Great class - for a beginner, David manage to cut right through to what was most important about getting the basics right without leaving you feeling too overwhelmed. I feel encouraged to learn more and tackle some more serious projects in the future. Highly recommended.

The spray painting course run by David was great, enjoyable as well as informative. David has the right balance between theory and hands on and the workshop setup is fantastic (I have serious workshop envy now). David clearly has vast experience and is able to get the info across in a clear manner. I would highly recommend this course.

Wow, David knows his stuff, what a fabulous day I had learning all about the hand held Router and table Router. A very friendly environment with a day packed with useful hints, tips and everything you need to know from the course. I thought at first that the price for the one day course was quite steep however, it was in fact, well worth every £. Thank you once again David.

Easy to understand instructions on the practical aspect of the course.
The theory really goes deep into the art of spraying, cleaning & the set up.
We are confident moving forward with the knowledge received.

I did the Woodwork and DIY day course as a complete beginner and really enjoyed it. It was a perfect balance of theory and practice and David is an excellent teacher. We had the chance to ask him a lot of questions and he explained everything in a very digestable and memorable way. I have learned a lot and look forward to starting my project soon.

The instructor, Neil, was very knowledgeable and an excellent teacher. On top of the welding instruction, he offered me invaluable career advice as someone who is starting out in the world of manufacturing/metalworking. I will consider going to another course in the future.

Attended the DIY woodworking day as a total beginner - Really great small group teaching with loads of opportunities to ask questions and good equipment throughout. Teaches you loads of fundamentals to build on, excellent day and good value.

In short, yesterday's Essential Power Tools Workshop was EMPOWERING! The small class size made it personal and a safe space to ask questions. So pleased I did it and would highly recommend it to others. Thanks Dave.

I attended the Woodworking Joints class and it was superb. David is a knowledgable bloke who explains things clearly. It was a good mix of theory and practical, and I came away having learned a lot, and itching to start some new projects. Thoroughly recommended!

I took the woodworking beginners course in early November 2023. David was able to listen to some of the projects I planned to do and tailor the learning around the techniques required for those projects. I would highly recommend the course and David was a great instructor. Thank you again!

This was a truly refreshing experience in being taught, period. Teachers are a great tool for learning and growing as an individual. You will feel great in the class while you learning the skill on the course and you know the teacher is taking care of his business to ensure your development.

Best value, this is a school that everyone should attend to grow in starting there DIY journey.

Excellent job David Free in teaching the spraying course.

This was my second time at The Great British Woodshop. I have made a garden planter and a coffee table and I am already planning my next session back! David is very experienced and welcoming, I can’t fault this experience and would definitely recommend!

It was a great day that covered so much and I came away with the confidence to start making well designed and constructed pieces and a better understanding of the tools I have, but hadn't perhaps been using them to their best ability and functions. David's style of teaching is very relaxed, informative and respectful to everyone's abilities and fears.
I'd definitely recommend this course to anyone and I'll be looking at doing more courses with David in the future.

What a great day! David was very clear, explaining things I thought I knew but didn't! Also great practical experience. Excellent facilities and a fun day full of learning and Cale away with lots of tool/workshop envy!

Learning new skills (such as how to make different joints) and coming away with a sturdy stool which I'm really proud of.

My son has really enjoyed the classes. He thought David was professional and fun. He taught how to operate complex machines and tools. Overall a very enjoyable experience and I highly recommend it.
