Having used two other GPS tracking /…

Having used two other GPS tracking / training systems over the last 3 years has given me some good experience in evaluating the Halo 4. I have watched a few online video reviews that were contradictory, even by the same reviewer.

Halo 4 is nothing short of amazing; and, supports a variety of uses and creative training methods.

My dog is surrounded by 100s of acres of forest, ponds and water systems. And... he loves to hunt... not always a healthy situation for everyone involved. This system gives guidance and encouragement to him over and above other collars. The GPS even in dense forest works flawlessly! Most useful... when given a whistle or other deterrents they stop generating the commands if the GPS has shown he is doing the 'right thing' and coming back to me. It saved his life the other day when he went after a raccoon and ended up in a deep pond fighting for his life in the mud. I was able to locate him right away and help.

The other 'best thing' is the collar fits nicely and evenly around his neck and does not move once placed, and without apparent discomfort... unlike the other collars I had.

I cannot give this system enough praise -- design, function, customer support (amazing!!), training videos, care and use instructions.

I haven't used the 'fences' as yet, but am certain that system is stellar as well.

LOVE IT! THANK YOU~

Dangerous Construction

The collar was good initially and a good alternative to putting up a fence. There are definitely issues with false emergency alerts.
Beyond concerning was that 5 months after purchase one of the rivets fell out. Thankfully, I was there, as my puppy immediately tried to eat it. When I contacted customer service, they said I could not exchange the collar and they sent me replacement rivets. How am I supposed to trust that the rivets will stay in place? I can never leave the collar on her unsupervised. At the very least I should've received a new strap. As soon as I am able, I will purchase a Spoton collar and hope that my dog is better cared for and protected. Very disappointed in Halo customer service and care. I didn't mind spending the money to keep my puppy SAFE and instead I bought a collar whose poor construction could've cost her life or emergency surgery.

Rock solid warranty. When my collar became unable to charge…

When my collar became unable to charge I contacted customer service hoping to get it replaced. I’m happy to say the customer service rep was courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. She quickly acknowledged that my collar was under warranty and began processing my replacement. Within a few days I had my new collar. Well done. THANK YOU !

The upmost Excellence

They were extremely helpful. They were very patient and didn’t seem like they were in a hurry. They took the time to explain all the answers to my questions. It took a matter of seconds to answer my request for support. This is the absolutely best support experience I have ever had in my lifetime. It took a little bit of time to figure out how to get it though. It is done through the app, go to settings then to the Halo dog park. It is live guidance by a person through video.

Don't waste your money!

I spent more time troubleshooting the collar and on the phone with customer service than I had the collar working! Connectivity issues and the collar not "syncing" with the app for DAYS. Regardless of the hard resets done almost daily.

I should also mention we received THREE replacement collars from Halo and they did the same thing with the connectivity issues. This has happened to a friend of ours as well and they have switched to another system. We decided to do the same. It isn't worth the risk with the cost of the subscription and collars.

The one positive I have is their customer service was helpful! It's a great concept if it worked.....

My only complaint is that you cannot…

My only complaint is that you cannot have two accounts see the same collar. I'm not signing my whole Google account on to my wife's phone so she can use the collar. Crazy they don't have that feature.

The collars have helped tremendously, but….

The collars have helped tremendously. We went from having a fully fenced in yard, to no fence at all. My only complaint, we don’t have the strongest WiFi. I do feel like the collars end up lagging some. Our dogs seem to go over the boundary without the emergency boundary alert going off. Also, while I’m inside, and trying to check location, it won’t update their locations in the yard. It just has them as paused at their last known location. Other times, I’ll get a notification that a dog is way out of boundary, but the dog is on the porch.. which worries me that the dog is getting corrected when it doesn’t need to be…..

Our collar stopped working and was able to through the website place a zoom call with Monica. She professionally helped me navigate the process to obtain a warranty link. Once this was completed a new collar should arrive within 7 days. Entire call lasted under 5 minutes. Thanks a bunch!

Excellent Customer Service

I submitted a warranty claim to replace our Halo Collar. I called to get info on the shipping and spoke with Ashley. She was super helpful with answering my questions and provided additional information about the process that I wasn't aware of. After the phone call, I received a follow-up e-mail from her in case I had any additional questions, which I appreciated.

Halo's customer service is great

Halo's customer service is great. They are very helpful when issues with the collar comes up. As far as the product, it is great when it works, however, I am on my 4th collar in less than a year.

Halo Provides Heavenly Customer Service.

We had a problem on our collar (a prong broke off) that made it unusable. It was beyond the warranty period, but the company honored the warranty anyway and sent us a new collar. The alternative was going to be throwing away the collar and lamenting the loss of 500 dollars and the freedom the collar provided my dog.
