Unfortunately, I've had 4 issues arise within a month. First American sent exceptional technicians except for the incompetence of the serviceman that came to repair my downstairs heat pump. He made... See more

No problem choosing the vehicle I needed. Salesman took me around to view the vehicle and test drive.
It kills me to even give them 1 star; there is NOTHING even acceptable about their performance. Suffice it to say that a breach of contract lawsuit is my next step due to not replacing my refrigerator after an 8-month on-going issue. I’m out over $1000 on service fees and spoiled food, and I’ve been eating fast food and using an Igloo cooler for the last two months. I can’t say it strongly enough - word to the wise - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR HOME WARANTEE SERVICE!!!
EDIT ON 9-17-26 REGARDING THEIR RESPONSE BELOW:
NOT SURE HOW I CAN RESPOND TO YOUR COMMENT ON MY REVIEW; I HAVE NO EMAIL FROM YOU IN MY INBOX EXCEPT FROM THE CLAIMS SPECIALIST. YOU ARE “IN THE PROCESS” OF REVIEWING THE CLAIM TO SEE IF IT “CAN BE REPLACED”. I WILL CONTINUE TO CALL EVERY DAY AND POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA EVERY DAY UNTIL IT *** IS*** REPLACED.
MY EMAIL AND PHONE NUMBER BOTH ARE IN THE CLAIM FILE - IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT FULFILLING THE CONTRACT TERMS OF REPLACING THE FRIDGE IN A TIMELY MANNER, REACH OUT TO ME BY PHONE TODAY. OTHERWISE YOUR RESPONSE COMES OFF AS A LAME ATTEMPT TO LOOK GOOD. I WILL AWAIT YOUR CALL.

I hate this company! FAHW are scammers. They collect your premium and make promises that they never intend on keeping. We’ve been having issues with our unit since December (I wrote a review then as well). They didn’t like that so, they offered me a reimbursement of up to $150 in space heaters, that we never received. They put a bandaid on the unit and got it working after my family was in the cold for two months! We have in writing (via email) that if we experience issues again, that they will replace the unit. Now, it’s September and it’s out again. Has been out for over a week. What did FAHW say? That they can’t honor the email from February and that we have to start the process over again. We paid $100 for them to send someone out again, the contractor tried to sell us a unit on the side. The warranty people contacted us and said that they’ll cover some parts, but we need to cover the rest and it’ll be $2,000. They will do anything to not hold up their end of the bargain.
The end!

Approximately 90% of the customer service representatives and contractors I have interacted with do not speak English as their first language, which has created significant communication challenges and, at times, made it difficult to clearly explain the issue or understand the recommended resolution.
The scheduling and timeliness of technician house calls have also been a significant concern. On several occasions, technicians have arrived two to three hours after the scheduled service window. This requires me to take substantially more time away from work than anticipated, including having to request extended vacation time simply to remain at home waiting for the technician.
Additionally, I have experienced multiple instances where the technician appears to misdiagnose the underlying problem, particularly when determining whether an issue falls within the exclusions of the policy. In several cases, after I have independently hired a contractor to evaluate the problem, the contractor has identified a different diagnosis or repair requirement than the contractor initially provided through First American.
This has created a lack of confidence in the diagnostic process and raises concerns that some contractors may be characterizing or diagnosing issues in a manner that aligns with policy exclusions rather than accurately identifying the underlying cause of the problem.

Customer service is utterly abysmal. We were eventually given a “claim specialist” who never answered the phone and whenever we called about our claim nobody else was allowed to deal with our case. We called numerous times, sometimes for hours on end, and never received any updates or information about our claim. The customer service system is designed so you cannot dispute their claims.
Not only this, but they massively inflate the price of “modifications” that should be included under the contract, in order to get out of having to pay. This means you will receive a large out-of-pocket bill. We have spent hours trying to speak to somebody that gives us more information than the call center script and even raised a complaint through the Better Business Bureau.
If you have a home warranty with this company, just hope your AC doesn’t fail.
I have no clue why there are so many positive reviews on here. We haven’t had a single positive interaction with them.

I am very familiar with first America you appear to be trustworthy. I had a small claim it was taken care of immediately. I will continue with the peace of mind warranty

First American home warranty contracts with Sear’s to provide services in central Alabama. Sear’s has appointment windows 8 am-5 pm and frequently cancels appointments day of after confirming them.

If I could give a -0, I definitely would!! My air went out 8/22/26. FAHW sent out Advanced Heating @ 412 W Bankhead St in New Albany,Ms. They said my compressor went out. Ok....aweek went by, & NO ONE contacts me about NOTHING!I call FAHW to see what's what. They contact the people in New Albany, who called me back lying that they had been trying to get in contact with me. I told her,no ma'am, nobody called or emailed me. Fast forward today, 9/11/2026, I called again, (FAHW) for them to put me on hold to call the people in New Albany. They come back only to tell me that they say, they are getting ready to call me back to set up a day....that was an hour ago. I always ask, "why can't I get someone in my home town (Columbus, Ms) to fix it?" Never a straight answer. This is UNPROFESSIONAL & against the law. I will NEVER refer anybody else to them!

I reached out to FAHW regarding a request from 2025 due to the wrong part being installed. They corrected the problem and backed up the job. Thank you

Your choice of HVAC company is BAD.
The service technician, replaced the condenser fan motor. Something happened, the system shut down. They came back out and said the AC need to be replaced . My cost $3,300. FAHW cost ???? My common sense, said this is a shame! I call another HVAC service company ! They came out, within 10 to 15 minutes the serviceman diagnosed the problem. Clogged condenser drain ! I told the guy to fix it !! $175.00 I paid out of pocket. Technician said unite is in great condition, very clean. So i paid First American Home Warranty the $95 ? Fee, And FAHW sent out incompetent air conditioning company.
I all good faith Firsr American home Warranty should reimburse me that charge.
I save First American Home $1,000 s and saved myself $3,300.00.
What do you say FAHW ?
If I could give zero starts I would. First, I called and after 11:35 of phone tree circles I finally got someone to pick up only to be hung up on. Called back and did the circle again..... finally talked to someone who was not able to help me and said they could put me through to their supervisor only to be on hold over 20 minutes and finally they won and I hung up. I understand their "process" of calling to make a claim and getting hooked up with one of their contractors, but some circumstances do not allow for time to always have that happen...for instance, we had our basement flood and we were pretty sure our sump pump had failed. We called our plumbing company who services our furnace and a/c and they were able to come out the following day to look at it...it was malfunctioning and so we replaced it on the spot because were are supposed to get more rain this weekend. I asked them to review the contractors notes and photo's retroactively and was denied. Come on.

This company is a joke!! Two hottest months of the year waiting on them and we still don't have a fixed unit, & We ended up with $1800 in electric bills because of it. I live in az and just bought a house 3 months ago, 1 month in my brand new central air stops working. So I called to have someone come out and fix it as it's on a warranty. For starters it took two weeks just for someone to show up and look at it, and he was so unprofessional This guy bitched the entire time that he was sent out to our house and that an hour out is apparently sooo unacceptable!!Then the guy says he needs parts because apparently this company doesn't keep parts on hand so they had to be ordered. But first he had to send in a request to get permission to even order the part. The repair guy said once he got permission to order it would be 2-3 days and someone would be back with the parts So we waited... a week and a half later we call again and this time we're told that is was never 2-3 days it was 3 weeks we had to wait. So we waited again, a month in I call back again and find out that they've had the part for a week and the repair guy has been notified and should have already called us and that he would send a notice to him to get on it. We're now a month and a half since the repair guy came the first time, I called again today and just got more excuses claiming that the part was now never there even though it was confirmed to be there before! We have a disabled war vet living in the house that is on oxygen 24/7 and we're fighting day and night to keep the machine from over heating and shutting off and also to keep him from heat stroking as the average temp in the house has been between 105-110 and the company knows this and yet all they give are excuses for the laziness of their employees instead of results!!! If I could switch the warranty to a different company I would!! At this point it would have been cheaper to pay a different company to come fix it at full price!! $1800 in electric plus the fee I had to pay just to get that repair guy out here for him to do nothing !!! So ya heads up if you can choose a different company for your warranty's!!!

Impossible to get ahold of customer service. My father has not owned a home in over 5 years and has been deceased for 2 years. I have called, snail mailed and emailed, but FAHW continues to bombard him with mail about expired service. Additionally, they send the mail to my house, where he has never lived.

I wish I could give First American Home Warranty 0/5 stars.
Do NOT let a realtor or seller convince you this provides meaningful peace of mind. We paid nearly $2,000 over two years, plus repeated $95 service fees, and got virtually nothing in return.
Our A/C repeatedly failed during a brutally hot summer, leaving our upstairs and toddler’s bedroom at 80+ degrees and repeatedly tripping breakers. Each time: pay another $95, wait several days for a contractor, contractor arrives after the intermittent problem stopped, can’t identify a failed component, does minimal work such as adding refrigerant, and leaves. Zero follow up from First American.
Then the system fails again.
We paid roughly $380 in HVAC service fees alone, yet First American never took ownership of the recurring problem. Eventually we hired our own HVAC company and are now replacing the 25-year-old system ourselves.
Customer service is heavily scripted (barely can communicate with you beyond their script), so meaningful escalation is extremely difficult, and there isn’t even a useful email channel to maintain a written record (no paper trail - how convenient!).
Save your premium and service-call fees and put the money into a repair fund instead. I will NEVER purchase a First American warranty again.

If I could give First American Home Warranty zero stars, I would. My experience has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. As a paying customer, I expected dependable service and support, and I do not feel I received value for my money.
I am so dissatisfied that I want to cancel my coverage and stop spending any more money with this company. A home warranty should provide peace of mind, but my experience has left me with frustration and regret. Based on my experience, I would not recommend First American Home Warranty.
Now the situation is the contractor has taken the part from my Dryer and no response to comeback and fix for good. Pathetic experience with "Let's Take A Look HVAC and Comfort Solutions LLC".
PLEASE DO NOT TRUST FIRST AMERICAN HOME WARRANTY AND THEIR CONTRACTORS "Let's Take A Look HVAC and Comfort Solutions LLC" AT ALL.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I had them for a year and the one time I went to use them they couldn't do what I paid them for. FIRST I submitted my submitted my claim on a Saturday, by MONDAY NO CALL FROM THE CONTRACTOR. I CALL First American they stated I was still under the 48 hr window but my case would be escalated. TWO BEFORE even calling FIRST American I called VISCO (go read the reviews for yourself) several times the assigned contractor. NOT ONE ANSWER 48 hour window dine passed a day over. I call again. I told them I do not want this company to service me they are not reliable and have horrible reviews. MIND you these are other FIRST AMERICAN CUSTOMERS. SO ANOTHER SIGN THIS COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. SO TIME PASS BY WE ARE NOW A WEEK IN ON A LEAK FOR MY PUMP WHICH IS GETTING WORSE. CASE AGAIN GETS ESCALATED ANOTHER 24 TO 48 HOURS. NO CALL AND GUESS WHO THEY TRY TO SEND ME... YEAP THAT SHADY HORRIBLE CONTRACTOR THAT DID NOT CALL ME TILL August 27 when I submitted my order on August 22. Why would I want this unreliable contractor to come and fix anything when they have bad reviews are not reliable and are based out of Houston. I am in Dallas. Does this make sense? So I call tell FIRST AMERICAN I DO NIT WANT THIS CONTRACTOR THEY HIVE ME THE RUN AROUND BECAUSE TURNS OUT THIS IS YHE ONLY POOL CONTRACTOR. SO DAYS GO BY IM DONE I WANT MY MONEY BACK and I mean all of it. They broke our contract and couldn't provide the services timely as stated on our agreement. So they send me to the cancelation. Guy says I am do sorry lets try one more thing. He escalates this to JOSH WHO BY THE WAY NEVER CONTACTED ME NEVER ASSISTED ME. So this is Thurs no call from anyone. I call Monday I was transferred to 4 people and was told JOSH WOULD CALL BY END OF DAY. NO CALL I GET A RESPONSE FROM BBB WITH COMPLETE lies that I canceled the contractor and had another one already? THIS IS A DISGUSTING AND CROOKED COMPANY. I WANT MY MONEY BACK YOU DID NOT STAND ON YOUR SERVICES AND TRIED TO LIE. I HAVE ALL THE PICTURES AND RECORDINGS. ohhh and I got the email from Josh saying he canceled my policy and refunded me my 100. NO FIRST AMERICAN NEEDS TO REFUND ANYTHING I PAID TO THEM. THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AND POSSIBLE CAUSED MORE DAMAGE FROM THERE CARELESS CONTRACTOR WHO FEELS THEY CAN TAKE THERE SWET TIME WHEN WE PAY FORVYHIS FOR EMERGENCIES. They are thieves period.
I pre paid for my service fee and never got a call from the tech company for my electrical problem.

The repairman was assigned immediately after submitting for the repair. An appointment with the repairman came within minutes. When the repairman arrived he clean, friendly and got right to work. He knew the problem and fixed it. After the repair was completed I noticed I had been charged for two service calls. I sent a message explaining the problem to an associate and within the week received a call from FAH and the matter was resolved. The associate handling the overcharged was kind and helpful. Thank you
