get a regular store gift card that will actually work.
SCAM!!
SCAM!!
Echoing all the comments on here about this being a scam!
My son got a gift card for his birthday and the receipt was taped to it.
Went to use it and balance was $0!
The card number was activated and used in a town 30 minutes away!
Seems they are issuing cards with the same number.
Called company and nothing done. Was told a manager would call back and of course never happened.
Will tell everyone I know to NEVER buy one of these gift cards.
SCAM
SCAM! Wish I read all the other reviews saying it’s a scam before trying to use it at Macy’s and looking like an idiot trying to get the $25 card to work. The customer service staff at Happy Cards are hard to understand, unhelpful and combative. There has to be a class action lawsuit against these criminals. People are spending their hard earned money on these cards and they can’t be redeemed! Are you serious? How are they still being sold?
