Absolutely disgusting and a borderline…
Absolutely disgusting and a borderline death trap. Arrived in the late afternoon on the 28th December 2025 and once in we saw how cheap and low quality the finishings of the place was. Once in our room we we absolutely disgusted. It was a twin bed placed next to each other and one of them been lob sided. The electrics at the bottom of the head rest was held and sealed together with packaging tape and covered with a thick layer of dust so definitely been like that for a while, the carpet aged and seriously worn out with awful stain marks on it. The worse was the toilet which when flushed had water leak from pipes straight onto a live electric socket feeding the macerator and flooding the floor!! None of the piples connections were not leaking. 100% a death trap that could kill you by electrocution. Also the floor has a tilt so if the pipes were to completely give out the water would run I to the bedroom where and extension cord lay on the floor as they do not seem to want to have fixed wall sockets installed. We were in the place for less than 20minutes and could not find the manager so left to discuss and contact booking.com to assist us to request a full refund and so we may in this late even find alother accomodation leaving us in a aweful situation. Upon returning Grey Friars lodge we caught up with the manager and showed him the videos and images of the issues and we handed the keys back and left. He apologised but said he doesn't know how to deal with the refund and booking.com as I quote, "I just work here'. We taken enough photos and videos and will be reporting this place to HSE!!!
