Just got approves for solar through GoodLeap. However, after reading all the reviews, I don't think GoodLeap is a credible option for my family who already struggles to keep afloat due to the high cost of living here in my island home of Hawaii. The negative ratings were too high. I pray I find something soon before Trump cuts the program.

Purchased solar financed through Goodleap. To the point, Goodleap is akin to a modern day mafia. Best to avoid.
DO NOT USE GoodLeap
DO NOT USE GoodLeap! We purchased a home with a preexisting solar loan that we had to assume. They would not release any information regarding payment terms or even balance before we qualified, and then we had to assume the loan at the original terms even though we qualified for a better interest rate. We ended up paying off the loan in full (over $11,000) once the home purchase was complete, but now they are still saying we owe $33. Their customer service is only available Monday through Friday, and even then, you can't get hold of anyone, and they don't respond to online customer inquiries.
Very dissatisfied
I had my roof repaired (April 4, 2025). I took out a loan with Goodleap to finance it as per the roofing company's high recommendation. It has been nothing but headaches to deal with them about paying the loan off. The initial letter, containing the information I needed to pay off the loan, did not arrive until less than a week before the first payment due date. A check was mailed for $14,370.36 and I was given a grace period for that amount plus interest. I called three times to see why it was taking so long to be cashed. I was then asked to provide checking account info over the phone. The loan was then paid off in full (with more interest?) $14,404.03 (June 18, 2025) and I was assured the sent check would not be cashed and I made a stop payment on the check as well. Today, July 18, 2025 I noticed the check had indeed been cashed (yesterday July, 17, 2025) despite being assured it wouldn't be. This extra money was taken from my savings. Which leaves me wondering if they had the check this while time. I was told I would receive a refund in the mail 14-30 days. I cannot afford to wait that long. They informed me they had no better option to refund me. I would highly advise anyone considering using GoodLeap to find another lender. Also, the loan agency had no issue charging me additional interest because they "could not control the mail" and yet cashed the check even though the loan had been paid in full. The check was mailed from VA to TX. I know it definitely does not take a month for a letter to arrive between the two states. Very dissatisfied with the lender so if they are suggest to you decline and find another lender.

Good leap purchased an inverter with my money and 3 months later still has not removed the bad unit and replaced it with the unit I payed for. The city is billing me monthly for the electricity which I payed for out of my pocket.
These guys are extreme scum bags
These guys are complete scum bags. After 2 years of paying them on time I lost my job and have been unemployed for 12 months. Still paying them but if my payment is not made on that very date due the next day the call me and hound me. The calls start coming in from ghost numbers, even when I tell them I will pay them by a certain day the still call every day until it's paid. It turns out that they increased my loan percentage by 5% even though I have not been more than 20 days late.
Very scammy
Very scammy! They try and promote 12 months interest free financing but then say you have a "promotional period" of no payments for 12 months. Yes, read that again... SCAM! I decided to pay my entire bill off as I do not trust this kind of company.

Project funds released 9 months ago and work hasn't been completed..
They also will call you from a different number everything and are incredibly rude
Always check the SOURCE info. of any loan!
At April's end this yr., I needed some major replacement of duct/insulation work done. I didnt want to go into my savings and the local plumbing contractor here in Las Vegas as advertised in our local retirement mag., suggested I consider a first year, interest free loan through GOODLEAP. I made it VERY CLEAR, that I didn't want monthly payments - but to make 4 payments within the year. He said this was possible. I went forward with procuring the loan. I found out two weeks after the work was done and to my shock, surprise & anger, that they did NOT offer this payment plan whatsoever. I wound up last week withdrawing the full balance and paying it off to this company out of Texas who were LESS than serviceable in dealing with the problem. I'm very fiscally responsible and RESENT misinformation and misrepresentation "big time". Emperior caveat!!! My next review will be of the plumbing contractor, stay tuned!
Run if these guys are the Loan option!!!
If I could Write no Stars I would! I had a loan with these guys for Solar panels a $33,000 loan, and whenever I called for assistance or information they always were not helpful, put you on long holds and transfer you to different departments and give you the run around. So Bad Service and not helpful. But what really stings Is I paid the loan off and I thought I was done. But NOPE they hit you with fees at the end. I have never seen this before I got hit with termination fees!! I never seen this for ending my car loan, I financed a Water softening system for my home, and that company didn't hit me with extra fees. NO OHTER LOAN company I know has hit me with fees after I gave them the money to pay off the loan. I called to inquire about this after I basically gave these guys thousands over the lifetime of the loan to see if they might waive these fees.... NOPE these guys are crooks, I cannot recommend them Please if you need to barrow money go anywhere else!!! Very unhelpful when you need service, and crooks overall!!! Your better off giving your business to a better place, and save yourself future headaches.
Don't use this company you'll be sorry
Gave me a loan for my solar panels through titan solar. They are in with solar companies, paid them before the job was done and operating. Don't care about their customers but put a lien on your house. Scam alert
The worst!
In May 2024, I financed a 12-month interest free loan for a generator panel I installed with an initial payment date of June 2024. I paid off the loan three months early in March of 2025 and not only did it take them two months to receive the $1400 they owed me, three months later this month, they took $495 out of my checking account and now they’re telling me it’s going to take 7-14 days to get my refund, that they basically stole. I’ve cancelled the ACH with my back and am disputing the charge. They took it electronically and it should’ve been reversed immediately. Do not use them. I’ve filed with the BBB and am writing this review here. Shame on them.
Terrible company - Should not Be Allowed To Operate
Terrible company.
They lock you into a set rate and will not allow you to increase your monthly payment as needed.
They don't show interest accruing in the account either, so you just have to take it on faith they're not overcharging you, or call their CS line every time you want an actual account summary.
I don't know how controlling what you pay each month toward your loan is legal, but I'll put myself in the poorhouse getting out from under Good leap ASAP.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Don't Use Them!!
The electric company that did some work at my home offered goodleap, so I used them. For weeks I kept getting calls for other home loans. The first "gentleman" I spoke with gave me a lot of inaccurate information about how I would save money by refinancing through them. As an auditor in the mortgage servicing industry, I KNEW he was incorrect and when I told him he just got more belligerent! Their portal is a pain in the *ss, their billing statements are poorly constructed, and never would I recommend them to anybody!!
"NO STARS"
"NO STARS" - scammers, thieves, pirates, bandits! This company is the worst. they use fraudulent and unfair business practices in their accounting. You end up paying more towards interest than principal. My payment is $176 a month of that 60-70% goes to interest. This month 99% went to interest and $1.00 to principal. I have autopay and when I send a check as extra payment, they processed the check, but not the autopay, which means they evidently want me in their debt forever.. Don't deal with this company, as a matter of fact - it is time for a class action lawsuit with the number of complaints on BBB and other websites.
They lost a payment from my bank
They lost a payment from my bank. Capitalized my interest even though it was paid in full. Horrible customer service. Many calls were routed to the Philippines, not an understandable person. Do not deal with them!
Terrible bunch of liars
Terrible bunch of liars, put a lien on my house under the cover of something called a UCC. They say loan is signature loan with the solar equipment as the collateral. But bank says otherwise. Just another bunch of crooks.
This company is just another predatory…
This company is just another predatory lender using underhanded practices to rip people off. I agreed to a loan with them because the solar company (Blue Raven) I was working with indicated that I would receive a rebate for taking out the loan and that if I paid off the loan prior to my first payment I would not owe any interest/fees, etc. I also asked a representative from Goodleap if I would be charged any monies if I paid off the loan prior to my first payment being due and they responded that I would not owe anything more than the initial loan amount. None of that was true. They charged interest plus a processing fee even though I paid off the loan prior to my first payment being due. This is a dishonest company that has been or is currently being sued by multiple people/states. Do not do business with them as they will rip you off.
Used for solar install, do not use!
Used for solar install, payment just bumped +$100 per month because we “didn’t hit the target” of payments.
Of course it was not presented or explained to us like that so the senior citizen takes the hit again!
Also the solar company filed bankruptcy so no recourse if solar takes a dump!
No help on 5000 dollar double payment
Their app appears to have a recurring issue with processing duplicate payments (other reviewers have reported similar issues. In my case, it withdrew $5,000 twice. Customer service informed me that a refund will take up to 30 days, and the so-called “escalation” team won’t even review my case for two business days. Most modern accounting systems can instantly detect and prevent duplicate payments—especially when an account shows a zero balance—and issue immediate refunds when errors occur. Given both my experience and similar reports from others, this seems less like a glitch and more like a deliberate design flaw.
