My daughter wanted to book the AuPair service and had a clear timeline in mind, according to the online form, it was feasible with her age, birthday and expectations.
They used strong sales techniques on the phone, pushed for the induction call and for the terms and conditions to be signed to be able to have the call.
She was then pushed to book so she could get a Air BnB voucher and also a call with the specialist service in charge of matching the teenagers with the families as soon as possible, however it was early June and she turns 18 at the end of August. This made her beleive that they could find a family fast by presenting her profile as soon as herprofile is complete. However she had requested to start at the very latest October due to commitments next summer, they pushed her to pay anyway.
It then became clear that there was no voucher, no-one was going to call her to discuss matching families and her profile was not going to be put forward until her 18th birthday so the earliest was the early September.
As mentioned in other reviews, they stick to their terms and conditions of 50% refund in forms of store credit, however, we have no trust in their services at all, certainely not for Au Pair.
Also it was clear that the service is pretty empty as my daughter needed pretty much everything herself, also trying to get any information about where there might be families and whether they had quite a few availabilities was like pulling teeth, they were extremely vague, they did not adapt in any way to her requirements and nowshe is £1.500 down which took her months/years to save up, it is a lot of money for anyone and especially for a 17 year old who worked through her evenings and weekend to save up, appealing behaviour!
At that point, the only service she received from Globalworkandtravel, is a very short introductory video call, based on that and despite your terms and conditions, I don't know they would not refund her money? As a family, we are truly baffled, this situation has put a huge amount of stress on her, she has been looking you up for months and fell off a cliff when she realised you could not provide the service she wanted and far more so since you said she was not going to get a refund. Now we also think of all the other youngsters who are about to hire your services and they don't know what kind of company you are.
DO. NOT. BOOK
Absolutely appalling experience. I would seriously warn anyone thinking about booking with this company to **think twice before handing over your money**.
I paid **$2,595** for a trip and tried to cancel **around TWO HOURS after booking it**. Two hours. Not two weeks. Not two months.
And somehow I’m still being hit with a **50% cancellation fee**, plus they now want to deduct another **$258 “chargeback fee”** from the cash refund.
Their amazing solution? Give me **$1,297.50 in trip credit** for a company I have made extremely clear I NEVER want to book with again.
How is that remotely helpful?
The whole process has been ridiculously **anti-consumer**. I contacted them almost immediately after booking, and instead of applying any common sense or reasonable discretion, it has turned into an exhausting fight just to get my own money back.
The customer service has also been terrible. Getting clear answers has been like pulling teeth. I’m now having to specifically ask them to show me the exact clause in the terms and conditions that supposedly allows them to charge this additional **$258 fee**, because simply saying “a chargeback fee applies” is not good enough.
Honestly, the fact that someone can try to cancel within roughly two hours and still end up in this situation is insane to me.
I’ve now escalated the matter to **VCAT**, because I’m completely fed up.
If you’re considering booking with this company, **please be very careful**. Read absolutely everything before paying them a cent, because if anything goes wrong or you need to cancel, my experience has been that their policies are incredibly unfriendly to customers and their idea of a resolution is apparently giving you credit to spend more money with them.
I would **never book with them again**, and I absolutely would not recommend them to anyone.

Stay well clear,They will chase your money and promise the world,After full payment is made they will then explain you need £2500 in the bank for OZ working visa, you will need money for the visa, should have explained before payment that you need £4000 before thinking of going.

I was reassured with what the app was used for once you have applied for a working holiday. I had everything explained to me in great detail and the staff were very chatty which made me feel better about me being so passionate about travel because it’s just nice to be able to hear it from a complete stranger :)

This company sucks, avoid at all costs
I paid them $2,000 upfront (plus an additional $500 for the visa, $800 for travel insurance, and $1,600 for marked-up plane tickets), expecting guided support for my working holiday in Australia. Instead, we paid double the market price for tickets and received virtually zero benefits or communication once we arrived.
They failed to mention that activities are done entirely on your own rather than as part of an organized group, which ruins the social element they market.
We weren't told where we were staying until we were dropped off—and the hostel was terrible. We couldn’t check in for 5 hours, there were used condoms on the floor, and it was a dump. They didn't even mention needing an Australian Tax File Number (TFN) until the day we arrived, which delayed our setup. The SIM card provided couldn't convert to an eSIM, rendering it useless. And it wouldn’t accept our passport information, so an eSIM wouldn’t have worked anyway. Also, their team was unaware of simple carry-on bag policy changes for our flight, making us have to buy new suitcases 2 days before we left.
Just know, a job match is NOT a job guarantee. We received zero interview leads until TWO days before our flight. Worse, we booked our flights to Melbourne based on their advice, only to be given job interviews in Sydney. To top it off, the employers they supposedly set us up with never even got back to us to schedule the interviews.
Had we not taken matters into our own hands and found our own apartment after the initial hostel stay, we would have been homeless. They didn’t even follow up about getting us housing.
Prior to leaving, they took forever to reply. But while in Australia, they completely stopped responding to any sort of message.
Save your money. You are paying thousands of dollars for a service that leaves you doing all the heavy lifting yourself while they ghost you in a foreign country.

First call with Emilie
Emilie was lovely to talk to! Sharing her personal experience with the company made me feel like I could trust her and Global !

Initial Call review
Kayla was lovely and welcoming. She explained everything super clearly and had some great extra information about the destination that I loved hearing about.
SCAMMERS!
wow where did i even start, they made my girlfriend and i pay up front ($5000) knowing there was a massive cut in canadian visas. Long story short our visas didn’t get selected so we had no option but to cancel our trip. We were granted a 50% store credit and that’s it, nothing else back absolutely disgusting! we are mortified and would tell anyone to stay clear from these scammers! we lost our $5000 and got absolutely nothing in return we are so disappointed and gutted because this money we know we will never see again.
