Just fantastic customer service throughout the process including the delivery from both Matt and Alan who were exceptionally helpful.
The trees we purchased are this far healthy and were well protected in transit and look great in situ. We have followed the planting instructions and look forward to seeing them develop.

Plants arrived well packaged but dry and turning yellow

Wild privet delivered and I'm very happy with these plants. Delivery time was also good. I've made a number of purchases from Grasslands and the plants have always been high quality.

A birch tree bought from Grasslands over three years ago has completely failed despite scrupulous attention to practice recommended by the nursery. That care is evidenced by the fact the tree has grown from 6 to over 20 foot high. But the trunk is only 6 inches in circumference at its widest point. Unsurprisingly, the tree cannot stand independently despite the use of appropriate support including flexible staking and elastic guys. The failure to develop the necessary girth must be related to the original stock. We must now replace the tree which has entirely collapsed with one from a more reliable supplier.

delivered. Not necessarily the way we should do business but it’s the way we have to do it. Painless and super efficient, thank you.

I bought a lot of hedge plants off grasslands. In hindsight I should have returned them immediately but i trusted what customer services said and planted them. They were poor quality, delivered wilted, with too small rootballs for the size, and delivered way over spec which increased risk. They died, and they convinced me to pay 50% to buy more in pots instead as ‘goodwill’ . The ‘potted’ plants arrived and were rootballs put in pots, still with hessian and wire embedded in the roots. Also some delivered with completely snapped leaders. They said they would grow new leaders and bush out, but ive had year on year die back.
Ive proven the site is good.
Ive proven my planting methods.
They wont even refund the 50% off replacement order.
Avoid. Not trustworthy. Poor stock.

Plant was very small for £100 and £30 delivered is excessive .
The plant was in very good condition and very healthy so that was positive.

I purchased a wisteria which arrived on time ,carefully packaged to reduce risk of damage, it was healthy and I was surprised to see it had some flowers, I have planted it out and it is looking great so thankyou for the care taken to deliver my plant in great condition

Very well packaged, no fear of them getting damaged on routě. Excellent plants. (Cornus) This is the first garden on line order that i have been happy about 100%

The lavenders are beautiful and so healthy so I am very pleased. I have taken one star off as parcel force had not kept two boxes upright so three plants were out of their pots and sitting on top of the other plants so some were a little crushed. This in no way reflects on the packaging of the plants by grasslands which was excellent and just a shame that courier could not follow instructions

Update: Edit to add that Grasslands have subsequently acknowledged the issues with the shrubs received and refunded me. I've upgraded the rating to reflect this.

The cotinus shrubs we received had several major issues, which Grasslands have refused to acknowledge. Firstly, the root flare was buried halfway down the pot, meaning that to plant it out at the right planting height and avoid future trunk rot, we were left with just over half the advertised rootball size. The roots had also begun to girdle the trunk. Grasslands say it is normal production practice to bury the root flare this deep and that customers should be doing as we did before planting so... check your root flares or you'll be losing your shrubs and trees to rot in a few years! They said that just over half the listed pot size being the ultimate rootball is 'within the specified size grade'. We also had significant frost damage, taking out about 10 inches of the top of all the main stems, which they characterised as 'cosmetic only'. Despite giving the shrubs another four weeks to leaf out, these sections are clearly completely dead.

I ordered two bay trees online (£198) and paid for delivery. Tree quality was poor, both trees leaning to one side and flimsy. I returned them myself to the nursery yesterday and was advised I’d be refunded. Which I was - minus a restocking fee of 10% ! (£19.80) which the staff didn’t advise me. No wonder !
I spoke to two separate girls in the office today and asked them to explain the term restocking fee. Both of whom I found unpleasant to deal with. No apology. Just ‘it’s in our terms and conditions ‘ and that it takes a lot of work to restock a return. Utter joke. I returned the trees to them !
I also bought two more plants to replace the ones which I’d returned. Wishing I hadn’t now.
Will never use or recommend grasslands again.

We ordered 12 english lavender plants. Their price was half you would pay in a garden centre and when they arrived were very well packed with no damage whatsoever.
The plants were of a good size, not just plugs, and in excellent condition. Highly recommended, no hesitation in using again.

Plants are really beautiful apart from one contact them but didn't listen but apart from that look amazing in garden

Laburnum tree was as described and very healthy looking. Delivery driver was very friendly and offered to take the tree to the back of the house, which was very helpful of him.

My Magnolia Genie arrived packaged amazingly well! It was healthy, in flower and just better than my expectations. Will definitely choose Grasslands Nursery again to buy my plants, I'm already trying to pick my next purchase :)

Would never buy from this garden centre again.What they show on their website isn't what you get.Also,they will give any excuse not to compensate for the smaller trees which l received.Be careful ordering from this nursery.
