Really simple to use and gives a good indication of what’s possible - maybe sooner than some would expect. Lots of variables can throw things off course but that’s life. For anyone that hasn’t looke... See more

We only have one aim, to give savers direct access to, or allow trustees, employers and providers to provide tools their pension savers need, to improve their retirement outcomes. Put simply, there are plenty of tools which tell pension savers if they take A each year, earn B returns, their pots will last for C years. For almost everyone these offer no practical help, as nearly everyone has other income or savings to put towards retirement. Included in these are State Pensions, Final Salary pensions, ISA savings and part time work for example. Some of these are taxable, some are not. Our tool is the only fully holistic planning tool that can be used directly by individuals without expert input. Our tool answers the one question pension savers actually want answered, "How do I use everything I have, to get the after tax income I want in retirement?". You can visit the Guiide website for much more detail and to try it for yourself.

Guiide retirement finance modeller worked well for me. Gives both graphics and tabulated output. Easy data input and clear options for interest rate assumptions. A couple of additional features would make it even better. (1) ability to enter separately for a couple and give separate and combined model outputs and (2) showing the output of 5 stress tests in same graphic format rather than just a statement of impact. I suppose the idea is that for more in-depth you link through to a Financial Advisor? However the existing free features are pretty impressive.

It is the best free tool on the internet for stress testing pension plans I have found.
Kevin who is a director of Guiide is also very good at responding to suggestions when I emailed him.
It is brilliant.

Great features to change sections and try different scenarios.
Give it a go

Very very simple to use. Found it diffixult to extract some detailed analysis but this may just be my inexperience with the app.
But can quickly and easily assess the impact and longevity of investments given a desired cash drawdown rate and period of time.

Very user friendly, simple with no nonsense asking for all personal details… it’s just age related.

Excellent, simple and free pension planning tool. Looking forward to the eventual release of the expanded product, I'd happily pay a reasonable subscription fee for additional functions.

One of the better pension planning tools I have come across with useful profiling and chart output.

Good to get a high level assessment of what I have and what the future may hold financially.
I would want a more detailed assessment before I make any decisions but this is a very good start

I found it really useful and informative for me approaching retirement, the flexibility it's gives you to change data and run different scenarios IE retirement dates, investment pots and forecast % returns etc was awesome.
Loved the fact doesn't insist on contact details before it allows its use, even then it doesn't insist.

The retirement planning tool is excellent. It provides way more analysis than other tools I have tried. There are many more input variables allowing for the running of numerous “what if” scenarios. The graphical output is also very informative.
There are just a couple of enhancements that would be useful. It doesn’t seem to provide an easy way to calculate savings interest income from cash accounts and you have to input this as other income.
The ability to select Scottish tax bands would also be nice.
** Thanks for the reply Kevin but it isn't the "couples" enhancement I was talking about

A great tool to help with much needed retirement planning. Would have been 5 stars if it worked for couples. That said with a little bit of thinking it can be made to work for couples!

Will be 5 star once the update permits adding partner...

I'm an absolute beginner when it comes to retirement planning but found this tool helpful to get an initial approximate idea of how different options could play out over time. Of course, I'm certainly not going to base any decisions on this alone, but it helps me learn what I might want to clarify later with a regulated financial adviser or chartered financial planner.
