Shitty Customer Service

I was excited to use Freddie, but apparently I can't.

So a few days ago, I sent in an application for PrEP with Freddie. I figured that for my own safety, it would be a good idea. But I learned that I would be sent a lab kit that would require a blood prick test. I expected that, but then I get an email saying it was shipped. So I email Freddie and let them know that I have a phobia of blood, and was asking for tips on how to manage that while doing the test.

They asked me to check if I can do an in person test, I said I couldn't and told them my insurance provider (which they already knew, because the application form they make you fill out asks for your insurance provider). And then after that, they tell me they can't help me because I'm not in network, and then someone proceeded to cancel my appointment without letting me know, but not my lab kit shipment. Along with this, they completely ignored my concerns about my fear of blood after I told them my insurance provider, and are actively telling me they can no longer help me.

As I'm writing this the lab kit is currently in my apartment with me, waiting to be used, yet I'm apparently not supposed to have it. Instead of stopping me from applying when I gave my provider, they sent me a lab kit immediately, then ignored my concerns about the kit and refused to help me after I gave them my insurance provider.

I have remade my appointment, and I'm waiting to see what happens then, but apparently this company is careless enough to not check for if someone's insurance is in network until after they have already made their appointments and receive lab kits. I'm incredibly frustrated by this. I don't know what to do with this lab kit currently in my apartment, and I don't know if I can actually get PrEP from Freddie, and customer service has been complete shit to me and unhelpful. I hope that This gets fixed after my situation.

I really wish Freddie worked out, and that I could use them. I love what Freddie is doing. I hope these issues get fixed.

USE SOMEONE ELSE

Was told they would handle insurance issues. Rec'd an email that my Rx was ready and
To call NPS Pharmacy to schedule delivery. Called the pharmacy and they advised they cannot fill it. It has to be filled at CVS Specialty pharmacy. Why didn't Freddie know this if they "handle the insurance issues". Called CVS Specialty and they were an utter nightmare: long story short, I have no idea where my med is or how to get it. So much for "we'll handle the insurance issue".

Freddie is so very convenient, from easy appointment scheduling, to the first discussion with the HCP, who addressed all my questions. Receiving the lab kits and then the medication was extremely straightforward, with step-by-step instructions for completing tests prior to receiving your prescription.

Avoid awkward conversations with your family doc

After an awkward conversation with my family doc that didn’t go well, I was unsure how to get a prescription for prep or if I even wanted to have another conversation with another judgemental doctor. My friend told me about Freddie so I checked them out right away. I had a consult and requisition within 24 hours, I had my lab work 24 hours after that, and within just a few days. my prep prescription was delivered to my door. I am beyond grateful for this service and how comfortable they made me during the consult, and how professional and informed the doctor was. Non-judgemental questions, factual information, discreet and comfortable service.
