Great walking boots that were an excellent price. Not used on a long walk yet, but feel comfy. Only negative is that they feel a bit heavy.

Dreadful walking boots

Dreadful walking boots, split across both soles even with minimal use. Dreadful quality and their customer service does not respond to me.

And expensive too!

Excellent boots and customer service

Excellent boots and customer service. I purchased a pair of boots, the hinged eyelets failed. I contacted customer service, who, professionally sent me a replacement pair of boots in a couple of days. No quibbles, i just had to send a pic and order number. These boots are great too!! So thank you - you definitely deserve 5*

Alligator boots

Brought a pair of alligator boots as they have the water stop feature upper and I’m using them in wet fields daily. First pair leaked on the first day found that the weld between upper and sole had come apart. Returned them and had a new pair arrive. These lasted two days of wearing before same problem occurred boxing them up now for a refund.

Rubbish boots

Have had the same problems as everybody else with the leather uppers breaking away from the sole after minimal wear, rendering the boot completely useless. My advice is to avoid Grisport at all costs if you want a pair of boots that lasts and delivers value for money.

Received a pair of boots bought for me…

Received a pair of boots bought for me by my partner for my birthday, overjoyed to see that there was a pair of walking socks and waterproof gloves included as a free gift. Unfortunately the boots were too big, so were returned for a smaller pair. We packaged everything back up, (including the free gifts), and returned everything to Grisport. I receive the replacement boots today, but sadly no free gift was included, just goes to show being honest doesn’t always pay!
It’s a bit petty I know, but I will be returning the replacement boots for a refund, if you can’t look after your customers, why should your customers look after you?
Shame because the boots are great!

Beware of how long you want your boots to last!

After speaking with Grisport customer services initially, regarding their different boots, and suitability for different terrains, and my wider foot fitting, I was recommended the Snowdon, a new addition to their range, priced at £125.00.( April 2023)

I actually found the Snowdon boots being offered for sale at £114.95 by Outdoor Action in Blackburn, via eBay, practically £10 cheaper than the Grisport website, and so I bought them. I didn’t use them outside until I had worn them inside to allow the leather to form to my feet, but began walking in them at the end of April, this year.

I am 71 yrs old, 76 kg, and walk around 20 miles a week, on a mixture of tarmac, rough country track, and grass, locally, in Somerset. The boots are the most comfortable walking boots I have ever owned, to date, being made from Italian leather. They are fitted with a Vibram sole, which I have looked for on previous walking boots I have owned, and the boot has an impact absorption layer. ( note that Vibram soles come into their own more in muddy conditions, but do not appear to grip so well on smooth stone, metal, raised white road lines, etc) For me, that impact absorption layer possibly contributes to a feeling of slight vagueness in placing my feet, but only if I concentrate on the fact, otherwise they are very comfortable to walk in.
Recently, I have noticed that the rear outer quadrants of both heels have already begun showing signs of wear, with the lighter coloured layer beneath the tread, beginning to show through. This is only after three months use, which I thought was really unacceptable, the heel appears to be made of quite a soft compound.

However, when I emailed the suppliers, they agreed that I had not had them long, but it may be that I walk heavier on my heels and the terrain I walk on may be too hard???? They advised me that they would be sending a warranty claim to Grisport.

Grisport customer services replied, via the supplier ( because my sale contract is with them) that in their opinion the reason for the wear showing so early on the heels was most likely caused by how I walk in them, and the terrain I was walking on. They concluded that therefore the cause for the wear was not due to a manufacturing defect so did not come under the warranty!

I couldn’t believe what I was reading, so I re contacted the supplier. The guy I spoke to was of the same opinion, but clarified it further. First of all, in his opinion, 20 MILES A WEEK is excessive walking, and is not average for most people. Everyone walks in a different way, as we get older, some wear the left side of the sole tread and heel, others, the right. Some walk in a way as to wear the heels the way that I have, but that in itself is not a cause for blaming the boot ( in his opinion)

The test for choosing the right boot for you is a delicate cross between comfort, durability and longevity. Rarely will you find a boot that satisfies all these points. It’s a compromise, according to how much harder wearing you need the leather and sole to be, as to how comfortable they’ll be to walk in.

The Snowdon boot lies roughly in the middle price range of walking boots, but is designed to be comfortable, primarily. The impact absorbing Vibram sole is used to make walking a pleasant experience, and here is where this boot scores highly. It is not, however, made to withstand what I have been told is quite harsh work, at between 80 - 100 miles a month, on relatively hard tarmac and farm tracks. Were they used mainly on softer grass and muddy paths, they will last a lot longer. I at first found this to be an odd concept, but despite being initially angry with both Grisport and the supplying retailer, I get the point (sadly)

If you are a seasonal Walker, or perhaps you do the odd marathon walk for charity, like I did last year, but little else, except the occasional Sunday walking your local countryside or on coast paths ( but don’t walk too heavily on those boots😂😳) then the Snowdon is definitely the best choice for you, particularly if you are a wider foot fitting.

Just beware about expecting too much from your new boots. Discuss your requirements with a shop employee who has either been professionally trained to advise you, or speak to walkers that are out there all the time, in all weathers.
Explain carefully how many miles you walk a week or month, or expect to walk, how often, and what type of terrain will you be walking over. What is your priority? Comfort?, grip?, longevity/ expected life of the boot?, weight of the boot?

I’ve taken my boots to Timpsons, the High Street cobblers/ locksmiths etc, who have fixed inserts into the worn areas of the heels BUT cannot use fixing tacks on the Vibram heels, so the inserts are only stuck on with powerful shoe adhesive. It cost less than a tenner, but with no warranty. Good luck, and happy, safe walking.

I received a pair of timber brown…

I received a pair of timber brown boots. An eyelet on one boot was not aligned to the other and the eyelet fell out. I returned the boots as requested and waited for a replacement pair to arrive…….guess what…the same eyelet on the same boot fell out! I cannot prove that the same boots repaired were sent back to me.
I contacted grisport and the said they would pay for the repair.
I have been buying their products for 15 years and i have now informed them i wont be buying them again.

It was by far the worst company we have ever encountered. Post office staff did not hand over our parcel. Also the manager refused to answer questions where the parcel is.

Grisport staff did not respond to all our emails in regards to unable to collect the parcel. They completely ignored us. They also did not
want to assist with the parcel enquiry.

We have contacted the police, trading standards, DPD, HQ post office and consumers. Will also contact local MP shortly.

We no longer want their shoes. It is too late. Failed to deliver parcel according to estimate date.

awful customer service

awful customer service, I complained about a pair of trekking shoes having the worst grip, having slipped painfully on a wet path ( others wearing regular shoes and trainers had no issue with surface )
they said this was to be expected given the sole. absolute garbage to hear about a supposedly quality walking shoe..
I also tried to leave a less than 5* review for the product on their site, it never got published.

Quality of walking shoe (Dartmoor)

Quality of walking shoe (Dartmoor), very poor compared to ten years ago when you could rely on them. The sole has become unglued from leather at front. The company does not accept any liability. Will not buy from them again.
NB Previous pair did 10 years good service. This pair lasted 7 months!

8” BOA Workboot

I am a home builder and contractor. Purchased the 8” Boa system safety/work boot for myself and a few other employees. Initial thought was amazing. Comfortable. Durable… until Boa system broke. Plastic Clip that is sewn into tongue snapped. So now no way to tighten boot. Initially was told there was a lifetime warranty on it. Turns out not so. Turns out Grisport has a warranty that ends when you walk out the door. And as for customer service, it’s non existent. I called Griaport Canada. They told me they don’t deal with work boots. Not their problem. Called Grisport US. No response. Emailed both Grisport Canada and Grisport Italy head offices twice as well as calling Italy to leave a voice message. No response to anything.
So I now have a $300 pair of boots that I can’t lace up or tighten, useless.
Never again. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM GRISPORT!
Look to any other reputable company that will stand behind their product.

Already have a pair of grisport decoy decoy boots and they have been excellent after over two years of heavy work load still waterproof and in very good condition so thought after seeing these gamekeeper boots on offer with a free pair of merino socks for £125 couldn't resist them the boot is very comfortable aswell as being sturdy in build quality looks like I'll get years of use out of these with proper after care, excellent.

Beware !!!!!!

Just a few days out of warranty and both my boots began to leak despite very light use and frequent waxing. The leather uppers of the boots have started to crack where the upper joins the sole. Contacted customer services to discuss the matter and they were not interested since the boots were out of warranty they would not even give me a discount on a pair of replacement boots. If possible I would give them 0 stars because of their attitude.
